I'm from the Somerton section of Far Northeast Philly. Basically I'm right on the edge of the city - minutes from Willow Grove, Franklin Mills, Bensalem.
It's amazing how many people on here live so close.
Cart-mom, whereabouts in Somerton if you don't mind me asking? I am not too far from the ballfields on Southampton- my DH says that he can hit Bucks County with a 2-iron
Originally posted by kpgclark How would you all feel about a picnic at Valley Forge Park which is sort of near the KofP Mall? I phoned them up and they said they have a few BBQ's and some picnic tables too. You can't reserve a space unless you have over 100 people which I doubt we'd have. He said the BBQ's are on a first come, first serve basis but a lot of people bring their own in. You just have to get rid of the coals because they don't have a place for them. I think it would be a nice location because the kids could run around. We could divide up the food to bring and the BBQ's too. What do you think? Here's a link to the map and he said the Wayne picnic area would be the best to meet at.
The food court would be fine too. I just thought it would be nice to be outside at the park. On the other hand we are in trouble if the weather doesn't hold up. I don' t know if they have covered pavillions or not. However even if they do we can't reserve them.
Ooh, ooh, can I post here too? I'm not from PA, but DH grew up in Perry County, outside of Harrisburg, so I've been there a lot in the past 4+ years. His mom works at the Hershey Medical Center, so we get great discounts to the park!
lived in Pittsburgh (when I was really little, don't even remember being there), then to Springfield, PA, then to Secane, PA then to Media, PA, then to West Chester, PA
