It doesn't help that I'm PMSing, but have you ever had one of those days (or weeks!) that you just can't believe your kids actually belong to you?? I have 2 teens who I thought I had raised to be responsible, conscientious and considerate individuals. Now I'm not so sure:rolleyes:

Yesterday DS14 calls me at work after school to tell me he's going to a friend's house and he will call when he gets there. No call. I go to my dr. appt. after work on the other side of town and figure I'll pick him up since I'm over there. Call the friend's house--not there--but his backpack is. Thinks they went to the beach. Have no way to get hold of him so drive home. Pull into my driveway and cell phone rings. It's DS ready to be picked up:mad: at the beach. Tell him to be waiting by the parking lot. Guess what? Get there, he's not there. Wait 15 min., go on the beach and DS spots me and comes running. Now we have to stop by friend's house anyway to pick up his backpack. OK--read him the riot act--point made.

Today--wake him up in the morning and ask if he has band after school--"yes" from him. "Are you sure because there's a concert tonight". "yes, mom". OK --end of day--leave work, call home to be sure he's not there--nope--must've had practice. Drive to school and wait, call the house again--no answer. Wait some more. Actually doze off waiting:D Finally call the house again and he answers!!! No practice he says--"I told you no". He was late getting home because of bus problems.

OK--getting ready for the concert now. Read the sheet sent home from school--says he has to be there 6:50, DH is now in the shower, I'm getting dinner ready. DS thinks he remembers the teacher saying the jazz band needs to arrive by 6:30 and calls a friend to confirm--yep, the mom says. Her DS has already left. It's now 6:25. Bang on the door for DH to hurry up and bring him and they just leave. Plus DS tells me he's not doing the quartet that he was supposed to but didn't ask the teacher why:confused:  I am so stressed right now!!!!

I need a day off from motherhood!!! BAD!

Don't even get me started on DD16.

Ohh, that sounds like heaven right about now!

Can't you hear Disney World calling you right now?

And how convenient - we have a board right here for Disney Solo trips!!!!!!!!!!!!!:teeth:

I could use a parental sabbatical about once a week. Anywhere would be good. Just get me outta here!!!

You should set a mileage rate when he screws up. That is one of the teachers at our school did with her kid. Every time he forgot something or messed up a pick up he had to pay her mileage. She actually put it all in his savings, but he didn't know until he graduated from high school.
