As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Happy Thursday Everybody!
We've dropped to page 2, can't let that happen. :rotfl:

MM-Congrats on your Contemporary booking! :dance3:

Wookie-I love the t-shirts. Great idea! :cool1:

Pas-Your trip is right around the corner. :yay:

Today is the first day of GP Food and Wine booking. It was crazy as usual. Disney and it's IT. :headache: I pretty much got what we wanted, so that's good. Nice folks were posting as they found things open/sold out on the restaurant board. It certainly helped to share information. :thumbsup2
Hope everyone has a great day. :flower3:

Did you see that??? :rotfl2:

Yay!!! So excited!!! We decided on the CR based on the fact that we will have the stroller and lots of STUFF, so figured CR is the most convenient! Can't wait to show baby Mason our favorite place! :hyper: (Oh yeah, his name is Mason...:goodvibes )

Great name choice!
Baby Mason will have a wonderful first trip! :goodvibes

Ok, another question. If I was to put down a deposit on my trip next April now, when I get there in October, can I still ask for a bounceback offer, and if I get a good offer can I change what I've booked and apply the deposit to the new offer? (hope that made sense) or will they tell me I'm not eligible cause I've already put a deposit down on a trip?
Or should I maybe relax and wait till October and see what happens lol. I just don't want to set myself up for a disappointment by waiting.
You can do that if you booked a room only and then the BB is a room only, or if you are transferring the deposit from a package to another package. If you have a room only and are booking a package, or vice versa, then you have to cancel and rebook. You did totally make sense, and I hope my explanation did as well :goodvibes

I have never stayed at VWL, but we stayed at the WL, which I absolutely love. Does the decor of one resort appeal to your kids over the other one?
They like the WL décor better than VWL..and they definitely would pick OKW over VWL décor-wise

I am SO ready!! :dance3: I am glad the F&W stuff is done, another thing to check-off the list...and you can always tweak it too

My trip, which I postponed from this year to next June, was originally booked for AoA in the Little Mermaid section. When I saw the new prices, I just couldn't bring myself to pay so much for a value when I could easily stay at a mod for that price! I switched us over to Coronado Springs where I've always wanted to stay, and am pretty excited!

We are going for 8 days, which is the second-longest I've ever gone for (I went for 3 weeks as a kid!). My boyfriend always laughs that I rush us around - and I really don't, I just plan what parks/what day and a few ADRs! - so this trip I want to make nice and relaxing.

Did I make a good choice switching us over? The spa looks awesome and the gym is important to both of us. I have stayed at CBR but I know CSR has a few more amenities like the gym, etc. What would you have done? We are both mid-20s, going to celebrate both our birthdays that week. I just thought the resort, while big, looks relaxing! I was also afraid of total visual theme overload with LM - I love it but after 8 days I might go batty eyed!
:welcome: I think the theming of CSR may be more relaxing for you...plus an awesome pool with a slide (from what I've read). I think your trip sounds great!!!! Being CSR is more spread out may make it more "chill" as well!

I am officially a resort changer and I am still unsure. I started at BC, then RO discounts came out and I save $1000 and moved to a studio room at VWL.

I just want my family to have a great vacation... I would love your opinions.

We are currently booked to stay at VWL studio room and I was wondering if I would be better off at BWI. I am not too concerned with the size of the room. I know that BWI is slightly bigger. I think that transportation to the parks probably equals out with both resorts. The price difference is only about $300. BWI being more expensive.

My question is this... which resort has more to do for my kids after we leave the parks and on down days? I have 3 kids... DS 10, DS 8, DD 6. What do you think would be more enjoyable for them? We stayed at the Poly last time and loved it. We don't like to sit in the room. We want to be on the go and having fun!

We will be there from 12/5-12/10 and are from Michigan, so we will swim... well, the kids will. Also, we have stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge and was wondering if it is too similar to WL.

Thank you so much! :grouphug:
:welcome: I LOVE WL! I know they are refurbishing the pool area, so I am not sure if the main pool will be open. I do know they offer guests the option of FW and CR pools during the refurb. For Christmas decorations, WL has more than a slight edge on BWI. Activities as well I think for kids, WL also has the edge with FW being a walk or boat ride away. The VWL have much nicer décor than the new room décor at BWI. If you will be MK centered then go with VWL, but Epcot/DHS centered trips will have you wanting the BWI's location....I didn't help at all did I :rolleyes1

How much disappointment do you think I'm setting myself up for if I'm booking a bb offer in mid October for a trip in late April? I'm looking to do either YC/BC CL, GF Sugarloaf CL, or Wilderness Lodge CL. Think I'll get any of my choices? Or will I be too late at that point being only just over 6 months in advance.

The bb offer thing has me constantly revising my list. Wondering if I will get one at all, will it be a free dining offer or room discount? I'm hoping for room discount but I am thinking its probably going to be free dining. Never done a bb offer before so I am totally unsure of the whole thing.

The Poly will tie for 3rd place only if the Lobby looks like it will be done by the time I'm booking.
Availability has been SO weird. But I always think there is hope...I will say when we did an early November trip one year the BB only went to the end of the year and not to the following year....You can change a BB resort once you get home, for example book a value just to take advantage of the deal....and when you get home you can change resorts every day (subject to availability) we booked a BB at Pop and ended up staying in a WL Honeymoon room with 35% off...the possibilities are endless :flower3:

I just posted my Yacht Club/Club Level review HERE.

I put a spoiler alert in the beginning:rolleyes1
 Thank you for the review!!! for our new resort changers.....Kook is also the Queen of Bay Lake and hostess of the BWI FAQ thread...and just plain AWESOME :thumbsup2

Good Morning/Afternoon! Happy Wednesday! :wave2:

Since Disney has released the 2015 packages, I've been pricing out trips, out the wa-zoo! I really really want to get in one more trip before DD turns 3 and we have baby #2. Ideally, I'd like for #2 to arrive in the spring of 2016 so he/she would potentially be 5-7 months at the time of travel.;)

I am anxious to see how Pop Century is, because I'd like to go for a bit longer and we'd feel more comfortable doing that staying in a value resort (with maybe a few Universal days? :confused3)

I'm definitely going to wait until we get there to see if there are any bounce back deals before booking. It's hard not to do it now, though!

Haha, now I know what'll keep me occupied before we go! :crazy2::rotfl:
:rotfl2: Sounds like a GREAT way to keep occupied! pixiedust:

Thanks...as of right now, I'm going to stay put, unless of course something else opens up under the A/P discount that should be coming out soon :-). Plus I really didn't want to leave the Epcot area bc of F&W. I figure it this way, we've always enjoyed our BC CL stays so I'm sure I'll survive..lol

:thumbsup2 Sounds like a plan!

Just to make sure I have this right . . .
So, if I go ahead and make a deposit for room only for next April and come October I get a bounceback offer of room discount I can have it applied to the reservation I already have. I can also change it to Poly Club level from Wilderness Lodge (paying the difference of course)

However, if it's a free dining offer that's different though right?

I'm also assuming that it isn`t really a problem if I have to cancel the original room and book another room if it came to that. And I'm assuming that the CM on the phone at the time can do both the bb and the cancelling of the other?

Sorry bout all the questions but you're dealing with someone who can't make up their mind, is excited about going to Disney and who hasn't done an offer before lol.
I do really appreciate all the advice and help though.

Good question! I was thinking the same. A part of me wants to bite the bullet NOW -- but we'll also be there in a month or so. I'm hoping we can wait... :hourglass

IF they have a good deal on a deluxe, we might do it! I'd love to stay at WL.

Oh decisions, decisions! I'm so glad I have you all so I can think out loud about this stuff. :p

No worries, no apologies necessary. It's why we are here. Yes, you can apply a room only BB to an existing room only reservation. And the CM can absolutely handle a new booking and a cancellation. And also know that Disney is pretty versed in dealing with resort changers...so it's all good. I'm excited to see where you get to book!!!

So happy for you! We enjoyed CR and it sounds great for your trip. Also love the name Mason. So exciting!!!!

No changes here, at least not for our ASMu arrival in 10 days! I have my $67/night ASMu reservation and I'm keeping it! Our youngest is super excited about ASMu now, and even our oldest (almost 15, never stayed value, loves deluxe CL) is all about a value trip. I asked if he still wants to just wing it with CS (very unusual for us - we usually have two TS per day.) And he said absolutely - this is that kind of trip! I think they are more up for the adventure than I am. :)

Meanwhile, thinking about our AKL CL/GF CL/BWI CL split for January. If we have a great time at ASMu, do we need CL? (We do for that last part at BWI when my husband joins us and I'm running the marathon - not sure about the rest!)

PAS 130: You did help... you confirmed what I've been thinking. VWL has the edge. LOL! Maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see... LOL:scratchin

Wookie-I love the t-shirts. Great idea! :cool1:

Thank you. I have idea for a like three other t-shirts, but I'm too tired to post the pics tonight.

Mason is such a cute name!!

Since we have to go to the lawyers tomorrow, I'm going to put the laptop up and attempt to be asleep by midnight (which is super early for me). Hopefully, tomorrow is a better day. My bil, poor guy, his wife filed divorce papers today. Then today, the dad of one of my closest childhood friends (who actually dated my hubby for a few weeks before I did), was diagnosed with liver and lung cancer.

TGIF! :flower3:

Wookie, late on commenting but wanted to say that's a wonderful and thoughtful idea on the T-shirt for the girl fighting leukemia. Fantastic news that she is already in remission. :) .... and hoping you are feeling (and sleeping) better.

Sue, I'm still here, just been crazy busy.. :) Sorry about the car woes and the trip bust . :( luckily you have Disney on the horizon! :sail: Sam is excited however she has so much going on, its kind of on the back burner. SHe's looking forward to the trip though ... and RnR! (and I totally get you on the overpacking thing... I'm there for less than half the time you will be and it might be close who packs the most! LOL Shall we compare? :teeth:

Heather, As always, I love your pix!

Magic it's almost Disney time! Yay! Thinking of ways to convince DH to go on EE with us. :)

dimndgal1, It would be great to meet up at KOP... Shopping and a DISmeet... and I would love a chance to meet your princesses. princess:
Now it would be perfect if Disney was still in that mall. BUT, the Phila Premium outlets are not that far away.. :)

Pixarmom! Hi! Nice to "see" you! And Congrats on snagging a great All Stars room rate. :goodvibes And lanyards are still useful for us pin traders! :)

pigletgirl late on commenting on the serious accident involving your friends. Thankful that medically they are improving. How very sad for the loss of the other family, but how thoughtful and caring of the family to donate the organs. My friend benefited from a kidney transplant 5 years ago, and she is forever grateful to the donor's family. And egarding Pop Century, its really a fun resort! Hoping you will like your stay. And yes to adding Universal days. For us, its Potter in 2015!

Just wondering how many people do the same thing I end up doing. My wife isn't big on disney (oh the horror of it) so I get to do all of the planning. Free dining came out so I convinced her to stay at WL (her and my son like WL). It was only 3500, not too bad for oct 26 - nov 1. Issue is all that was avail was bunkbed room and my son hates the bunkbeds

So after looking everyday, a normal 2 queen bed room opens up and I switch to that and save around 200 as well

All is well. Then the main pool is to be closed during our trip. For me not a deal breaker, for the wife and kid it is. So we switch to AKL for about 4-5 hundred more. Again though only thing avail is a bunkbed room

We are now in aruba and staying in a one bedroom villa for the for time in our lives. It is so much better to have a kitchen and separate bedrooms. Of course now I had to change again our disney vacation. Now we are doing a one bedroom villa in kidani village. No free dining was available so I switched to the fall discount offer and also added a day so that we leave on sat the 25th instead of Sunday. If not tied to free dining doesn't make sense to me to wait until Sunday to leave. We are now up to 5000 for the vacation and that doesn't include any food! That also doesn't include my wife booking mnsshp for the 28th without realizing I already booked it for the 26 and 31st. Yikes I think we are going to be double the 3500 original cost.

Also it is sooo strange being in aruba with no adr's or fastpass+ to get to. No rope drops. Just relaxing. All I can say is I can't wait for end of oct!!!!

:rotfl2: you are too funny!

I love Aruba but prefer the hectic ness of disney too!

If you have the villa you can make breakfast easy enough. We also bring home leftovers for snacks/ lunch the next day.
