I changed my reservation from CSR to WL!!!!! So excited to stay at the Lodge for our Christmas trip. :santa: :cheer2::cool1::banana: I booked standard view, hung up and thought hmmm a courtyard view would be nice. :rotfl2:

Oooooh! Congrats! I hear WL is the best resort to stay at during the holidays! I'm having trouble deciding where to stay, but it's hard when you don't know your parents' budget. :worried: But it also doesn't help that I want to stay at a lot of resorts. I'm really hoping I can get a PIN for January. According to Mousesavers, in early October, a % Off PIN for January and February was released to the public so I'm crossing my fingers that will happen. The PIN could help me stay at at least a Mod.

Still booked at the BWI in. Water view room waiting for a Fall offer for FD or a room discount but starting to think about downgrading to a Std room to make the trip cheaper. Decisions, decisions :confused3 Had a lot of extra expenses this month so the Vacation account only has $425 in it instead of $600.

Sheila: :wave2: Don't give up! Sure Disney will be releasing some GP codes soon! :) Stay cool ... it's H&H here today as well.

Nothing is ever off the table. :rotfl:

Dani, you are a girl after my heart like HRH!! I never take anything out of consideration and will hold mutliple ressies until the last minute. :)

You two have me wanting to read Wicked again! :rotfl: I'd love to see the theatre production one day. Is it as excellent as the book? :hyper:

Plan is to see Wicked this summer in NYC. Never read the book, should though. :)

Thanks you two. It's good to know that it wouldn't be too much for doing in one day. It's down to IoA or DHS now. Gotta chat to my parents to see which they'd be more up to doing. Since we're staying at AoA, we'd have to drive to IoA. We'd not have the Express thingie so I'm not sure how the lines'll be. Actually, I'm pretty clueless on all of it outside of what you guys have told me and a brief look at the website. :rotfl2:

We did it without express pass (we were at AKL ... oh, should I not bring that up?? :goodvibes)

FYI ... FJ is not an express pass ride ... although there are many other thrill rides that are... You would gain early entrance staying onsite.. But as Pas says, in Sept the crowds shouldn't be that bad. Can you do IoA on a weekday... would help more with any potential crowds.

Yikes, Janet. How'd your glasses go MIA?! Are you wearing contacts in the interim? (I'd be out of commission without my specs... walking into walls and such. :lmao:)

Don't know how my glasses walked away ... one minute they were there , then poof! Luckily I have my old pair but they are not progressive lenses ... been using my prescription sunglasses but it makes it hard to see at night! :upsidedow My eyesight is not terribly bad but legally need them to drive. Kept hoping they would show up ... who knows? i could have accidentally thrown them out!

Going for new specs this week ... I was due for a new pair anyway (the glass is half full view :goodvibes)

Hi everyone! I got back from California late Monday night and had to do chemo yesterday, so I am finally catching up. I am in my airconditioned house and have no plans to leave until the weather breaks. I can do heat, I can do humidity but the combination is too much, especially during a chemo week :scared: But, it gives me time to catch up on the DIS! :surfweb:

Janet, so good to talk this morning! Pictures to come!

Sarah: :welcome: back!! you stay put inside and rest ...looking forward to the pix!

And it was great talking to you as well! :hugs:

Well here I am again trying to catch up!!! The internet at the cabin is so slow that I just can't do a multi-quote and as I was reading to catch up I forgot to take notes and my poor old brain just can't remember anything! :rotfl2:

Sorry your internet is bear-y slow .... :rotfl2: (ok, bad I know!)

I changed my reservation from CSR to WL!!!!! So excited to stay at the Lodge for our Christmas trip. :santa: :cheer2::cool1::banana: I booked standard view, hung up and thought hmmm a courtyard view would be nice. :rotfl2:

:cool1: Excellent choice always and especially for the holidays!!

I talked to my mom and she said I would have to stay at a Value unless I get a PIN that would make a Mod about the same as a Value. After pricing them out, it would still be around $240 more to stay at a Mod if the PIN from this year is the same for next year. It's about $10 more a night to stay at AoA versus the AS Resorts which isn't that bad so I will have to decide between the Values.

I know I don't want to stay at POP, (Sorry Janet!) so that brings it down to 4 resorts. Mom thinks I'm being ridiculous when I said that it's going to be a hard decision. She just doesn't understand.

Does anyone have any Free Disney apps they recommend? I downloaded the Touring Plans Line App and this Disney Park app, but I don't know if there are any other good apps out there that I should download.

:thumbsup2 You really can't go wrong with a town made of chocolate:rotfl: Looked into the Hershey hotels YIKES. Cheaper to go to WDW :rotfl2:

Yes, it must take some $$ to make chocolate, as the Hershey hotel prices are not very "sweet"!! :rotfl2: Stay with us ... and drive 96 miles back and forth ... I have 2 couches, a spare bedroom, maybe can get DS to stay over someone else's house for the night, that's one more bedroom.. :rotfl2:

Do you mind a semi-messy house??? Oh, maybe you can find my glasses if you come!!

Edited to add ...

OOPS ... didn't realize you had posted already about not wanting to stay at POP ... but can I ask why??? [realize that POP is not for everyone but just curious as to why no POP love ) Sure that Minnie&Nana would like to know too! :) Thanks Hannah!

That is one of the big reasons I wanted to go in January, instead of December, besides crowds and price. I get the chance to see my RC family! :grouphug: I will let you lovely ladies know the minute I know what days I will be looking at.

That would be awesome!! :cheer2:

Now do I want to stay in a TLM room at AoA or do I want to try ASMovies or do I want to go for nostalgia and stay at All-Star Sports? There aren't a ton of choices for Values, but it's going to be a hard choice! I hope I get a PIN and maybe I could upgrade to a Moderate! :thumbsup2

Hi Hannah!! FYI ... POP :hippie: and ASMU :rockband: are loosely considered the more "adult" of the values (if that is a factor to you). Plus you have myself and Minnie&Nana (my former cohort in crime) as your RC experts on POP. A few other RCers have stayed there as well, and most recently the RC Queen herself! :worship:

POP is fun, whimsical, energetic and nostalgic all in one and now offers up the King cupcake :cool2:... what more is there to say?? :goodvibes ....

Okay I'll stop now. So there' my POP Pitch, take it or hit a HR at ASSP, or slide right in the animated magic of AoA and those LM rooms. It will be fun to see your plans unfold. :flower3: We'll be with you every step of the way!!

We LOVED Pop!!! And would happily stay there again!!! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 And you can bet I'm trying that King Cupcake in August ... it sounds a little quirky but that makes it fit right at POP!! :rotfl2: Chocolate, peanut butter, banana custard and candied bacon?? Yum ....No counting carbs for this RCer!

That sounds oddly delicious! :upsidedow

Awe! You ladies are the sweetest! :lovestruc POP sounds nice, but I'm not sure if it's the one for me. If I do choose AoA, I could visit POP, but knowing myself, I will probably change my mind though. It's not a big deal to me if I'm at a more "adult" resort or not. I just want to have lots of fun and I think ASMo or AoA might be the ones for me. Those are the two I'm really looking at.

As for why I am not into POP, I am not a fan of the icons and statues that they use. They don't feel Disney to me. I love nostalgia, but I want to be immersed in the Disney icons and statues like AoA and ASMo. Maybe it will be different once I actually go there, but I want something super Disney! I am definitely willing to give every resort a try though! :goodvibes

Hello All!!:wave2:

I briefly scanned the recent pages...y'all have been busy chatting today:thumbsup2

We made it safe and sound...arrived a little before noon. Check in was GREAT! There was a CM to greet us and take us directly to the lounge...by the way, we did online checkin...super friendly and answered all questions. Our room wasn't ready, but not a big deal. We had lunch ressies at TRex at 1:30. After parking at DTD, AKL text me to tell me the room was ready. Perfect view!!! Lots of animals to look at...kids are going crazy...all is well:thumbsup2

Food was really good in lounge...got there around 5ish...more details to come;) Too bad it's raining, but any rainy day at Disney is better than a sunny day at home:goodvibes

By the way...WiFi is complimentary. I must have missed that somewhere when reading about AKL...maybe it's something new.

Will hopefully get some pics for y'all!

Talk to you later!
Heather

I am so glad you made it safe and sound! Sounds like your trip is starting out perfectly besides the rain! The free wifi is new! I believe it started sometime in the Spring to test the waters. I am so happy about that! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more about the trip! :cool1:

Glad to hear you made it safely!!!! Enjoy your vacation, take lots of pics! ;)

And yes, as you found out, wi-Fi is now complimentary in all WDW resorts now. :goodvibes

Hope my friends here can help me with this quiestion. Someone on the WL thread mentioned that they had a disabled veteran discount. Now I've heard of an active and retired military discount but nothing for disabled vets. Anyone here know anything about this???? :confused3

Hi GG,

Military Disney Tips Blog covered this topic recently. Steve explains the differences in eligibility. Hope this is helpful. :goodvibes

Good morning to all you crazy Changers and happy first day of summer.

Hi Kook,
Happy First Day of summer to you, too! Hope you're having a great day!

We got our Photopass+ voucher in the mail yesterday, now we officially have everything. I cannot wait!!!
Mousemommy,
It won't be long until you all arrive at that amazing Wilderness Lodge!:thumbsup2

Thanks Marie...not a cancellation...a postponement, which will turn into afull family trip I am sure! And the family will get a weekend away somewhere local. All of us!!!!!
pas,
So glad it's not a cancellation. Postponements give us a little extra planning time, and that's always fun!:goodvibes

Heather Safe travels !! Looking forward to seeing all your incredible pictures!!
Janet,
I look forward to Heather's amazing pictures, too. They are such fun. I have been reading your Pop thread, I'm thinking we are going to give it a try next year. :thumbsup2
Janet, are you anywhere near a town called Annville? My brother lives there. I just wondered, he mentions going to Hershey now and then.

Pinky Swears just need to be banned on this thread.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

pas Hershey is one of those places we talked about going to but never made it there...sounds like a fun trip. My Mom use to talk about going there back in the 30's maybe when it was just the factory. I recall her saying the entire town smelled of chocolate
sjs,
A town that smells like chocolate??? Three cheers for that!:cheer2:

Nothing is ever off the table. :rotfl:
Disneydreamin,
Isn't that the truth? :rotfl:

Now that I've refreshed...

I'm seriously :lmao: at that 'pinky swear' discussion.
Missoutandabout,
Me too!!!:rotfl2:

New York can wait. WDW can't! I haven't been to WDW in January since my first trip in 2000. I am so ecstatic! :goodvibes I have to wait for my mom to get home from work so I can figure out when, how long and which resort. To start out with of course because I know it's going to change. :rotfl:

Have fun planning!:cool1:

Hi everyone! I got back from California late Monday night and had to do chemo yesterday, so I am finally catching up. I am in my airconditioned house and have no plans to leave until the weather breaks.

Grumpy and Minnie & Nana, I am not too far behind. My older DD will be 29 next month. Where did the time go?
JungleCruiser,
Great idea to stay out of the sun and just take good care of yourself.:goodvibes

My daughter will be 30 this year. Very fun there are a group of us with grown kids close in age. :cool1:

I changed my reservation from CSR to WL!!!!! So excited to stay at the Lodge for our Christmas trip. :santa: I booked standard view, hung up and thought hmmm a courtyard view would be nice. :rotfl2:
Val,
Great change, WL is gorgeous at Christmas! :thumbsup2

Heather,
Glad you made it, and are getting settled. Rain or not, know you'll have a lovely time!:thumbsup2

This turned into a multi-quote-a-palooza!!! :rotfl2: So fun to catch up with the RC family! to anyone I missed.
Hurray for summer, it's finally officially here!!:beach:
