Are you worried that your wedding will be considered tacky???

I love the idea of a Disney World wedding. But I'm worried that it will seem really tacky to everyone involved. Plus, if this is supposed to be a fairy tale come true, do I really want it to be like everyone else's wedding at Disney World?

How are you balancing the idea of having a unique, authentic, once-in-a-lifetime wedding with the fact that all these resorts have packages that thousands of other couples have paid for too? I.e. My wedding is just going to be exactly like the other couples who bought my package.*

Is it a turn off that resorts have specific packages that already have set fees?

I think Disney World is a lot less "tacky" than your local American Legion or Reception Hall that everyone you graduated with used, and their parents used. These get decorated with cardboard "just married" signs and there is crepe paper, plastic tablecloths and fold around bells. Now that's tacky. Of course there are your lovely country clubs, but those sometimes get over used too. You may be using the same sites as other Disney Brides, but how many of those brides do your friends and family know.... probably not many--if any. It's a unique experience that the people who WANT to be there will be at--not someone you worked with 4 years ago who is only coming for free beer. Just my $0.02.

Agreed x1000

i could spend the same exact amount of money on a legion hall wedding (complete with the lingering scent of cigarette smoke) and have the crepe paper bells--or I could spend it on 5 days in the carribean and get married on a lovely private island owned by the top entertainment company in the world.

Gee, wonder which one I'm going to choose, and I wonder which one is more "tacky".

Ha!

I want to take a college class where I get to write about Disney weddings! :: pouts::
