We are changing our dates to Dec. 13-18th. Won't be there on my actual b-day now but it works better for DH's work. I am just so thrilled we are going!!!!!!!!

Red Lion Hotel was formerly Anaheim Maingate. I've never stayed there (under either ownership), but have noticed it's getting much better reviews now since it changed over and got the whole renovation. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...ed_Lion_Hotel_Anaheim-Anaheim_California.html

We're still set and booked for 12/6-12/11. Does anyone know for sure yet if the CM parties will land during this time? I know that the CLP will likely be on 12/5 & 12/6, correct?

Anyone packed a small fake tree (for the hotel room) on a flight before? Thanks for the idea, I think I am going to try it! I am also going to get the kids some Disney Christmas jammies to pack and surprise them with when they are there. Anyone else have any other ideas on how to make the trip more magical?

my2mickeykids... i was thinking about getting a little tree and bringing it too. Our dollar store had cute little fake trees.. in pink, and also traditional green. Wait til fall and maybe yours will put them out. It might be fun to make some ornaments for the trees in between now and your trip, then put them in a little box to take. We made some out of the center of paper plates..they colored them then glitter decorated..we hung them from paper clips. Easy, Inexpensive and a fun keepsake.

I've been watching the clearance sales at Disney Store online.. and picked up some cute winter pjs. You might check there.

I want to make some cookies for the room. A savory snack mix and some fudge for snacking.

What about stockings? We could put disney dollars or disney gift cards in them? Or disney gloves? Or a disney wallet. A flashlight? OOohh what about a disposable camera! Maybe a tiny mickey? I love little stuffed animals the best

We're going Dec. 5-9 and staying at the Villas at Grand California!!! We will be celebrating DS's 1st birthday. Can't wait, we always go in December, but had to miss last year since DS was born...so excited to take him and DD for the holiday decorations. Also can't wait to take our villas out for a spin

This is our first post-thanksgiving week at DL - we generally are at WDW.

I ALWAYS send a box or two ahead. We have friends in Florida so Christmas gifts are always sent down to share when we are there.

As far as decorations.......

Lights for the Balcony

Snowflakes (BIG ones from the dollar store) and yarn to hang them outside on the balcony

Snowman flag - tradition - Frosty has traveled with us for the last 5 years

Santa windsock - same as above

Christmas napkins - we often eat an afternoon snack in the room

I have always carried assorted trees to keep in our room. I generally pickup a small 3 foot tree right after Christmas the year before the trip. If not....checkout Walmart at home. Lots of affordable choices.

Next, a string of lights and silk flowers for the tree. Checkout the Dollar Store in your town....they have an entire SECTION of Christmas Decorations which are cute and you will not mind leaving behind.

One year we wraped our door like a giant Christmas Gift - bow and giant gift tag included.

You can always find some sort of Christmas stocking or Stocking kit at the dollar store. Touch up with some sparkle paint and you are ready to go!



Each year (this one included), I tell myself I will keep the decorations under control. My DH gives a big sigh and says....ok dear. Each year the box of fun things ships out to arrive in time for us to setup the room.
