We will be staying at the AS Music from April 13 to April 18th. We have 2 rooms (guaranteed connecting rooms because of the kids and their ages). We also paid the extra $10 dollars to get a preferred room. I have not read a whole lot about the AS resorts (especially the Music) except that they tend to be loud.

I would love to hear from anyone about where we should request a room. I am especially interested in thought on what floor to request.

We were considering requesting a room facing the pool because of our kids. It seemed like this would be the best but now I am concerned about what I am reading about the noise.

I would also like to hear any comments about the Music resort in general - buses, room conditions, whatever! We are so excited but I am concerned about the resort a bit. It was what we could afford and this will be our first time staying on site so we are debating every decision we make. Any information would be appreciated!

Counting down our days!

Having stayed at alot of the deluxes including the GF and all the moderates. I really enjoyed my stay at the All Star Music. I was in the Rock Inn section which I found quiet. The prefered rooms are in Calypso. I don't know if they are in Jass. I asked for a top floor so I didn't have anyone over me. You may wish to be on ground level for ease of access to the pool. I like having a view of the main areas with the icons. The back sections of the motel are quieter and often have nice views of pine trees but are less themed. I would choose the Music resort again even though movies is newer.

My daughter and I stayed at ASMusic in October. We had a great time and did not feel it was too loud at all. We were there over Columbus day weekend, and never had trouble getting a beach chair by the pool whenever we wanted one. We were in the Jazz building, and it was very quiet. If you are in the Calypso buildings, you may want to request one of the side wings that do not face the pool if you are concerned about the noise. The food court was clean and roomy. We never had a long wait there, although one night at about 8:30 it was very busy. Still, all lanes were open and we did not have a long wait in line, although it was a little hectic, especially in front of the drink station. I have to say I enjoyed this resort more than Port Orleans Riverside. Both the food court and bus service were better, and the pool was not as crowded. I did miss the slide and the hot tub, though!!! I agree that a second floor room will probably be quieter, if you don't mind the extra walking and stairs. Hope you hve a great time!

We just stayed there 2/13-2/20 and my cousins will be at Music about the same days as you. Their daughter is part of a dance team though, so beware, there might be many 10 year old girls running around. We had a preferred room too (Calypso section only) and were initially in room 660. This is the best location I've ever had at an All Star Resort. It faced the pool, was on the top floor of building 10, on the side closest to the main building/food court etc. So rather than going to the main entrance of building 10, would could use the stairs right outside the food court door and we were in our room! However, this room had just been painted and therefore smelled and we found old clothing and feminine hygeine products in the drawers so we asked to be moved. They gave us a room in building 1, I think it was 1645. This faced the back parking lot and ASSports. So we asked if they had another pool view, which at the time they did not but they said to try back the next day. So we did and they said they had room 660, which we obviously didn't want to go back to, but the CM was otherwise unhelpful and unwilling to look for another room. But we came back to nap around 3pm and checked again and they had a pool view room in the same building so we moved again. This one was 1655 and was the last room in building 1, right next to Jazz Inn. It was a great room though, despite being the last one in the building. Since it was the last and was a corner, we only had neighbors on one side and behind us, rather than being surrounded. This cut down on the noise from loud neighbors. We also never had any noise from the pool. The first floor may have been a bit more noisy, but we didn't hear a sound from the pool on the 3rd floor. If pool view is more important, which it was for us, then state that on your request, but if convenience is, then ask to be in the closest room to the main building since ours had a great view, but was almost as far as walking to Jazz.

Music is my favorite of the three All Stars. I like Jazz because it is right in the middle of both pools, close enough to the front of the resort and not prefered, and there is a cute little courtyard with a fountain we walked through every night.

Don't worry about the All Stars. The busses are great. Also in four stays I have never had a problem with noise.

we stayed in a ground floor room in the 2nd broadway bldg. the piano pool is smaller than the main pool and much, much quieter. we found it more relaxing in the "back" and our 2 small children did as well. its a bit of a hike to the front of the resort but we never found it to be a problem. the front does tend to be very noisy with alot of action... it was nice to just cruise on by it all and unwind after a long day in the parks!!! i hope this helps!
