Who is trying to loss 10 pounds or more before you go to Disney ... We are here.. 10 is not much and can be done , and this will help us all get around at the parks ... We do not go till Oct 16th so think we can make it ( and then some ) ... :cool1:

Head on over to the WISH forumn. There are tons of people in the same boat!

I would *like* to lose 28 before Disney, but I don't think it is gonna happen in my timeframe. I have hit kinda of a plateau. I have gotten bummed about it. I put on 8lbs. I was at -42 pounds lost since Jan 1st. Currently at -34. I need to just get myself into gear again. I took a pic of myself by my birthday year sign at the PoP about a year and a half ago. I really want to see the change when I retake my pic by the sign this year!!

I tried losing the 10 pounds eight or so trips ago. Still working on that. ;) So good luck to you and everyone else on achieving your goal!

i am.. we are leaving a couple days after you, but i feel it is doable. I have been trying for a while hoping to be part of the 30 by oct,. But life took over. So 10 would make me happy, so i am working on that. Gotta think 1-2 pounds a week so 10 is definately doable

I hate trying to watch what I eat :furious: but, YES ... trying to lose a little. I lost a lot between 2007-2008 (close to 50 pounds!) ... and then gained 20 back. It is so hard to keep the momentum but I know it can be done!

Hang in there and have fun whether you lose the weight or not. Try to walk alot and drink lots of water! :wave2:

-34 is still a fantastic achievement.

I lost a total of 56lb - the last 26 which were done excruciatingly slowly. I ended up binging on junk food which kicked my metabolism back into weight loss!! Very strange, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to fall off the wagon...

I gained 16lb of that back after 3 years, so I'm back to dieting. 5 down, 11 to go...!

I often try to loose 10 pounds before we go to WDW. My motivation is if I loose 10 pounds, or even 5 or so before we go,,,,I can eat what I want and come back at my normal weight! Works for me!

I joined a gym a full year before my trip. I worked my butt off but I gained 7 pounds. Granted, it's all muscle and I do look different but it's totally a bummer to see that on the scale. I didn't miss a workout all stinking year... Until four weeks ago when I hurt my foot and I realized if I didn't rest it, I was going to suffer in WDW. So now my foot is better but I am feeling all lazy and bloated and fat from a month of missed workouts! anyway... I wish I had lost ten pounds!

My mom is trying to lose weight before our trip next month. We are going the same time ya'll are. Of course, my mom has been trying to lose weight since before our Disney Trip in 2003 :rotfl2::rotfl:

Yes. Trying to lose 25. My DD is 6 and DS is 14 months. Pregnancy with DD I gained 68 lbs. lost 50. Pregnancy with DS. I gained about the same but only lost 60. I had a lot of success with Medifast after both pregnancies. But it's hard to stay on it for the long term. I've been trying to work out more and even hired a trainer, but lately, I can't not eat things. I haven't gained but I
am also not losing. We are going to Disney in April and my DD really wants to do the water parks this time. I want to feel comfortable in my bathing suit.

I was working really hard at losing weight and was doing well, but then I started needing to eat like normal and gained a bunch of the weight back. I am actually hoping that I will lose weight at Disney for the first time because we aren't on the Deluxe dining plan this time, for the first time. We will see how this goes. Normally, even with walking 15 to 20 miles a day at WDW I end up gaining weight because of all the food. So I am with you guys, but with 2 weeks left I don't know what I am gonna do.

You can do it!!! Just think of how cute you're gonna be in your new Disney tshirt!!!

yes, exactly 10 pounds is how much i have left to go. i've lost 30 pounds since january of this year and i want to be done with my weight loss by january of next. i've been lazy lately tho because it's so hot and running in heat makes me feel like i'm trying to breathe in soup instead of air. i can't wait for the cooler weather to come. i use fitness pal and a polar ft4 so it's easy and just a matter of math as long as i can go outside.

I am currently trying to lose 20-25lbs by January. I am working with a personal trainer and nutritionist. My nutritionist has taught me a lot. One thing I have found is that I was eating very little protein b/c I was trying to eat low cal (1500 per day.) She suggested a program called Isagenix and I LOVE it!! I started it about 30 days ago and did a modified version of it that my nutritionist planned for me and as of today I have lost 6 lbs and 15.5 inches in 30 days. I am working out with a trainer 2-3 times per week and using an elliptical two more. But I am convinced it's the protein shakes and the supplements that are helping me. If you have heard of Advocare, it is similar but it is better in my opinion b/c it has natural sweeteners and has gotten rid of almost all the soy that is commonly found in protein shakes. I do not want a bunch of soy in my system b/c it's not good for a woman of child bearing age. Soy can really mess up your hormones if taken in large quantities. So, for me, Isagenix has been a real blessing and has helped me lose the weight faster than I would've with just diet/exercise.

Glad to see there are others out there working on weight loss and have Disney as a goal! I seriously think about the amazing way I will feel walking around the World in January if I can drop this weight! It will make my trip just that much better!! :) :cool1:

I am down 24 pounds and DW is down 7 so far .. But we got back on the scale tomrrow morning so will let you all know how we did ... We have 32 days till we go ... Best of luck to you all:moped:

Ok guys, here's the truth:

No alcohol, and planned portions. Exercise. That's how you'll lose it. You can't just do cardio; you won't gain muscle. And you can't just do weight training; you won't burn fat.

You have to do weight training 2-3 times a week and cardio 3-4 times per week. You have to watch what you're eating - not stop eating, just watch it! No more snacks, only meals, every 2-3 hours!! Cut out as much salt and sugar as possible - eat the good fats => avocado, cashews, almonds. Have a protein, a carb, and a fat at every meal, and eat small meals 4-5 times a day. Cut out the fat if you can and just have a protein and a carb. You'll lose; you can't help it.

I'm not big but I just lost 16 pounds on a diet that never left me hungry. Weight training, watching my diet, and exercise saved the day. I notice if I over indulge in salt; I gain about two pounds a day! Sugar is my weakness, but running helps.

I went down again this week and so did DW we are going in 31 days ... Get it done all of you ...:moped:

Me too. I want to actually like my pictures next time!

I would be happy with 5-10 lbs. (I'm really short), and more toned arms.

I joined a gym last week, and my SO bought a bike..so we are both working on it.
