A distant cousin of mine in General Pershing of WWI fame. The family, which came over in 1720's, had the original Dutch spelling "Pffoershing" (I think). My grandma's big on the whole geneology thing.
My DBF has an ex brother-in-law who was a major leaguer. He's also distantly related to Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest.

Gabriel Dumont, a famous figure in Canadian history, though I'm not sure if we're related by blood or marriage. And there is a street in Quebec with my very unusual maiden name on it. I believe it was named after a nun by that name, and she is probably a distant relation as well.

DH is related by marriage to comedian George Carlin.

Not sure if this counts but my Saint Bernard is related to Beethoven the Original Saint from the Beethoven (First one) Movie! Its in her pedigree! He was her great great great great "uncle" LOL
