As the Ticker Turns...the neverending saga of the Resort Changers

:cool1:

We're hoping to book a bounce back offer if it's decent while we're down there!

To tell you how clueless I am sometimes, I searched high and low for a BB. They use to be sitting right out in front of your face. I finally found it...in one of the brochure books that they leave in the room :upsidedow Of course I didn't book one...not really sure why I was searching so feverishly to find it

Duplicate thanks to posting from the phone lol

:rotfl:

Lurking from the ambulance again, are we?? popcorn::;)

So I just booked 2 nights at POP !! I thought I had outgrown values but that dd wants a trip down memory lane.:flower3:

However I need to see the refurb at gf and scored a passholder rate for deluxe king RPC for the last night :goodvibes

Can't wait to see the new rooms!

:thumbsup2 Score 2 for you!!! Nice deal!!!

Hot off the presses!!!! We are having a baby BOY!!!!!!!

Can't even believe it!!! And also great news that the genetic testing came back perfect! :thumbsup2

:goodvibes very good news for your family! What a blessing! Now get to shoppin'!!!;)

:wave2: to all the RCers!

:cool1:

Fingers crossed that you get one.

I went to work with the DH today. It's been raining since yesterday about this time, and will hopefully continue to rain through tomorrow. We need rain in the worst way. The lake near where I grew up, last time I checked, was about 22 feet low.

Well, I don't feel like eating, so I'm off to watch Mad Men (the friend I'm going to WDW in December with suggest I watch it) and knitting. Right now the scarf I am working on is long enough to go around my neck.

For fun who is in on a little bet?

Who thinks

A) I will stay with POP for the 2 nights.

B) I will stay elsewhere.

Bonus: if I change, where to?????:scratchin

Ps, clues may be found in my signature;)

Happy Friday!!!!

A pic from the beautiful WL :goodvibes

wookie...how's that scarf coming along???

trish .... I'm clueless! :upsidedow Don't really think you'll stay at Pop, but not sure where you may end up. :scratchin

amanda...:cheer2: for the new dates being released! Thanks for the info!

Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!!:wave2:

I'm booked for Beach Club in December (Pop Warner week). Now I'm thinking of changing to Art of Animation Nemo Suite. Beach Club is more my style and I like the idea of walking to Epcot and boating to DHS. But, I think my kids will like AoA better. Disney is for the kids, right????? Last time we went we stayed at Polynesian. I also thought of booking 2 rooms at Pop, but I think AoA is something my kids will dig now (in a few years probably not so much). This may also be our last Disney trip. If I change resorts (I'm booked through Disney), will I lose all of my dining/ Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique/ Pirate League reservations? Thank you for all of your help, info, and suggestions. :confused3
I'd keep BC, it's a great place for kids! And much more enjoyable IMO.

ok, so I need some advice on how to do something. I have a Disney friend that has a close young relative, that was diagnosed with Leukemia this Summer. They started selling t-shirts to help with expenses and I got the idea to get one, in the girl's size, take it to WDW in December, have characters sign it, and then turn it into a pillow for her. Should I just have the characters use a Sharpee? If not, what do y'all think I should get them to sign with? Then, should I put a piece of cardboard between the two layers of the t-shirt, so if they are signing on the front it won't bleed through to the back? I plan on taking pictures with the characters and the t-shirt to print out for her.
You always have such creative ideas!! They do have laundry markers. I'd just be sure whether permanent or laundry it's a fat marker. Characters in suits like goofy, etc can't manage writing with skinny pens. I think that's why they sell those large barrel pens at wdw, so the characters can write with them.

Happy Wednesday everybody!
I am hopelessly behind, but enjoyed reading all the latest RC news the last couple of days.

We are back from our trip out west. It's always an adventure, and throwing in a missed connection due to maintenance issues added to the fun. Ha! I have to say United took very good care of us. Hotel, meal vouchers, and they got us on the first flight the next day. :thumbsup2
DH did pretty well on the trip, but it was tiring for him. I adjusted some of our fall plans to hopefully make them a bit easier. Short park trips combined with rests should help. He is very much looking forward to Food and Wine, and that's good. :goodvibes

I was finally able to use our bounceback. I've been calling pretty regularly to finally get one day at a time added to the YC portion of our split. CRO made me work for it. I didn't mind, Stormalong Bay is my happy place.
We are at BWI/CL 10/24-10/31, then YC/CL 10/31-11/3
Janet, I'm pretty sure this is the last change. Or at least as final as an RCer can be. :rotfl2:

I have been fairly surprised at the lack of availability at the Epcot resorts the end of Oct. It's a little early for so much to appear sold out, at least from our experience. I guess the word is getting around that it's a great time to go. :dance3:

That's all that's new here. I'll zip over and get a ticker or two, and then we'll be on the countdown. :cool1:
Hugs to all the RC friends, both old and new. :wave2: ::grouphug: :flower3:
Welcome home!

I'm starting to think about where I'd like to stay in 2017 for my 40th birthday. :-) Are they refurbishing BCV anytime soon? Thinking BWV or BCV may be the way to go for F&W. :-)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
I know BC/YC are getting refurbs, but DVC don't get them as often. And BCV is in need!! The rooms are getting dated and worn, my friend had a studio a few yrs ago, when we stayed at BC. I looked at her room. Unless they were already done since and I haven't heard?

Hot off the presses!!!! We are having a baby BOY!!!!!!!

Can't even believe it!!! And also great news that the genetic testing came back perfect! :thumbsup2
:yay: congrats!!

My morning multi quote went poof, grrrr. Popping in to say hello. Happy to see Kook Ginny and Magic hop in!!! :grouphug: I'll be baaaccck when I get a little downtime at work.

:wave2:

Heather :worship: more great pics!! Looking forward to the TR!

my week just getting caught up or trying! We were supposed to have a get a way on Vancouver Island west coast (Tofino area) this week and join friends at their cabin. So..... We set off, have a 1 sailing wait for the ferry. Newhouse knew tues afternoon would be busy? Already a late start.

Get off ferry and onto highway, about 30 min on and we get a flat, ugh. Call BCAA (our AAA) and they TIW us to nearest town. By now it's 6pm of course and so have to book hotel and wait till morning for tire shop to open.

They can't fix tire, big cylinder rod got in tire. My husbands SUV doesn't have standard tires. Have to be special ordered, so they put spare on, and we get ferry home :-( sheech. :sad2:

Such a beautiful picture!! I would love to be there today.

wookie...how's that scarf coming along???

Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!!:wave2:
Heather

It's coming along. It going all around my neck and just a little more. I didn't get much done on it last night because I was super sleepy and didn't want to risk messing it up.

You always have such creative ideas!! They do have laundry markers. I'd just be sure whether permanent or laundry it's a fat marker. Characters in suits like goofy, etc can't manage writing with skinny pens. I think that's why they sell those large barrel pens at wdw, so the characters can write with them.

Thanks, I get my craftiness from my mom. Maybe I'll get two pens. One chunkier one and a thinner one. I'll have all the suit characters use the chunkier one and the non-suit ones use the thinner one. I wish now I had gotten an adult size, instead of a child size t-shirt. That way the characters have more room to sign.

I'm so sorry.

TIW???? All I can think of is Tables in Wonderland .... too much Disney??? :confused3 No! Never!! :rotfl2:

It's funny how our brain always goes to Disney answers for all.

Well it's only 70 F right now. Monday it was 103 F, so this is a nice break from the heat. I forgot to set an alarm, so I didn't wake up until after noon. I'm going to eat a quick lunch (grilled fajita chicken over a Spring mix salad with baby spinach and Italian dressing) and then get to knitting while I wait for laundry to be done, so I can start another load.

Ok, my guess is you scrap Pop, and go with GF for all days :thumbsup2

TIW???? All I can think of is Tables in Wonderland .... too much Disney??? :confused3 No! Never!! :rotfl2:

Ugh, auto correct is getting the best of me, lol!! Towed us :rotfl: also re reading I meant to say who knew Tues ....... But came out as something totally different!

Sue is close....

Dd had a request earlier this year that was "obliterated" by her dad and bro crashing the party.

Remember now???

Dd has only one possible upgrade I have 2.

Who the heck goes from POP to RPC???

Dh says that I need to keep checking. However POP with dd will be fun indeed. She wants 80's with PacMan and lake view.

I surely can't compete with you all with "resort changing" but split stays... I am the queen:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Pop looks fun to us. We're staying there 1 night before our package begins. If we hate it, we don't have to stay more than 1 night!

That sounds like a fun trip, Trish!

My kids always say POP is their fav!!! The theming is so fun!

Of course I am :goodvibes

Ginny Did I thank you already for helping everyone out???

:welcome: I know I am way late to answer...however...Pop Warner week, I would do deluxe! I know they don't stay at AoA, but I would avoid the values. You shouldn't lose your reservations if you book through Disney, but there have been a lot of glitches on the FP ends IMO  Last WDW trip, do it up in style, plus early December 2013 it was warm enough to enjoy the pool...:goodvibes

A pic from the beautiful WL :goodvibes

Thank you Heather!:lovestruc

Agreed! And sorry for the tire :(

Pop is awesome!

You have awesome splits...BUT the Queen...it's GrumpyGrandma followed by Princess iheartthemouse...you are most definitely in the Royal Court though :rotfl:

My DH and kids liked Pop better than GF :confused3 Pop was really groovy, I only wish the beds were bigger :hippie:

Isn't planning half the fun anyway? LOL
:thumbsup2 Of course it is!!!

Thanks! I'm glad to find it! I seem to go through this every year. LOL.
And THIS is why I am glad you found us!!!:goodvibes

He is making the move permanent to FLA-LA LAND! :beach: Just getting his ducks in a row now. He popped in at WDW for the 4th Fireworks. Any old excuse works for him! ... Still at TI?
 AWESOME!!!!! I can't wait to make the move from NJ to FLA (20 years from now)

We are at TI 8/16-22:cloud9:

If I duplicated responses, I am totally sorry my friends, my short attention span makes it hard to catch up :grouphug:

I was so happy to see this as well! Although, we probably won't get to do any of the events since we'll have our 6 y/o DS with us. But, it's still fun to check them out. And I'm ready for them to release the full list of the booths and their offerings! YUM! :goodvibes

I also saw yesterday that on July 30th, the 2015 packages will be released for WDW & DLR! So ready to start pricing out and REALLY planning our trip out west next year! :cool1:

:thumbsup2 And with planning comes ch-ch-changing...I KNEW I'd miss someone :upsidedow

Thank you for this!! While I don't "require" the feel of the tropics, doing something as big as the Goofy Challenge for the first time, being at a place that feels like "home" will help considerably.

Just called and changed to CBR! :thumbsup2 AND it's a little (like $13, but hey...every little bit counts) cheaper too! :cool1:
Glad I could help. Use the $13 to get a dole whip. Heck, you'll run those calories right off! :joker:

:wave2: I hope all RCs, new and old, are making great changes!
Hi Kook. :wave2:

Hot off the presses!!!! We are having a baby BOY!!!!!!!
Such sweet news. Sending a happy (yet so very creepy) dance for you and your family. :dancer:

AoA all the way for the kiddies. There's plenty of time for BC stays as they grow and SAB is better as they age.

I'm off to watch Mad Men (the friend I'm going to WDW in December with suggest I watch it) and knitting. Right now the scarf I am working on is long enough to go around my neck.
A truly great show! :happytv: Love your scarf and your progress reports. :cutie:

Oh, such a sad tale. I'm sorry you missed your friends and your relaxation time. :worried:

In my continuing effort to make sure my list of choices is accurate, I thought I'd once again ask a little advice. If you were going to choose a club level room based on the lounge what would you choose?

My top 3 so far:
a-The Yacht Club (cause its close to Epcot and it would be late April and the F&G festival)

b-GF Sugarloaf (cause from what I understand it has afternoon tea, and champagne served at dinner (so I'm told)

c-The Polynesian (is number 3 only if the lobby and pool are likely to be open)
if not c would be The Boardwalk (club level, and for same reason as the Yacht Club)
After this I'm open to pretty much any cl except RPC (which will likely be out of my price range even with a discount LOL

All I have to do now is wait until October and hope I can get a bounceback offer to one of those. If not, I have a second list just in case. Hope you all don't mind me rambling on cause first of all I have fun planning my trip to Disney, and second, it takes time to make up my mind about where I'm going to stay lol.

Hello all from the Rocky Mtn region! Been scooting around the mountains and reception is hit-or-miss. So far behind but wanted to send a blue YAY to MM!

Hoping to catch up tonight when I can finally sit and chill! *hugs to all*

Thanks. I'm having trouble getting the lady to get me a quote on the t-shirts. I had trouble with her the last time she made me something. Last time, I waited 2 months before getting a response from her before messaging her again. It's been maybe a month this time, I sent her a message, and she said she would get back to me this weekend. If I don't hear from her by Tuesday, I'll find someone else to make them.

I wish I could help, but I have never stayed CL. Personally, I would stay at the YC. You're close to Epcot, for F&G, and you can enjoy SAB.

 Hello!! I hope you get a chance to stop in my favorite spot, Estes Park, CO.

Well, I'm back to the playing SW:tOR with the hubby. Gotta keep the man happy since he's paying for my girls only trip.
