Armed Forces Salute Room/Ticket Discount: 2011/12 (Spring Break Update)

You don't need the code. Just ask for the military discount. Posting the code is not a good idea, but I don't think it's against the rules. The reason I say it's not a good idea, is because people who aren't eligible might try to apply the code. Much like the FD pin earlier this year.

Well i was told I needed the code when I tried yesterday but whatever
Was able to book cr garden view, no standard view rooms where in the deal so I am pretty happy right now

I was also told that the tickets are 138 or 165 for 4 days
I think that is the same price as they where before today's rate increase

but can you book the new Art of Animation w/ the military discount? We're looking at next summer and really want to stay here. Thanks!

There are only 3 standard view rooms. If they claim you need the code, tell them to look it up. The only time we should ask guests for codes is with pins, and they should validate the code if just given a code.

Should be able to. I'm at home, can't check availability atm.

Yes code is out
Not sure if it can be posted
If you need it pm me

The code is a public code and is VV5. You can find it posted on www.mousesavers.com and some other sites. Anyone can call and lie about being eligible for the discount, however, they are supposed to present a military/DoD ID card at check-in. Booking works on the honor system, check-in doesn't, if the CM is following the rules.

If a CM is not familiar with the extension and has trouble finding the new code, they may ask for the code to expedite your booking. However, usually they don't need it, but best to have it handy, just in case.

Yes, when booking begins for AoA, which I believe is 1 June.

Hello, Hello! I have not read through this entire thread, so please forgive me if this has already been answered. My father-in-law, who makes EVERY trip to WDW with us (LOVES seeing his granddaughters light up when they get to WDW every time!!) is retired military. Does this offer apply to him? He can still get on base and purchase everything through the base, etc. Just wasn't sure if this applies to retired vs. active military? We have always considered staying at Shades of Green, but for us, WDW is about the food, characters, and characters at meals- so the DDP is important and we can't get that at SOG. Thanks!!

My husband is retired Air Force and we have always been able to use the military salute tickets and room discounts! Happy planning! :thumbsup2

Yes, as long as he is retired (rather than served & separated) then he is eligible. http://bookwdw.reservations.disney....romotionCode=fy11military&market=fy11military
This offer is for active or retired members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard, Reservists and the U.S. Coast Guard.

You're welcome.

Let me clarify that as of June 1st reservations could be made for AoA, but I've read that some have had to put a September date in online for availability to appear. While it can't be booked online with the military discount, you can look online to get an idea of room rates, categories and dates.

I was able to book CR Tower Room Bay Lake view with military discount for Nov, they said it was the last room in CR for the military discount for that time frame tho..My father was retired military and my mom has a military ID and so the room is in her name, since she is going..

You booked our favorite room at the CR:love:. Congratulations and happy planning!

Has anyone tried to book for the end of October 2011 with the newly released codes? I called & he had a terrible time...the VV5 code didn't work for him. He finally found a code that worked, but the availability was terrible and he couldn't get any military discount code to work w/ dining added on, even though he said that was supposed to work. I'm going to call back & check another day...plus prices seemed to be a lot more than the public discounts currently available for summer. Has this been everyone else's experience?

Someone please tell me if I have this right: If we are going November 6-11 with a group of 12, my active duty dh can purchase 6 tickets and I can stand in line behind him and purchase 6 more. Is that correct? Since it'll be two seperate transactions?

So I called today and the gal I talked to told me that the 40% off rooms had 'always been available' so they 'must have already been booked' and I said 'well the extension was just released on Monday..... so they booked in 36 hrs? All of them?' then she wouldn't say anything else..... except basically I'm SOL and to quit calling....... I REALLY wish that they would do something so that when you call you get the same darn answer for stuff..... I don't know how many different stories I've heard from 'they're not all released yet' to 'o they've been available since January' to 'they were released and are already all booked'

Mind you I have had them look at BLT, the Poly and CR and there are NO rooms at ALL available........

I was able to book last week using the military room discount code for our stay in November.

LOL at this point I'm not worried about it........ its become too stressful for me, so my DH told me to just pay the darn thing off and forget about it :rotfl: And he doesn't even know the half of it b/c he's under the ocean LOL

I posted about this a couple pages ago. I was on the phone with CRO for 45 minutes on Friday. Apparently, you can't book the dining plan YET! You can do room only. The lady I spoke with said to call back later to add the dining. We booked room only at WL for October 16-22. If you look at mousesavers, they say the same thing about the dining plan not being ready yet. I'm sure they'll release it later. But I would go ahead and book the room now. They did NOT have any standard rooms available at WL during our week, the cheapest they had available was woods view bunk beds. Good luck!

according to the rules posted here the other day, yes
but there has been no official update to the policy since the update that it was being extended to 10/1/12

i was offered the dp yesterday so people should be ok

Hoping for a little more help from ya'll, PLEASE! Can discounts/codes be combined? For instance, if I called in and booked 2 rooms with the military 40% discount, and a code comes out for free dining or I get a pin code- can I 'stack' the discounts somehow? What are the rules/guidelines for this?

Also, what are the details on not being able to book the DDP, is that for October 2011 only? Looking at traveling in January 2012- will I need to wait to add that until a later date? Thanks so much for your help- really wanting to do this trip, but needing to get it as inexpensively as possible since we just traveled there 2 weeks ago and the vacation budget is AWFULLY tight these days! Thank You!!
