We just got the call today. It is now official, my son will be going on his make a wish trip December 7-12. We will be staying at the Paradise pier hotel. That is all they have confirmed as of now.

I would love and tips or hints on how we can add to this and make this the very best trip of his life. We will be there over his Birthday and I wondered if anyone has used the Disney dream makers services? I would love to spend the day in DL and come back to the room with a Birthday party all set up.

We are on a tapped budget do to medical expenses so I was curious if anyone knows a price range?

Thank you in advance for any help.

:welcome: to the board!!!!! There are so many great people on here who can give you some help in this area. I wish I had some information for you but have never used those services. How wonderful you are able to do this trip though make a wish for your son, especially over his birthday! I know you will have a magical time!!

That's wonderful that your son and your family will be able to celebrate his birthday at DLR! Make-a-Wish is such an inspiring program! My family will be there at the same time and my DD will be turning 7. How old will your son be? Is he into Star Wars? There's a great thread for how to get picked to go up on stage during the Jedi Training Academy. There's lots of inexpensive ways to make a birthday special. Get a birthday button at Town Hall, ask the conductor to ride up front or if you could get a ride on the Lilly Belle, make reservations for Pat E. Cake's for a birthday celebration with cake making and games with Mickey and Minnie.

There were several threads going about the planners who do the gift baskets, food surprises (like cookies and milk), and baloons a couple of weeks ago. I'll see if I can find them. If not, don't hesitate to start your own thread and asking about them.

So glad you're joining us here on the DISBoards to help plan your trip. It's a really nice group of people and I think you'll get lots of excellent ideas.

Uh oh. No Fantasmic! listed on the entertainment schedule for Friday, December 11th. Maybe it's just an oversight, but that's not a good sign for F! during December.

11 of us will be in Disneyland from December 13-19.

Staying in 4 rooms at HOJO's. Should be interesting with ages 2 through 65! Just getting PS's arranged this weekend hopefully and planning on booking the Holiday tour for hopefully the Monday. 5 first-timers should be enjoyable!

Anyone have any great tips for boys around age 9 to do while the girls lunch at Ariel's? I was thinking maybe the Jedi Training Academy? Any other cool meals or any suggestions? He's a boys boy and likes action stuff!

Thanks!

FourOrchards............18th thru 22nd, Disneyland Hotel

:goodvibes Update on ours....we booked at the Grand Californian...decided to splurge since it was our Christmas Vacation. :wizard:

I just booked a trip! December 14-16, had to take advantage of those $25 Southwest flights!!! It's just me and my son, he just turned 8, and I really wanted to take him for his birthday but it just didn't work out. We usually go for the week of Thanksgiving, but that also wasn't going to work this year, and last year it was much busier than in the past, so I was already thinking of switching to another week for our fall trip. Well, we had to push it back a little more, and I'm sad about missing out on the Halloween stuff this year, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Christmastime in Disneyland... already can't wait for the fireworks and snow!

Oh, we're staying at Hojo's - Entertainment Rate... yippee!!!

Hey Dawn, I see some of my diva friends will be there the first weekend of December so I'll for sure want to meet up with them.

I wanted to share a really cute inexpensive gift I bought when we were at Disneyland last weekend. We found these 3 D Holiday placemats in the little store in the lobby of the Grand Californian. They are Really pretty when you see them in person. And at such a good price.

Sorry the pics are not so good, they blurred because of the high glaze on them and also i snapped them on the fly while my grandchildren were baking upcakes. We had frosting and sprinkles Everywhere!:rotfl:

Hard to find anything in the park to take home for this price.

They had the stack of these placemats near the disney christmas decorations. I don't know if they have them throughout the park, but I'd check on mainstreet. They were a big hit with our 3 grandchildren.:thumbsup2

Yeah, I was just noticing that too. I can't believe that they will not be having it the first couple of weekends in December. Maybe they are just waiting to decide if there will be one or two shows those nights. Here's hoping it's an oversight and that it will show up soon! :goodvibes

Hi Dawn!:wave2:

Can you please erase me for Dec 4-6 at the Villas and add me to Dec 12-14 at Paradise Pier? Thanks, friend.:cutie:

Oh, and I love those placemats, very cute. Sometimes that little store in the Grand has unique things not found in the parks. I know I got some Grand Ca jammers there one year that I loved.:lovestruc

Spoke to a CM - official entertainment schedule doesn't come out until 30 days prior. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed what we are seeing isn't the final schedule.
