Pas happy belated birthday!!!

Our Trip sorry I haven't been posting much, Portofino wifi was horrible.
our trip if magical upgrades!! we checked into Portofino and got upgrade to Bay View with huge balcony on top floor!! wow! Wifi aside, Portofino was amazing!! We had 3 full days at Universal. Both Harry Potters, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley theming was incredible!! And so were the rides! The Universal simulator rides blows anything wdw has out of the water with their technology. Having said that, It seemed Gringotts was closed down more then it was open!!! We did get to ride it our 3 rd morning, and it was amazing.
Got to love Front of the Line passes at Universal!!
Our last night we were back at Portofino in time to eat dinner from Sals on the Piazza and listen to the singers.

We checked into GF yesterday morning, had booked SL and got upgraded to RPC with a deluxe room the Pixie Dust Faire has bern working overtime!!! RPC is amazing!! I don't want to leave!! We are at GF 14 nights, but only booked CL our first 2 nights. Did I mention I don't want to leave RPC?
Yesterday we had a TL day. Today we are having a resort morning, sadly my youngest daughter has a 1:50 DME, she has to go back to work! She's been with us 2 weeks on this amazing trip and I'm going to miss her .
This afternoon we ( my other daughter & I) will nip into MK for a couple of hours. Untill appie time

Not too much to report. Finally found a good boarding place for our pup. I met the owner and I think Mr Milo is going to have a great "vacation" too. I'm feeling good about it.

Today is finish packing day and I drive 3.5 hrs with dd to Buffalo tomorrow for sophomore year.

A handful of friends met at our house last night before heading out together. I must of looked bad 'cause they all hugged me even the guys

Ugh not only will I miss dd but I'll miss the bff's too

It's such a mixed time of year - excitement, anticipation, sadness at separation... too much!!!

First of all, WHOA on your awesome upgrades!!! Hope there is some pixie dust left for us next month!!!

So glad you got to enjoy the time with your DDs!!!

For Universal: We loved the theming of WWoHP when we were there a few years ago... however we felt that the streets were WAY too narrow and we found that the ride in the castle was broken about 70% of the time. We lucked out and went ahead and did the 'walkthrough' (which took an hour because of the crowd) and right as we got close to the actual ride, it was up and running... except for audio. It was cute but the crowds were crazy -- which is saying something because it was a Wednesday in the middle of October.

I'm glad the trip is going well and I hope the rest of the time is magical!!!

DD7 LOVES 2nd grade... all one day of it. She's a little sad that her close friends are in the other class but I think that will only help her - she will either A) focus less on talking and more on learning or B) make new friends which is not as great for her studies but great skill for life.

DD1 is teasing us with walking. She will walk with us if we hold one of her hands (and she full on steamrolls ahead when she does it), she'll stand up in the middle of a room, and today she started dancing while standing. I was really hoping she would be an independent walker by the trip but we're happy that she can at least toddle along with some help.

DD7 saw a commercial online for the Frozen stuff at HS and was super excited that we might be able to do it. She has no clue about the package (or the sing-a-long) so DH and I are tickled that we can surprise her with the special stuff.

Hope all is well!!! *fingers crossed* we hear something this week from medical about Japan!!!!

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY PAS!!

Love the plans! and I hope you get the BoG FP! My TA was calling about a different situation (trying to find out about the mysterious $50 credit some people are talking about with WL) and the operator mentioned BoG was open for our arrival day, so TA checked for our MK day and got it! Didn't get the credit (not sure if they are only giving it to people under certain promotions... we're under MIL which is pretty reduced) but the BoG FP helped me get over that pretty quickly.

We're going to try and get one the day we check into SoG. If we don't get one then, we'll try our MK day.

Wookie, love the cups, and love all your ideas for your holiday party. I’m sure you will do justice to that Santa hat (and it will look even better than the model). Congrats to Joey on his permit and his success behind the camera.

Add me to the list of changers!!! I've changed my mind so much my head hurts, looks like I will be in good company here?!?

Quick background/current problem: my family (DH,DD8,DS4) stayed at CBR last year and really loved it, we want to go again and looked at late Jan/early Feb'15 depending on flight costs and settled with 1st wk of Feb then some awesome posters here made me aware of a dance competition ending on our arrival day at WDW and a cheer group coming in towards our last days, and that's all it took to take my perfect plan into a weeks worth of staring at the computer, looking up all other moderates, looking at deluxe if there's a RO discount, you name it I have every scenario on a post-it! My thoughts:
1- Stay at CBR and hope these groups will not effect our stay (preferred room, few meals at food court)
2-POFQ- theme does nothing for me but would be budget friendly
3-Throw in the towel and hope for a discount at AKL or WL
4- So I've got nothing yet but I'm sure by the end of the day I will have another brilliant thought to add to the list!

I'm glad DD7 loves 2nd grade. I hope she feels the same about it on the last day, and every day in-between, that she did on the first.

I'm sure she'll be walking before long. I know when I was working for my friend last Summer, there were several infants teasing us with walking right before we left for our September 2013 WDW trip. When I came back, one of them walked right up to me as I walked in the front door.

update yes! The girls were totally blown away with upgrade to RPC & I was too!! Rooms are huge. Makes going to regular GF room today look tiny!!!

Totally opposite experience today leaving CL . Didn't get into room until 3:00 which was ok, but when I went into room, it was a King. I booked 2 queens. Bell Service was with me, and he phoned front desk for me, and handed me phone.
I asked person if I could get another room, as my daughter & I don't want to share a King bed for 12 nights. CM says, well you have a pull out!!! I said daughter doesn't want to sleep on a pull out for 12 nights! And I booked 2 queen beds, not a king.

Not the check in experience you'd expect from GF. CM was pretty rude. But I ( nicely) held my ground, and got a room with 2 beds!

Other then this, had a great day. Had 2 Dis meets! Lunch with a couple of ladies from BC/YC thread, and another for dinner with Janet & her daughter Sam! Briefly got to meet Linda at MK too!!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I started the green hats for my girls only trip. Since FXX is showing every Simpsons episode ever, I have been mostly watching that. Then there is my DH, he's been very clingy this weekend thanks to his brother's upcoming divorce. His wife just decided she wanted to be single and wants to be able to date and go out and do whatever. So far, that has meant she has gone out drinking (and driving home after drinking), and even stayed out all night the weekend they had my boys to celebrate her son's birthday and have his birthday party.

I had told them the room number, the bell hop said people always complain and the CL manager handled the situation by trying to take advantage of their guests by LYING.

Deluxe kings are either the 6 octagon rooms or 9 2nd floor king bed with jetted room with a balcony with a MKV view. PERIOD!

So to tell me "I MUST HAVE gotten the larger room" when I was clearly on the 2nd floor was an absolute lie, untruth, fib, ....

So disappointed

However you are so lucky to get so many dis meets !!!

Trish, I keep watching the fall offer and today, it was there. RPC Deluxe King for three nights. I grabbed it. Dh doesn't know, I'll keep it for a surprise for awhile. This is his special birthday trip.

The view for the 2nd floor was nice except for our room with a tree. (I leaned over rail and peeked from adjacent balcony

The lounge areas go from floor 3 to 5. So really we spent time trying every table/seating area, and view from room wasn't really that important.

I found the CM's at the lounge area much friendlier this trip with dd. Just ask if you want anything. I requested champagne or wine both days to have with my tea time. They were very nice about it

Also got a carafe of water to take to our room too.

Thanks, it wasn't too bad. It was the last day of Summer for the boys. Last night, we went to the new Dairy Queen near us to get Blizzards.

I got both the boys on their buses this morning. I'm going to call and see if Joey can ride the same bus as John. John can't ride Joey's bus since the driver of that one doesn't min even telling Joey how she doesn't like John. I was going to try and take a nap this morning, since I got like 3 hours of sleep, but I just couldn't back to sleep. I'm going to spend the morning watching The Simpons and knitting.

Just a quick pop in to say hi to everyone and wish all the RCers at WDW right now happy vacation and hope you have/had lots of WDW pixie dust!

I am just back from BWI and happy to say it is still a top-2 resort for me. We had a nice 4th floor water view room with the big balcony located over Flying Fish just around the corner from actual front the boardwalk (yes, another "funnel cake view" for those who remember my last stay ). While it was certainly very hot, the humidity was low and afternoon storms were predictable and occurred both days while we were back at the room recharging after morning parks and pool time. I had a nice RC meet at AK with JanetB and family, too. All good fun and, of course, I can't wait for my next WDW adventure.

Happy belated birthday pas130. I loved Treasure Island when I lived there, I can totally see why your DH is home-hunting.
