jenny it's okay to complain .... being a stay at home mom is a hard job. Sometimes it's lonely too. My babies are now almost 31 and 33 .... I stayed at home with them. When they were both in school I worked some little part time jobs with the understanding that I had one day off during the school week so I could work in their classes and of course I was there for all the parties and school trips. I remember at one time we needed extra income so I delivered newspapers in the middle of the night. DH worked two jobs sometimes to make ends meet. My point in telling you this is not to make myself look good but to let you know that it can be done and you'll look back on it as the best time of your life. We raised wonderful, successful, kind, caring people. I'm so proud of both of them. And as a final note they have both come to me and told me how much they appreciate that I stayed home and was there for them.

Thank you sooo much for relating and not making me feel like a bad mother for complaining!!!

Oh, goodness, not a bad mother at all! Being a mom is both rewarding and challenging, but it's still a 24-7 job. We totally understand.

My mom, sister and I did something similar back in 2007. Since my brothers and dad were in Texas for a bowling tournament, my mom decided to take us to California. We started up at the top with the Charles Schultz Museum, went down to San Francisco and went to Pier 39, Fisherman's Warf and Ghiradelli Square, drove Route 1 and did some other stuff, we went to San Jose and went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium we went to Hollywood and saw the Chinese Theater and went to lunch with one of my dad's grade school friends and eventually made it to Disneyland for the last leg of the trip. It was so much fun! I loved everything about Disneyland! It's not as big as Disney World, but it was so much fun. :goodvibes

Ah, my family will have to do this one day. We only made it as far south as Santa Barbara and as far north as Monterey. Would love to take my kiddo back there for the aquarium and the kayaking. A total blast to do. :goodvibes

After reading of all the different food they offer at DL, now I'm getting a bit tempted... :faint:

PACKcrastinating....

Love this. :lmao: I suffered from this affliction on our last trip. Though it probably had something to do with the destination including my MIL.

August 11th Dessert party...want to laugh...it's DH &Is anniversary...we were married twice...yep I divorced and remarried the same fella..I was young, impulsive, stupid....anyway....how perfect. I forgot the anniversary...we celebrate our original never this one :)

Love this too! :rotfl2: You two were meant to be.

... I do love my life, but it seems there are never enough hours in the day to squeeze in me time, let alone DH and I time. Just needed to vent...thanks :flower3:

 Care to come over for a glass of wine? We can commiserate together! ;) There truly aren't enough hours in the day.

The smilies are going nuts again...cannot find anything...guess I can consider it a way to keep my brain on it's toes!!!:rotfl2: Ya know, the cup always half full.;)

The smilies wanted to throw us for a loop today, indeed. Can't keep those little buggers in line...

Hope youre feeling better

Thanks Princess Pas. :goodvibes My headache's gone, just some major lethargy now. Today's a "kiddo day off" thankfully so no playing taxi driver. She just went upstairs and changed out of her "jim-jams" and came back down in her "Aloha Minnie" shirt; we're both having a lazy, Disney-sorta day.

So, I was just looking at the calendar and I saw that our 10th Anniversary falls during my kiddos Spring Break. Since we've always wanted to try the Flower and Garden at Epcot this is a perfect time for a 2013 trip! The problem is that this is also Easter week. :rolleyes2

I won't pay peak rack rates for CL much less deluxe at all. :scared:

So, what is the consensus around here on the best mod? I was thinking CSR since the boys would love the pool, but DD does so much better at a zero entry. CBR has one, but they only have double beds though, right?

The Nemo pool is zero entry. I wonder if AOA is cheaper than 2 mods?

Thank you sooo much for relating and not making me feel like a bad mother for complaining!!!
You are a great mom! The kiddos know how to push our buttons it is what they do. I think venting is very theraputic. I tend to bottle things up...get all upset, only to later vent and realize I should've done it sooner! If you ever need to talk and not in public...feel free to send a PM

A "for sure" resort with this group!!! :rotfl2:

Do not cancel your August trip .... Mama Linda says!!!
I won't, we need it!!! It is paid in full except airfare, and the price is less than one night AKL WITH the BB...so Mama you think the Jan resort may change :rotfl:

You all will not believe what just almost happened. I almost booked one night RBC for Danimal and I. It was only $480! :scared1: I am still considering it. A night to just get away from everyone and cuddle in a king sized bed. If it is available on payday then it's meant to be. If not then I won't stress it. :thumbsup2
I would totally do that. 480 is a great price...OK I am not helping...;)

I hear you! I actually don't work at all, and there are days I feel like I would pay to go work. :scared: :rotfl:

I do love my life too, but I know what you mean. I was planning on returning to work this fall when my 6 year old starts 1st grade. Unfortunately, nature had other plans and now I will probably wait another few years to stay home with DD1. I can't even work at night because DH often gets called to travel (some times for weeks at a time!) at a moments notice. Ugh!

Vent away! I don't think there is one right answer, just what is right for each family.

The kiddos grow so fast, it's hard just getting through the day sometime though ...time goes so quick....and we have each other :grouphug:

LOL I am going to quote myself! No really, I feel like starting a thread
"For SAHM's : when did you know it was time to get a full time job"

I know my kids are only young once, but after 8 years of being home all day with them...I feel a little frustrated some days. Working in the evening when DH gets home is all well and good, and a great option to have BUT it is getting very tiring. DH and I are like two ships passing in the night sometimes, and the nights I have off we are either coaching the girls soccer teams, or some other activity. I guess most families are like this too. I do love my life, but it seems there are never enough hours in the day to squeeze in me time, let alone DH and I time. Just needed to vent...thanks :flower3:

Is January a shorter trip than Dec? Maybe we should save WL for Dec, the Christmas decorations and it's one of the cheaper deluxes. Of course I love WL so I could stay there both trips and come to think of it they are almost a year apart. :confused3

I think it depends on each person for January...and probably for December as well. Pretty sure pas is coming for 2 or 3 ngts in January...Janet and I are coming for 4 or 5 ngts (I am very much hoping for 5, but with the cost of tkts now...ugh...not sure...have a 3 days on a 10 day non-exp hopper). Also, guess we should consider the cost for the ngts with less sharing a room, yes?

December - Rosie and I discussed 6 ngts, traveling mid week for the best fares. I will assume pas will come for 2 or 3 again...and Janet maybe 4? With cost of airfare longer works best for you, yes? It will be good to have days settled by January so you'll know if you'll arrive before or after and hold those nights, yes?) Clear as mud?? :confused3

 We all did vote for WL CL...it's coming back to`me now :rotfl: I wasn't sure if it was a "for sure" on the resort.

For my August trip...I priced out CR...again...not in the budget. Money is tight here...for now hopefully...DH mentioned we could cancel the trip in August but no way. We will make it work...:goodvibes
a I am too stubborn to give up RPC in September...no way!!!

Definitely keep whatever makes HRH happy (and you too!!)!! ::yes::

Both trips I'll probably come in a day earlier than everyone else just so I can get my inner time clock adjusted .... don't want to be crashing on you guys or sleeping away half the day! :scared1: I may also stay a couple of days afterwards ... just depends on $$$$. I'm hoping that when I'm there in Oct I can book a BB for Jan and then when we are there in Jan I'll book a BB for Dec. Those nights will be at POP or AoA to save money. Good idea to travel mid week to save on airfare .... one perk of being retired! :goodvibes

Jeez, I am so thankful I stumbled over this thread months ago...I wish I could pop over to have a glass of wine with all of you! Thank you all so much....:grouphug:

I LOVE DL! It will always be my favorite... I also love CA... all of it and have been blessed to visit most of it...even traveling PCH many times...be still my heart. Easy to be tempted...and oh, what fun you'll have! We took the train (Southwest Chief) twice from Chicago - absolutely loved it as a kid!

Love this. :lmao: I suffered from this affliction on our last trip. Though it probably had something to do with the destination including my MIL.

:rotfl2: Hey, wait...I'm a MIL!!!:crazy2:

AOA is proving to be a huge hit and might be fun!! When CBR first opened we loved it...but we had only stayed at Poly & CR and wanted to try the new resort...it was a bit of an adjustment for about 48 hours, but then we loved it so much we returned 3 more times!

Now, I am not a huge fan of the mods - I know many DISers feel differently, but for me, the cost of a mod is so high now, that I'd rather try AOA because it is brand new. Seems to be how I try resorts - if it's new, then I give it a try (with the exception of AS)...or if it's just undergone a major refurb... So, this yr I might stay at POR (just finishing a refurb) or AOA, but later this yr would have me at WL b/c of that refurb.

I am absolutely no help at all!!! Sorry!!

Anyway, that will be a very busy time to be at Disney...Easter week...wow...if you don't mind the crowds or rack rate, then choose where you will all be most comfortable and fits the budget you want. :thumbsup2

Lazy days ar the bestest. I hate migraines, especially since DH is never home when I get one....

as for packing....last month started at 4p done by 6p....not movtivated without pressure I guess...or just lazy ;)

Ihope sis meant RPC....think RPC King room...maybe

DH said we never spend too much time in our YC suite, so the cheaper the better. And I prefer a value over a mod...I'm weird sorry....

HRH and I HAVE to stay at GF!

As for Dec hopefully 3 nights fo me. Jan will depend on that darn airfare

Thanks for the input it does help! We won't mind the crowds, I don't think. I think we only did maybe 20 rides/attractions over 10 days on this past trip. If we can't walk on, we move on! :confused3 I know we are weird, but we just love being there! pixiedust:

I've lurked some, but this is my first post of the day, so I apologize that I'm not multi-quoting yet:flower3:. I just got off the phone with...well you know who it's going to be...WDTC...who else?

When I last called (or was it the time before that?) Kidani Savanna View wasn't available, but now it is.

Question (and I think I already know the answer):

Should I change (don't laugh now), 3 nights AoA Suite to 4 nights Kidani one bedroom Savanna View?

Advice, pointers, additions?

Tell me what you guys think about this potential teensy-tiny "In Room Surprise" I'm thinking of doing for our September stay at the BC...

Kiddo, hubs and I check in on a Wednesday early afternoon and are going to the MNSSHP that Friday. I'm a Halloween freak so I was thinking of doing a tiny surprise in the room. I'd love to have this arranged for that Wednesday evening we arrive...

  • Get a bottle of bubbly along with a bottle of sparkling cider (for the kiddo) and 3 flutes. Also, 3 "Halloween themed" cupcakes. Not sure if this is something Private Dining could do or not. :confused3
  • I'd bring along some fabric Halloween bunting and a bit of bats and jack o' lantern confetti. I'd also provide a "Letter from Mickey and Minnie" for my kiddo saying how happy they are to "hear she's coming to their Halloween party this Friday."

I've just emailed IPO for their advice and recommendations.

Whatcha think? Lame? Should I add something to it? :scratchin

WL or AK .... that's a hard one! I love them both .... could be why my next trip I'm spending 2 nights at each! :rotfl2:

AoA has been tempting me, but I'd love to stay at AKV ... well, really AKL-CL but either would suffice. I'm of no help whatsoever... :joker:

pas I know you would sis! ;) I will have to decide. Since it's a king I could actually have both kids in the bed... Hmmmm some good old family bonding time, or spend the almost $500 on something else. Tough decision!

NO! Not my precious WL! The AoA suite is booked before WL/CL, so Kidani would be instead of AoA. No way I'd ever cancel WL - I still have 10 nights there;)

I could, but when I had three resorts booked (AoA/YC/WL) DD thought that was one too many and didn't want to move that much:confused3, DH doesn't care though.
