Every year we go to 1900 PF on arrival night for dinner. We love the Tremaines and it gives us something Disney to do since we don't go to a park on arrival day. This year, I'm debating. While we have done EVERY single character dining many times, we have done VERY few non-character dinings. I was wondering, I'd like to try Raglan Rd, Sanaa and O'hana. Given the option, would you stick with your tradition and go to 1900PF or try one of the other 3?? And, if you would try one of the other 3...which one?? Thanks!

Like you we never go to the park on arrival day. We tend to explore the resort area and relax by the pool. I love Sanaa and Boma. If I was looking for something more Disney I would think O'hana since it is so close to MK and you can get a view of the castle. I don't think you can go wrong with any of your options.

We're the opposite! We go to a park the afternoon we arrive. We just can't wait! Usually it's Epcot to walk around the World Showcase, then we do counter service wherever we feel like.
We don't usually plan much, and stay for only maybe 3 or 4 hours at most - but we do go to a park!

I would vote Sanaa or Raglan Road! We used to like 'Ohana, but are staying away after our most recent experience. Truly we love AKL, all the restaurants there, and the relaxed atmosphere. Have a great time!

We go an even different route - always DD/Disney Springs for arrival night dinner. This year it's Portobello. We've done Raglan and Bongos in past, both of which were great.

'Ohana is fun and it might be a nice first night experience if you time it before Wishes and head out to the Poly beach afterwards to catch the show; however, the food at Sanaa is great. And if you get an ADR at the start of dinner service, not only will you see the animals on the savanna, but you'll see the little drum show they do to open the restaurant.

Such a hard decision!!! Maybe I will put it to a family vote, because I'm not sure I can decide. I love 1900PF (not necessarily the food....), but it would be cool to see the animals on the savanna and the pics of the food at Saana look amazing and I've heard so many awesome things about O'Hana....

We normally do Ohana or something in Disney springs. This year we are changing it up with HDR.

The answer really depends on the type of experience you want. If you want an amazing relaxing experience with amazing food, I would say got to Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge. If you haven't been to Wilderness Lodge before, its just worth going there. But the food is out of this world.

If you have children and would like something a little more up beat than I would say go to O'hana. The polynesian village is also fun, but you will have better food at Artist Point, even though O'hana has good food, its not out of this world. Also Artist Point has better wine options, if you are into that.

OP - we don't do a park on our arrival day either. We take the day to decompress from the "real world" - just relax at the resort and then have a nice early dinner. For the last few years we've eaten at California Grill for our first dinner. It's located at the top of the Contemporary so you get a wonderful view of Disney property. You can go out on the observation decks too which is super cool. It's fun to know our trip is just starting as we stand there looking at all the places we'll be enjoying that week!

Oh, and the food is really good too!

We also do Disney Springs for arrival night as we don't do a park either.
We always stay at CBR but this year staying at GF for honeymoon & doing 1900 Park Fare for the first time on arrival night!
We love Ohana, we do that almost every trip. The dessert.. Oh boy is it delish :)

We usually do go to Disney Springs prior to going to 1900PF. And Raglan Rd is at DS, so that is definitely an option. I've never eaten anywhere in the Animal Kingdom area, so that does sound appealing. My ADR window opens on 3/7, so I'll have to decide soon :D

Can you tell me more about the bread service? I'm still new at this!

Sanaa does a great bread service where they give you three large pieces of flat bread with different flavors (plain, garlic, and i can't remember the third), and then 9 dipping sauces. You rip the bread, add the sauces (which range from mild flavor to super spicey) and have fun mixing and matching as you much away. The plate is almost as big as your table so with 3-4 people it's a great appetizer. With two people it's an entre! :)

Sanaa is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge hotel (kidani) - so you also benefit from the ambiance of the beautiful animals in the savannah view. Giraffes just randomly walk around outside.

YUM! That sounds delicious. We have an ADR at Boma as I heard it was fantastic but now I want this too. I think I'm hungry ;)
