WL is always last - save the best for last:thumbsup2. If we weren't doing a split with 8 more nights at WL, I wouldn't even be considering it. But, since DH gave the go ahead to book almost anything...

OK, this is getting very interesting. Three Deluxe lovers are supportive of AoA - I'm sooooo on the edge now!

Just read this week's AllEars. Read about AoA and watched the video of the FS! Looks like fun. Your DD could have her own bathroom AND a choice of the Murphy bed or the pull out couch! :cool1: I also looked at the menus, some things look very yummy...and they have Mickey Waffes for breakfast :yay: Go for it!

popcorn:: I'll be patiently waiting. I won't believe it until I see it...the Queen of Club Level NOT staying club level????:rolleyes1

I say go book AoA, Kook! I would stay at AoA, but DBF doesn't want to stay in The Little Mermaid room.

DBF and I watched some specials on Disney World on Sunday and he's excited for Disney World. He's not excited like us, but him saying he couldn't wait to go and showing no sign of excitement whatsoever is such an improvement, I'll take what I can get. :rotfl: He doesn't show excitement very well so it's hard to tell if he's even excited for anything. :lmao:

He only cares about the roller coasters for the most part. They showed EE and he pointed to the screen and said he wanted to go on it. I told him that it was really fun and he was like, "Really?" as if he didn't know I rode it twice on my last trip. I believe he said he would probably like ToT the most. I'm not sure if he just said that or if he said that he would probably like ToT the most at MGM. He also asked if he was really going on Dinosaur alone because I refuse to go on that ride. :sad2:

He seemed to like the idea of the VIP tour (or KttK). I had my handy dandy WDW 2011 Guide on me while watching it so we could look up prices for stuff they were talking about. I think he also like the idea of eating V&A. If only we weren't poor.

It was nice to just watch it and discuss it. He hates it when I talk his ear off about Disney so I'm glad he was ok with watching the specials. He said he would rather watch them than the cooking shows I love to watch.:rotfl:

And Happy Belated Birthday to your DD, Janet!!! :bday:

Guess what?!?!

I've entered THE 3 ZONE!!!!!!

DisneyOct2010032.jpg

Lillian...glad to hear you had a little 'Disney' time with your DBF:thumbsup2 We would love to do that tour that you were speaking of. Of course we might have to wait a few years until the kids are older, but it sounds like it would be lots of fun!

Raining here now....was hoping for some pool time today, but probably not going to happen! Guess that means more time on the DisBoards:rolleyes1

Ah, the playground on the WL beach. I plan on getting acquainted with it quite well over the course of our 11 days!!! :goodvibes

11 days??!! :woohoo: Yep...you will! When we were there the last time, the kids were still getting up really early, so I would take a book & coffee...sit in a lounge chair and let them play....it was :cloud9: And since you're an early morning riser like me...make sure you take time to walk around when the sun is coming up....soooooooo beautiful!!! Y'all will really like WL!! DH says it is probably his favorite in terms of atmosphere...he loves the boat ride over to MK, too. Ya know we are huge monorail idiots, and Bill has always said that if the monorail ran through WL, he would be there every time. The CMs there are super friendly, also...very welcoming. They make you feel right at home. In fact, when DS10 was looking for Hidden Mickeys, one of the CMs stopped what he was doing and spent about 15 minutes with Stephen showing him the places to search and explaining the significance of Hidden Mickeys. Are you going to do Whispering Canyon or Artist Point? AP is on our list to try...one day.

Ok...let me stop blabbing about WL.....it's just such a great resort that I can't help myself:goodvibes

OMG! This place is amazing!!!! I think our room is bigger than my house! Wish we were here longer than 2 days! I took many pics to share when I get home :) hope everyone is doing well. Reading and posting from my phone is awful!
I am so jealous! But ITA about reading and posting from the phone. I hate it!

I have no idea what happened to the rest of my quotes, I only ended up with two of them!

pas - welcome back! Glad you are feeling better!
JC - congrats on the chemo break!
Those WL photos that are being posted are GORGEOUS! (sorry - Don't remember the poster!) Luckily I can't be tempted to change to that one because we won't fit!
Mousemommy - I don't think we ever made it to the playground at AKL last year - how sad is that? I think it is because we couldn't get past the pool!
Kook - I also really want to try AofA. I think we would love the extra space. I have two problems though - 1) since its a value, the FD discount only gives you QS and 2) I haven't been able to get an answer on the comfort of the murphy bed.

And now for the self quote (which apparently didn't get lost in cyber space!) I still need some help with these two questions if anyone has advice:
Can someone tell me how the daybeds work at BC/YC? We have a party of 5. If they don't give us a daybed, one of my kids won't have a place to sleep? :confused3

So here is my big question:
7 day trip planned at the beginning of October. It will be hotter than we normally prefer at WDW so I am planning more pool time than usual. This was the main reason I booked BC as my kids will love SAB. However, now they have added the combined price for the PH and WPM passes. So it would only cost us about $20 more to add a water park day. However, I am worried about fitting everything in. Do we need a water park with SAB? Will the pool be enough? What are your thoughts?

pas Welcome home, hope you feel better soon

Janet Happy Belated Birthday to your DD!

Sarah Glad to hear you were able to hold off opn the Chemo before your trip :thumbsup2

Kook I love the looks of AOA and the food selections at the resort sound amazing. I vote yes too

Hannah glad you had a great 1st day on your new job!

MM 39 Days!

 to everyone I missed

My girls cannot wait to do the Hidden Mickey Hunt!!!! Yes, we are doing Whispering Canyon for lunch one day and Artist Point for our Date Night!!!! :woohoo: The menu really looks amazing, I am sooooo excited!!!

Basketlacey here is my two cents. If having a daybed is important I would book a stay at someplace where it is guaranteed. BC has too may ifs.. You are suppose to be given a room with a daybed "if" you are a family of 5

You may or may not get a balcony.

As far as SAB and the water parks when we stayed at YC we went to TL and only used the quiet pool as SAB was too loud(noisy) and too busy to make it enjoyable

Doing the happy dance NO CHEMO UNTIL I RETURN FROM CALIFORNIA!

Welcome home Jeanette. Feel better! Glad you slept the whole way home. I hope everyone else is feeling better. Hugs to you

:banana::banana: No chemo til Cali dance  FANTASTIC!!! I am better! Sore throat, still had a fever but it's better. Everyone else is better. Kids even wanted to go to school today :confused3
Welcome Home! Hope you feel better real soon!
Thanks! I am good...and back home with my RC family! :yay:

Jeanette: You were gone waaaaay too long:hug:. There's nothing worse than being sick on vacation. I'm glad you didn't fly so that you could at least pace yourself and stop when you needed to. Janet did such a great job, as usual, of keeping us updated and in line. There was no funny business while you were gone Well, except for maybe Deena

PLEASE get lots of fluid and rest!!!
OK...what did Deena do :rotfl: Missed you too

My thought on AoA :woohoo: Do it! As someone a little nervous to go back to a value (and who cringes at the though of a Deluxe without CL) I loved Pop! And from what I saw across the bridge...very cool! You can job along the lake...me thinks...you'll like...but will you and DH end up in the living room...or will DD do the Inova bed
OMG! This place is amazing!!!! I think our room is bigger than my house! Wish we were here longer than 2 days! I took many pics to share when I get home :) hope everyone is doing well. Reading and posting from my phone is awful!
:dance3: Awesome...make sure you send the pics to k&a&c'smom so all our GF friends can enjoy as well!!!
Pas...welcome back! Hope you feel better soon!:goodvibes
Thanks  I know Summer is here when you & step are back on the DIS!!! And you are SO close to your AKL CLstay!!!

Thanks to everyone who is excited as I am for no chemo :rainbow: I told my on oncologist when I return I will absolutely commit to chemo every other week all summer, until Sept 16th...when we leave for WDW :rolleyes1
Well September is Fall after all...so we will get you through te Chemo Summer...promise!!!!
Guess what?!?!

And now for the self quote (which apparently didn't get lost in cyber space!) I still need some help with these two questions if anyone has advice:
Thank you!!!! For a balcony...I would do YC, and you can get a rollaway if no daybed...as for water park...my kiddos are too young to make the most out of the water park for $20 more though...I'd take the trip to the water park over SAB....and book say...Poly/CR/GF....that's just me (guaranteed Daybed)
pas Welcome home, hope you feel better soon
 I thought of you (and Christine) often....we didn't do the balloons at WDW since we never did the parks...but your sons and Christine's Toby got balloons from Katie at Universal...the girls remembered  Katie got a balloon everywhere she went at RPR for her birthday! :goodvibes

Hugs to all the family I missed...I decided not to try to get through 20 pages today......janet....recap...PLUEEEZZZZEEE...I will catch up just not today...too dizzy...I will attempt a quick TR....:rolleyes1

junglecruiser: Congrats on the chemo free-zone. :goodvibes It's Cali time for you, proud Mama! :cool1:

pas130: Welcome home! Hope you feel better soon. :flower3:

JanetB: Happy Birthday Wishes to Sam from the crazy lady at Piano Bob! :bday:

WDWKOOK:
I also can't wait to stay AoA FS -- Cars. :drive: As for burgers... we had burgers and shakes last time we stayed at POP because we heard the shakes were awesome. Shakes WERE good but the burgers were bad. Maybe due to the later hour but hopefully that shoe-leather taste and dryness doesn't apply to AoA quality. PS -- I can't wait to try the Innova Table Bed. I looked into them 10 yrs ago for my home office, but since they were still a very small company, it would have cost thousands $$ to ship it to FL. More than the cost of the bed. :upsidedow

Basketlacy: If I were a paying family of five, and I checked-in at BC and was given a 2-queen room, I would camp out in the lobby until they FOUND me a daybed or a roll-away. They really are obligated to give you enough beds for every paying member of your family. ...As for SAB vs waterpark, I'm sure kiddies would love a waterpark no matter how cool their home resort pool may be. ;) We old fuddie duddies are perfectly happy with SAB and lots of kids seem to like the activities and amenities at SAB from what we see there.

pas130: Welcome home! Hope you feel better soon. :flower3:

I am pretty darn good! Just got off the phone with CRO....no availability RPC with the BB offer for my HRH & I trip...but you know with the 35% off that's a lot of snacks I can buy my little Princess

Pas...yep...it's definitely summer vacation!...kind of :woohoo: Trying to get these classes finished before WDW/cruise. Who wants to take school work on vacation??!!

Didn't realize you didn't do any parks at WDW....we aren't either. We're only doing Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. Not sure which one, yet. Hopefully we'll like AKL. Faith decided that she did NOT want to go there...she wants the Poly CL. I took Magic's advice and told DD that there would be dessert and drinks at AKL CL, too.....didn't work. She then said..."there's no beach." Oh well, Faith is out of luck this trip:rolleyes:

Looking forward to your mini TR! Sorry to hear y'all got sick. That's one of my worst fears while on vacation...the BUG! But no worries, right?!....You'll be back at WDW soon enough;)

Basketlacy....I think Magic has the right idea!!! ..."I would camp out in the lobby until they FOUND me a daybed or a roll-away!" :rotfl: That's sure to get their attention!

AKL is a fantabulous non park resort...we did that in 2010 Pools are great too!!! I wants to do a park day but no one else did! It was too darn hot I guess :confused3

:wizard: Pixie dust all school work done before cruise!

WELCOME BACK JEANETTE!!!
I hope you had a great time, and we are happy to have you back!!! Small recap---I'm staying at Mystic Dunes in a 1BR villa with W/D, Jacuzzi, full Kitchen for $481 which is a steal for 5 nights, got a great rate at Dollar rental cars with GPS and Toll Pass, Added Economy Comfort to my flight. I'll be looking at about 15 places give or take--we just added more last night. I know I'm eating at Via Napoli on Sunday night, but will probably do quick service the rest of the time--except for maybe Fulton's. I love Fulton's.

Heather... My math may be a little off..... but I think we're there the same time!!! June 21-26 for me!!

Sarah.... Great news!! Hope you're well and hope you have a great time!!

Candace... you're close!! I can't believe it's finally here!!!

Janet... Happy Belated to your DD!! They grow up fast!!

Kook.... Canceling AoA for October broke my heart. I want to stay there soooooooooooooo bad. I'm thinking that I may stay there for New Years Eve so we don't have to drive. I think it'll be fun!!

Lacey... Good luck with the daybed!!

Sheila, Hannah, Marie, Linda, Linda Magic, Padawans, and everyone I've missed:  HI!!!

I did 2 updates to my TR yesterday... but I think it fell to page 2, lol. Have a great day everyone!!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes. I am off work today and going to sit at my computer and feed my Disney addiction. My hubby doesn't get it, but that's okay, as long as he lets me indulge. I've taken him to WDW once and he was so overwhelmed since he was expecting a Six Flags type park and experience, lol. Although not a Disney lover (gasp!) He's agreed to return and he wants to stay at the AKL. We stayed at ASMu and really enjoyed it but when we had dinner at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, he turned to me and said, "This is where we should have stayed!" so I made a decision that our next trip we would spend at least 1 night at AKL. Now it's a matter of budgeting. The values fit my budget best as we are also saving to buy our first ever house, but DH is more of a pool lounger and drink sipper and would rather be kicked back at the resort than in the parks, so I thought a deluxe would be better suited for him, and I wouldn't complain either about staying deluxe. Too bad they don't offer a "hotel flight" so you could stay in several over 1 trip.

Gotta update myself on your TR...after staying offsite DH doesn't ever want to stay onsite...except RPR :rolleyes1 He loved Pop...the man loves a bargain...

Most of our DHs don't get it...that's why we have each other! AKL is amazing, he will enjoy exploring the resort as well!. I will keep fingers crossed for a good discount, luckily AKL tends to be one of the cheaper deluxes....the pool is great...and there are flamingoes over in the pool area:dance3:

Good morning RCers! :goodvibes

Well all your prayers and positive thoughts worked. The doctor was able to get all the cancer off of DH's ear on the second try! So now back to his checkups unless he notices something else. His doctor has been really great just telling us to call anytime if we notice anything. This time they got him in on the day he called and then had the surgery scheduled within a week. So his next scheduled face and head treatment is in Oct when he gets back from WDW. Thanks again everyone.

So my grandson called the other night ... he talked to me for over TWO HOURS! :scared1: He is enjoying the CP .... is still working in the stores at the All Stars. In the next couple of weeks the should be sending out the paperwork for extensions. If he gets excepted he'll be there at least until January if not the program ends in August. He is trying to pull some strings to transfer to HS in August to either a shop or an attraction.

Now after all that rambling what I wanted to tell you all was that he told me that AoA is amazing and he's so jealous that he isn't working there. He loves the store .... starts out all black and white and as you advance in further begins to get more colorful. So I may need to add a day at the end of my Oct trip at POP so I can walk across the bridge and see for myself! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is having a great day!
