In the last month I have been on the phone with Member Services quite a bit making reservations for either myself or others that I have rented points to. I found it really interesting the different MS reps I would get. There were a couple that took an unbelieveable amount of time just to pull up my account information and would put me on hold for like 5-10 min just to check for availability

Most of the time I got just a normal rep that wouldn't take too long and all was fine.

I called once for a Hilton Head reservation (and those are tough to get I realized LOL

) and the other for a Boardwalk reservation in May. Both times I received flat out, very uninterested no's from the rep and the phone call was over in 30 seconds time. Interestingly enough I got a MS rep named Amber when I called back on the same day (on two separate occassions) for these reservations, and both times she would put me on hold, make a phone call, and miraculously get me the reservation!

Now I know that it could be chance of luck....but she really went out of her way to make phone calls both times to get me those rooms. I've never had another MS rep do that before.

So....if you're really trying to get in somewhere....ask for Amber

please go to the send a email to

members@disneyvacationclub.com <members@disneyvacationclub.com>

telling them about the wonderful guest services that Amber has provided you.

they get promotion based on guest feedback - so make sure that DVC knows how much you appreciate her efforts on your behalf.

I'll be sure to write down her name as well.

So far, my experiences with the staff at MS have not been so great...with the exception of Frank who really took the time to check out the SSR booking dates/procedures for me. I continue to hope that it will improve!

I know what you mean. The first couple years I was in DVC I had pretty decent CMs...but it seems that recently many have been kind of rude and even more have lacked some basic knowledge about DVC in general (one asked Old Key what? ) Naturally, it was very refreshing to have a CM that really wanted to help! :teeth:

Yeah, I was just thinking how great it was dealing with Frank! I guess he does well for all his customers, not special just for me;) .

Today I had the pleasure of chatting with the lovely Yasmin, a Brazilian who allowed me to blunder along in Portuguese (I speak enough to get me into trouble:teeth: ), and then fortunately claried everything in English too.

On the whole I'd say I was quite satisfied with most of my MS interactions; of course I only have one contract and have done relatively simple things mostly (hmm, except for that one ressie where I got the weekend nights for cash with DVC discount, then downsize to a 1BR on the Sunday, and...). As long as I took some time and explained everything clearly (assuming I had everything clear in my head) even the complicated stuff has turned out well.

LOL, I just called MS, and happened to get Amber (who by the way, was very nice). I started laughing when she said her name, and had to tell her that she has her own online fan club :p .

Guess I've had pretty good luck. I think I've made 5 total calls to MS thus far. One of the reps I spoke to sounded a bit indifferent and another sounded hurried (was late in the day), but the others were all very chipper and professional.

 No way!! What did she say? :hyper:

Well, I think at first she was relieved to know that there was a reason for my spontaneous burst of laughter, and that perhaps she wasn't talking to a total whacko  .

Then she said that she was aware that there were boards that were dedicated to DVC, but that she hadn't checked them out. She was happy to know that nice things were being said about her, and not negative things (guess she really has heard about this board )

She said that she was going to try to check the board out. So... Amber, if you're reading this, hi! :wave2:

LOL.............I got Amber today too. But it was not the first time. Yes she was very nice and very DVC knowledgable. Didn't know she had her own fan club, but do now.

You know, I actually *know* Amber! and everytime I try to play Amber Roulette at DVC, no luck!!! Yes I'm sure she would do a fine job for you! It was much easier to stalk her at the parks when she was in research (survey person). :smooth:

I just had to bump this up after my transferring points nightmare with MS this morning....I didn't have Amber.

It took an hour for them to figure out that what I was saying was correct....and the points could be transferred.
