I have all my ADRs already, I now realize that on arrival night we have not planned anything, so now I am thinking of which meal we can book that night.

Here are the options:

1) Whispering Canyon at WL and then just walk around and check out the hotel.
2) Boardwalk and dinner at ESPN.
3) Downtown Disney to get into the Disney Spirit and then dinner....Where??
4) California Grill

What do you think???

Well we always go to Chef Mickey's @ the Contemporary and then the arcade. That gets us in the mood and gets the very annoying..."Can we go in the arcade" taken care of early :lmao:

By your suggestions, I think I would go to DTD and depending on your party, either Fulton's, Rainforest Cafe, Wolfgang Puck or, my favorite, Earl of Sandwich. EOS is not fancy but boy is it good!

i've done Chef Mickey's before and it was a great way to start off the trip. We then went up to CG to view the fireworks from the balconey. it was perfect. But CG doesn't allow that anymore.

Also have done CG the first night. It was fantastic, a great gourmet meal, some wine and an incredible view of the MK. We then stepped outside to watch WISHES. just time your ADR for wishes and it is great. Plus a quick ride on the monorail loop for a few drinks beforehand gets us in the mood for a great trip! :teeth:

Definetly go to California Grill and then walk out to the balcony and watch Wishes. That's what we are doing! Have fun! :cool1:

Are you staying at WL, Boardwalk or the CR? What time are you getting there?

WL - Dine at WCC, and stroll around the grounds...check out the geyser and view the electric water pageant!

BW - Dinner at ESPN and stroll around the boardwalk, check out the magicians, comics, jugglers, etc., then walk around the lake to BC and YC, take a boat one way (either over to Y&BC or from Y&BC back to BW) have dessert at Beaches & Cream!

DTD - stroll through the shops, have a pretzel and/or a drink, buy your postcards & stamps, have dinner at Fultons or Portobello's if you want table service, or Earl of Sandwich if you want Counter Service....make sure not to order dessert...save that for Ghirardelli's Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop!

CR - unwind and take a dip in the pool, then freshen up and go to CG for dinner and fireworks!

On my arrival day, I'm usually very tired, so I eat at my resort. I can't stand to travel to a restaurant when I'm tired and hungry.

I vote for the Boardwalk option ...

but I'd have dinner at Spoodles. .. then stop in the bakery for some snacks to take back to the room. :thumbsup2

We are going to Chef Mickey's. The kids have always wanted to go and we couldn't get an adr for last September:(

The night that we are planning to arrive is NOJ, so I am guessing no wishes and that rules out CG. My DW eliminated WL so, I two options left Boardwalk and DTD.

What would you do???

I like the Boardwalk option. You can always ride the boat around a bit in addition to the suggestions from others.
