Are you impacted by the Jif peanut butter recall?

I was in WalMart the other day and the peanut butter shelves were more than half empty. Wound up buying a small jar of Smooth Great Value, not into the Chunky style.

It still only affects you if you have the batch numbers listed. Then you take it back to the store and replace it with safe ones.

Not quite that easy. We had two jars that were part of the recall. I returned them the day the recall was announced. There has been no Jif on any shelf in the area since then. Safeway, Harris Teeter, Weis, Target and Walmart have not received any new stock since the recall occured. So no, we can't just replace it with safe ones. Personally I am not picky ( I prefer Skippy but will eat anything), but my wife and kids will only eat Jif so its been noticeable these past weeks and will be more so now that school is out.

Yes. Requested reimbursement from JIF and threw the (unopened) jar away.

I just bought some new Peanut Butter after throwing away our old stuff. I didn't think to buy any when I went grocery shopping last, but I happened to be at Target tonight. There were basically two jars on the shelf and we snagged one. It was twice the size of what I usually buy so hopefully it will last us until supply issues even out.

I can’t wait until Jif comes back to my store. Only Skippy and Peter Pan available, and I don’t really like either. However, I do like having a peanut butter sandwich for dinner when it’s too hot to cook, so I have been buying small jars and making faces while I eat it. The peanut butter shelves were almost completely empty, with maybe two dozen jars at most available to buy. I need to get restocked for hurricane season!

My DH went shopping today and said all Jif was removed from our grocery store. I put it on the list in advance of absolutely needing it so hopefully will be back when he goes next week or will just pick some other brand.
