Hello all,

I will be going down to WDW on Dec. 13 and I am planning on surprising my girlfriend and proposing in front of the castle. Now I have read that Disney at one time had an engagement package but they don't any longer. I was wondering if there were any suggestions for making this really special? Thank you for help

Hi! Disney does have an engagement package for Cinderella's Royal Table, in the castle. You can also arrange to have a Disney photographer be there when you get on one knee in front of the castle (well, in front of your girlfriend in front of the castle!)

Check out Mousesavers' page on romantic proposal ideas - it may have more info for you:

My boyfriend proposed to me outside the castle on Dec 15th last year - good choice on the month and venue!

He bought a pair of bride wedding ears (the white ones with the veil and sequins) without me knowing - I thought he'd bought a t-shirt - and waited till the Xmas show had finished at midnight (we were at Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party), and then got down on one knee and got the wedding ears out, and asked me to marry him.

It was a really lovely moment - midnight, near Xmas, on one knee outside the castle and the ears made me laugh out loud. :rotfl:

He didn't give me a ring then becuase he knew I wanted to choose my own, and the ears were the substitute. He then went and immediately found a Disney photographer and got her to take our picture, which is just gorgeous with all the Xmas lights.

It may not sound very fancy, but it was really lovely and got me to say yes! :cheer2:

Good luck with your proposal!

That is so adorable! I love it!

My DF proposed to me at Cinderella's Royal Table. It was amazing. We got a table right in front of the windows. Just before dessert came out they brought out the ring inside of a glass slipper that was engraved. They had a photopass person there capturing every moment. It was great to have the photos to show my family. We toasted with flutes, and enjoyed every minute. We sat there eating dessert and watching wishes with a front row seat!! They did such a great job, I would highly recommend it!

DF proposed to me last year infront of Cinderella's Castle! i absoutly loved it!

FIRST of all, let me say, it was about 105 out(at night!) so i was wearing my bathing suit top and shorts and he kept saying "don't you want to put a shirt on?" and i kept getting so aggrivated with him saying that! i was like "it's like 105 out right now, i'm not putting anything else on!" lol. so we were going to take pictures infront of the castle, like we always do, and DF said "hang on i want to ask them something first" so i didn't even think anything of it and said "fine" and just stood there waiting.

he came back and they took the first picture like normal and then they went to take the second picture and i see him from the corner of my eye crouch down and i'm thinking "omg...he is NOT going to tie his shoe now!" so i turn to look at him and say "what are you doing!?" but i stop dead in my tracks as he's holding the ring in the box up............

says to me "will you let me take care of you forever? will you marry me?".......aww! that was it....i started bawling and i couldn't even talk so i just nodded lol. it was like something out of a movie becauuse there were a ton of people around us and i could hear people gasping and clapping and going "look! look!" it was really sweet! the photopass people took like 8 pictures.

........just be careful with the photopass tho. i'm warning you. we got those 8 pictures taken, and we were trying to figure out at the picture place what we wanted to buy and the guy says "oh you don't have to buy them all now! you can go home and buy the ones you want online!" so we thought it was a good idea, bought one set of one of the pictures, and went home. somehow all of our pictures got erased off of the photopass when they went to upload it. so we only ever got the one picture. it still upsets me, but i'm just glad that i have the one picture.

hey i'll be there the 13th too! unfortunatly i won't be at MK that day, but it would be really sweet to see it!

you could also eat at the Coral Reef. They can arrange for a diver to come down with a proposal banner. Not quite as romantic as the Castle though! :thumbsup2

Wow thanks everybody for all of the great ideas. I actually looked into doing the engagement package at the castle. Does anyone know how long it takes for someone to get back to you when you call that office? I called yesterday evening and I still have not heard back. Should I just wait or should I keep trying? it seems like it is only a machine that picks up

Leave a message when you call and tell them what it's in regards to. They'll get back to you in a couple of days.
