As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

Oops I did it again. After booking one night in a Lion King Suite (2 nights in LM rooms - 1 night in LK suite - 3 nights at CBR)...

I realized that I could get 1 night pool view room at AKL - 100$ cheaper than the LK Suite. I'm crazy about AKL, DH loves it too...

So we'll move more. LOL

We loved the AKL!! We stayed there on our last trip. I could just spend a week at that resort.

I ordered the t-shirts my friend and I will wear for MVMCP today. I didn't go with the original one I wanted to order. I got tired of waiting to get a price from the original person. I would wait for an answer, message her, she would promise to get back to me soon, and then wouldn't. Although, it's funny, she finally got back to me with a price after I contacted another person and worked a price out with person #2. This is what we're getting...

The lights will look like this though, instead of the ones on the applique above...

Then I'm going to buy glow in the dark paint in the colors of the lights.

Cute shirts, wookie!

Nothing left for us except for getting our magic bands, packet info and packing suitcases!

The kiddos are leaving tonight. Their grandmother is coming after dinner and we've just had the best time. They are obviously too young to truly understand the significant injuries their parents have, but their grandparents will take care of that portion. Their mom came off the ventilator this morning and is doing well, lots of pain though. DD is going to be confused when the house is quiet again,

So, good news all around! :)

Hope everyone is ok!

MommyRosa - what about BWI?

Koh, this is exactly what I was going to post. Wookie - adorable shirts, and MommyRosa, I'd definitely consider BWI. So ditto!

Hello all!
It's been super busy - running to doctors appts, trying to get everything squared away before school starts, and a round of colds after getting back from the west.

Still unsettled about Sept trip... not sure why. I'm hoping WL still has its magic even with the construction but DH and I also agree that if it's an issue, we'll see if we can work anything out when we get there... maybe try to split the second half. I've really been debating a CR TPV but can't justify the additional cost -- too many upcoming expenses with the Dec trip and moving. BLAH!

Hope all is well! *HUGS*

P.S. Wookie - love the shirts! Might I ask for the seller's info? Would love to get something like that for my crew for our Christmas trip!

Sure, I'll PM you the info. She has been really great about getting back to me quickly.

Aka attempting to cha-cha change:rolleyes:
:rotfl2: There's always a chance!! I got RPC King room the day before our trip! They overbooked but we got a YC suite...

AKL is my favorite resort for "resort time" it's like being far far away :goodvibes

Hello :wave2:

It's been a while since I've posted on this very helpful thread but since I find I'm starting to "spin" out of control, I believe now's the time because I need some help :upsidedow.

Instead of concentrating on my August trip (which, for the record, I'd just like to state that I've never once contemplated a change from the moment I booked it:)), I'm obsessing over our October stay instead :sad2:.

This October, it will only be myself and DH. It's our 2nd solo trip without the girls and we will be celebrating our 29th :scared1: wedding anniversary with a little F&W. Now, when I first booked, I started with a garden view room at the BC, that turned into a standard vw, YC CL room which then became a garden view, YC CL (this is where we currently are for 5 days).

Months after we booked, DH decided we needed to add one extra night at the beginning of our trip. Great I thought, until I found out that I couldn't get anything at the BC or YC with our existing BB offer. So, I booked us another R/O for the first night at CSR, Business Class. Figured, eh, it's only one night, we'll be just fine, no sense of spending any extra $$. Um, yeah, ok, that lasted for about 2 whole weeks. Then I started feeling antsy, so I called back and switched us to the AKL for the first night, it wasn't much more so I figured why not? Well, about a week later, I just wasn't feeling it, so I made another call and switched us again, this time to the CR, Std vw/King, CL (because that wasn't much more $$ :sad2:).

One would think I'd be happy, right? I mean the entire trip is paid off, I'm trying two new resorts (which BTW, DH still thinks we are staying the first night at CSR - ummm, SURPRISE?! :rolleyes1). Earlier today, I decided to scan the boards & came across some not so great reviews of the YC CL and now I'm 2nd guessing myself...ugh!!! Help, please!
I liked YC...the CL CMs were really nice. The lounge meh..not so much. My picky DH preferred GF and WL CL. The lounge is small, but for F&W the location of YC is perfect. BWI CL gets much better reviews, but not unlike GF the refurbished rooms are horrid IMO. Try to hold strong....YC CL will be great for you and your DH's trip!!!! CR/YC split is wonderful..and :welcome: back

Me too!!! And I love the shirts!!!!:thumbsup2

Sorry for the post-trip germies  You get CR pool which is awesome..and the construction is only the pool right???

How much disappointment do you think I'm setting myself up for if I'm booking a bb offer in mid October for a trip in late April? I'm looking to do either YC/BC CL, GF Sugarloaf CL, or Wilderness Lodge CL. Think I'll get any of my choices? Or will I be too late at that point being only just over 6 months in advance.

The bb offer thing has me constantly revising my list. Wondering if I will get one at all, will it be a free dining offer or room discount? I'm hoping for room discount but I am thinking its probably going to be free dining. Never done a bb offer before so I am totally unsure of the whole thing.

The Poly will tie for 3rd place only if the Lobby looks like it will be done by the time I'm booking.

I just posted my Yacht Club/Club Level review HERE.

I put a spoiler alert in the beginning:rolleyes1

Good Morning/Afternoon! Happy Wednesday! :wave2:

Since Disney has released the 2015 packages, I've been pricing out trips, out the wa-zoo! I really really want to get in one more trip before DD turns 3 and we have baby #2. Ideally, I'd like for #2 to arrive in the spring of 2016 so he/she would potentially be 5-7 months at the time of travel.;)

I am anxious to see how Pop Century is, because I'd like to go for a bit longer and we'd feel more comfortable doing that staying in a value resort (with maybe a few Universal days? :confused3)

I'm definitely going to wait until we get there to see if there are any bounce back deals before booking. It's hard not to do it now, though!

Haha, now I know what'll keep me occupied before we go! :crazy2::rotfl:

Thanks...as of right now, I'm going to stay put, unless of course something else opens up under the A/P discount that should be coming out soon :-). Plus I really didn't want to leave the Epcot area bc of F&W. I figure it this way, we've always enjoyed our BC CL stays so I'm sure I'll survive..lol

I am officially a resort changer and I am still unsure. I started at BC, then RO discounts came out and I save $1000 and moved to a studio room at VWL.

I just want my family to have a great vacation... I would love your opinions.

We are currently booked to stay at VWL studio room and I was wondering if I would be better off at BWI. I am not too concerned with the size of the room. I know that BWI is slightly bigger. I think that transportation to the parks probably equals out with both resorts. The price difference is only about $300. BWI being more expensive.

My question is this... which resort has more to do for my kids after we leave the parks and on down days? I have 3 kids... DS 10, DS 8, DD 6. What do you think would be more enjoyable for them? We stayed at the Poly last time and loved it. We don't like to sit in the room. We want to be on the go and having fun!

We will be there from 12/5-12/10 and are from Michigan, so we will swim... well, the kids will. Also, we have stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge and was wondering if it is too similar to WL.

Thank you so much! :grouphug:

Ok, another question. If I was to put down a deposit on my trip next April now, when I get there in October, can I still ask for a bounceback offer, and if I get a good offer can I change what I've booked and apply the deposit to the new offer? (hope that made sense) or will they tell me I'm not eligible cause I've already put a deposit down on a trip?
Or should I maybe relax and wait till October and see what happens lol. I just don't want to set myself up for a disappointment by waiting.

I have never stayed at VWL, but we stayed at the WL, which I absolutely love. Does the decor of one resort appeal to your kids over the other one?

I would assume a bounce back would be like any other discount that could be applied to a current reservation if it meets the requirements of the offer. Then again, I have never used a bounce back, so I don't know for sure.

Happy Thursday Everybody!
We've dropped to page 2, can't let that happen. :rotfl:

MM-Congrats on your Contemporary booking! :dance3:

Wookie-I love the t-shirts. Great idea! :cool1:

Pas-Your trip is right around the corner. :yay:

Today is the first day of GP Food and Wine booking. It was crazy as usual. Disney and it's IT. :headache: I pretty much got what we wanted, so that's good. Nice folks were posting as they found things open/sold out on the restaurant board. It certainly helped to share information. :thumbsup2
Hope everyone has a great day. :flower3:

My trip, which I postponed from this year to next June, was originally booked for AoA in the Little Mermaid section. When I saw the new prices, I just couldn't bring myself to pay so much for a value when I could easily stay at a mod for that price! I switched us over to Coronado Springs where I've always wanted to stay, and am pretty excited!

We are going for 8 days, which is the second-longest I've ever gone for (I went for 3 weeks as a kid!). My boyfriend always laughs that I rush us around - and I really don't, I just plan what parks/what day and a few ADRs! - so this trip I want to make nice and relaxing.

Did I make a good choice switching us over? The spa looks awesome and the gym is important to both of us. I have stayed at CBR but I know CSR has a few more amenities like the gym, etc. What would you have done? We are both mid-20s, going to celebrate both our birthdays that week. I just thought the resort, while big, looks relaxing! I was also afraid of total visual theme overload with LM - I love it but after 8 days I might go batty eyed!

I have never stayed that long, jealous!

CSR is awesome. So pretty at night. I love the outdoor bar by the lake at night especially. They don't have that anywhere else.:goodvibes
