Are you from Pennsylvania?

I'm from the Somerton section of Far Northeast Philly. Basically I'm right on the edge of the city - minutes from Willow Grove, Franklin Mills, Bensalem.

It's amazing how many people on here live so close.

Cart-mom, whereabouts in Somerton if you don't mind me asking? I am not too far from the ballfields on Southampton- my DH says that he can hit Bucks County with a 2-iron

How would you all feel about a picnic at Valley Forge Park which is sort of near the KofP Mall?

That works for me... I live right around the corner and walk there a couple times a week!!!!!

I live 12 miles east of Pittsburgh a suburb called Penn Hills.

You can't reserve a space unless you have over 100 people which I doubt we'd have. He said the BBQ's are on a first come, first serve basis but a lot of people bring their own in. You just have to get rid of the coals because they don't have a place for them. I think it would be a nice location because the kids could run around. We could divide up the food to bring and the BBQ's too. What do you think? Here's a link to the map and he said the Wayne picnic area would be the best to meet at.

I'm up for it. Do they have pavilions, do you know? In case it rains?

On the other hand, doesn't the K of P Mall have a food court? That would be a nice set up.

The food court would be fine too. I just thought it would be nice to be outside at the park. On the other hand we are in trouble if the weather doesn't hold up. I don' t know if they have covered pavillions or not. However even if they do we can't reserve them.

Hey Y'all - From Fulton County here - just west of Harrisburg!!!

Valley Forge park works for me! Not sure when we'd fit it in though. What do you all think of a meet in mid- or late-July?

We live about 1/2 hour north of Reading. DH grew up just outside of Pittsburgh in McKees Rocks and then Coraopolis.

Follow the Susquehanna River north, about an hour from Harrisburg and you will find my town!

I would love to attend a DIS meet, but KOP mall is almost 3 hours for my......just a bit too far for one day. :(

Karen, there is a Yankee Candle store there...

Living in Hickory, NC...but my real home is in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

I miss South Hills Village...and riding the T,

I live in the Allentown area but grew up near Knoebel's Amusement Resort.

Ooh, ooh, can I post here too? I'm not from PA, but DH grew up in Perry County, outside of Harrisburg, so I've been there a lot in the past 4+ years. His mom works at the Hershey Medical Center, so we get great discounts to the park!

LOL kpgclark!!!! :) :)

That makes it very tempting and probably the closest Yankee Candle Store to me!!!

Karen
