Ashley Madison an auspicous day

OMG- this is so sick- "absorb some of the blame"- people everywhere are under pressure and they don't turn into kiddie touching cheating people! I think they can pray until they are blue in he face but unless he gets some major psychological help he is going to stay as sick and twisted as he has been for a long time.

Some of the blame? That wife is going to receive and accept ALL of the blame. "If I had better fulfilled my wifely duties, my saintly husband wouldn't have strayed."

What disgusts me is that Daddy and Mommy edited the statement on the family website. They took out the porn part.

Apparently, it is ok to cheat on your wife, but not to be addicted to porn.

I don't believe in karma, so substitute schadenfreude.

Josh really has done a number on their overall family dynamics hasn't he? He's a piece of work but he'll probably get away with it.

As for business marriages and marriages for money and so on, I agree that those have always existed and likely always will. I don't know enough about the former First Family to judge whether it was always like that for them but people change and certainly couples change and things might have been very different when they started out. How they get along and why they stay together is of zero interest to me to be honest.

That must have been a bizarre M and JB strategy session......Maybe one of them said this:

"Honey, I purposed to remove the porn part."

Strange, scary world in that big house. It makes your head spin...Ugh...

Oh my. Folks voting based on who is married...gosh, no words. What a strange single issue to fixate on. I would think their cohort grows ever smaller each year they age.
I apparently have little respect for some voters, and am hoping they pay no heed to any encouragement to do so early or often.
Maybe. Although, there are other single (and multiple) issues, that I find quite bizarre. Flawed as it may be, that's how our system works

I keep trying to respond to this but I can't figure out appropriate family friendly wording.

The AP report below doesn't name specific people, but is an example of how the culling is getting both deeper and more targeted very quickly. I think this weekend is going to be when the situation really explodes, as more and more noteworthy names start showing up in the news.

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20150820/us--cheating_website-229e9627bf.html

Here's what I got from that article:

"The AP traced many of the accounts exposed by hackers back to federal workers. They included at least two assistant U.S. attorneys; an information technology administrator in the Executive Office of the President; a division chief, an investigator and a trial attorney in the Justice Department; a government hacker at the Homeland Security Department and another DHS employee who indicated he worked on a U.S. counterterrorism response team.
Few actually paid for their services with their government email accounts. But AP traced their government Internet connections — logged by the website over five years — and reviewed their credit-card transactions to identify them. They included workers at more than two dozen Obama administration agencies, including the departments of State, Defense, Justice, Energy, Treasury, Transportation and Homeland Security. Others came from House or Senate computer networks."

The whole Duggar thing seems like a case of yelling, "Look! Squirrel!"

There are so many issues I have with the Duggars I wouldn't even know where to start. Anna will not leave him..period. They are brought up that it their job to keep their husband happy and if something like this happens the blame falls mostly on the wife. Anna will be told that none of this would have happened if she had been more attentive to her husband. I frequent a board called Free Jinger, it's basically a fundie watching site where people will post about not only the Duggars but other groups like ATI (the blanket trainers). If you think how they treat women is horrible you should read how kids get treated. I fear for their youngest who is special needs.
The only person I feel sorry for in that family is the oldest, you can tell she would have been someone if she had been born into any other family but instead she is Cinderella to her younger sisters and mother. When Jill and Derrick announced they would not be doing a spin off show and instead left the country to be missionaries I thought "thank god she can finally be a midwife like she wanted."

I do think hacking a business is wrong. - But this particular business disgusts me so much I really can't feel sorry for the owners of it.

I'm not surprised that Anna Duggar plans to stay with Josh. She subscribes to a belief that all people make mistakes and are forgiven, but I really hope she doesn't blame herself! And I hope she takes some control of how things go from here on.

I admit that Hillary Clinton's reaction to Bill's affair did change my perception of her priorities and motives. I read her choice differently - not so much as religious, but as extremely ambitious, and extremes in general make me uncomfortable.

As for "honor among thieves", I think "if he'll cheat with you, he'll cheat on you" is far more applicable.

You should care and here is why.

What if it was a group of people so disgusted with Wal-mart's business practices that they released 100's of millions of names, addresses, and credit card information as well as records of all of their purchases? There are some people to whom Wal-mart disgust them as much as AM disgusts you?

How about an attack by a group of terror-vegans on all of Outback Steakhouse patrons. You can say well those hurt no one, but the wal-mart terrorist could say 'think of the slave labor used to make cheap things? 'Think of the abuse the poor animals suffer so you can have your Filet!'

Someone out there is going to find something you have done or bought or visited and because it disgusts them they will expose it to the world and see if you are singing a different tune!

It sounds like the AM revelations are bringing up some some pretty strong feelings and concerns, hope you have a peaceful weekend.

I wonder how long it's going to take before the woman/en who cheated with Josh Duggar will come forward. I bet there are lots of tabloids willing to pay big bucks for the details.

I feel awful for Anna and the kids.

I think women coming forward might be the one place he catches a break. You have to imagine that women with Ashley Madison accounts are either married themselves, or are escorts hired by the company. In either case, they both have their reasons for being discreet.

Truthfully, I couldn't care less about the identities of any of those people. As far as I'm concerned, affairs are the business of the involved parties, lots of people have them, and I don't find the news of an affair to be all that scandalous or damning, tbh.

The reason Josh Duggar's involvement in this has me rolling in a big pile of schadenfreude is because of the hypocrisy. He's made a literal career of condemning other people for their "immoral" ways all while parading his family around as a shining example of virtue and family values, only to have it exposed as a sham. When people like Josh have a platform and are on a mission to affect the politics of this country, absolutely, I think the public should know if they practice what they preach. For me, Josh Duggar isn't the squirrel, he's the main event.

Definitely!!!

There is a very long list of politicians with a track record of voting against gay rights, who were subsequently caught in gay scandals. It would be comical if it weren't for all the families that were destroyed in the process.

Whereas, I could not care less what this Duggar guy has said in the past or who bothered to listen to him. He's just another idiot who used Ashley Madison to me.

I do care, at least a little, if federal workers are using the site inappropriately on the clock or on government equipment OR if they have security clearances. I'd also like to know if any are elected or appointed officials. Sure, the actual affair is their business, but they may be presenting themselves in some way that is inconsistent with or in opposition to such behavior, and would be no better than Duggar. In fact they would be worse, since they actually DO have the ability to affect the politics of this country.

If Duggar is the main event, then this is all a big nothing. He would have been exposed for his hypocrisy with or without Ashley Madison. I think the AP article is hinting at other, bigger idiots being exposed by this.

Don't be so sure that the Duggar family doesn't hold a lot of political power.

Would it be any different if government workers were surfing the DIS rather than the Ashley Madison site? I don't see the difference to the public. Affairs aren't against the law (although apparently if you are in the military it is). I don't care if the President is cheating any more than my neighbour down the street as long as they aren't running their campaigns condemning it. That's for the wives to worry about. When are we going to stay out of everyone's bedroom (or car, ha)?

Different opinions.
The Duggar family as a whole are quite politically active. They make speeches, stops, are invited as honored guests at plenty of events. It's part of their lifestyle. They have a lot of support in fundamentalist communities. Josh? He was employed by a well known "think tank" that has very specific opinions/judgments about lots of people and how they choose to live their lives.

The obvious hypocrisy is the tip of the iceberg. They (and some of the organizations they support) have really hurt people with their actions and words.
Dugger "Inc" has had far more influence and support than you imply. On the good side, their power has been sidelined each time more truth comes out. I hope it stays that way.
FWIW, Your average GS9 really doesn't compare in influence to them. JMO, YMMV and all that.
