Arriving early, before DH - what would you do?

Hi! My DH and I are staying at Polynesian concierge level for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary at the end of this month. We've never stayed concierge level at Disney before and we're really looking forward to it.

I'll be arriving in Orlando around 11am. My DH needs to take a later flight due to work commitments so he'll be meeting me at the Polynesion at around 9PM.

What would you do with your time if you were arriving earlier than your DH/DW? I won't be going into the parks until the following day - don't want to use up a day w/out DH. I've thought about getting a pedicure at the GF Spa, or a late lunch/ early dinner reservation at the Contemporary, or GF. I'm also considering a character lunch/dinner. I'm not too interested in heading to Downtown Disney. Should I hang around the Polynesian and take advantage of being concierge level? Or should I venture further than the resort?

I'd love to hear what others would do - I'm stuck on thinking the same old thing and would appreciate other ideas.

I'm not quite sure the Resort board is the right place for this post, but I couldn't figure out where else to put it.

Thanks!

I would head over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and take the culinary tour - it is usually at 3:45 or 4:00 depending on the day of the week and it's a lot of fun. You'll get to sample yummy things from Jiko and Boma. Then you can tour the hotel and see the animals.

You could take a monorail tour too, just for fun!

Maybe have afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian???

I would absolutely take advantage of the concierge lounge while you're there!

Every trip my husband/boys go golfing and i head for the spa for a massage, relaxing time in the steamroom, sauna & hot tub. The spa at SSR is fantastic

So what would I do? Off the plane at 11am, arrive at the Poly by 12noon, check in, then head for the SSR Spa where I would enjoy the hottub and steamroom, an orange, maybe a little herbal team and then a very relaxing swedish massage.

Then back to the poly pool with a good book, glass or two of wine and some people watching.

Most likely would take advantage of concierge appertizers and leave all those romantic expensive dinners for when hubby arrives

It would be a very relaxing day thats all about me and what i never have time to do --- nothing

Thanks for all the great suggestions! Now all I have to do is figure out how to fit them ALL into one afternoon. ;)

Thanks so much!

I would order some room service, lay by the pool, maybe get some spa treatments at the GF and then just sit on the water at the polynesiand and take it all in!!

maybe i would even just take the monorail to each monorail hotel and go hotel hopping to see what they have to offer.

relax and enjoy!!!

Why not add another day to your pass and go into the MK? It should be no more than $10 to add a day to the passes that come with your room.
