When I sort out the dates for the Disneyland return… it might end up being a hotel that’s walkable, OCTA, and as a last resort an Uber…

I think getting the closer, walkable hotels is going to get harder and more expensive.

Did anyone not believe that Disney would maintain the parking lot shuttle?

That's an interesting question. On the one hand, having poor transportation options from competing hotels could help Disney. But since many visitors can't afford the Disney hotels, is there a chance that enough people could avoid further-flung hotels to affect Disneyland attendance?? I don't know.

I used to stay at Motel 6 and use ART. Over the last few years I switched to Harbour Boulevard motels. If those Harbour Boulevard motels go out of my budget and there are no public transport options like ART, then yes for me as an international visitor I would stop going to Disneyland.

Disney doesn’t have enough capacity at their hotels or parking to accommodate everyone who visits. While I understand it isn’t their responsibility necessarily to provide transportation to the parks from area hotels, it is in their best interest to do something. What that something is, I don’t know.

Right, any boost to their own hotels will only accommodate a small percentage of potential Disneyland visitors.

While I understand it isn’t their responsibility necessarily to provide transportation to the parks from area hotels, it is in their best interest to do something. What that something is, I don’t know.

I suspect, too, that it's in Disney's best interest, although as I said, it's hard as an outsider to know how much the decreased accessibility of more distant hotels would actually affect them.

I know from these boards that some people use the Toy Story shuttles even if they don't park in that lot, so at least users of the hotels near there should be okay. As you say, we'll just have to wait and see whether Disney works out an option for users of other hotels.
