Are you ever worried about getting banned?

can you ask for a poster to be banned if they are blatently offensive and spouting anti-Semitism of a thread (the Iran one...)?

Only once was I ever worried. I was an innocent (see my halo?) newbie with less than 10 posts, and somebody on the Resorts board had posted that they were never Never NEVER staying at Pop Century ever Ever EVER again, because DD had seen a bug she thought MIGHT have been a roach. I had the gall to post that in resorts as large as those at WDW (and also being in central FL), I was surprised at how few roaches I have seen anywhere on property... ONE (possible) roach was going to ruin a whole vacation?!? I guess my post was taken flippantly and I was raked over the coals

More recently, I remember a rather heated automotive debate - quality of imports versus domestics that got a little out of hand here on CB.

Never been warned, probably have said (typed) mucho stuff I'd be ashamed of though.

I have been known to get involved in some risque' talk - as a matter of fact, I think T & B started it, and Shugardrawers might have been involved, too - you two are trouble makers.

It's probably a good thing I only DIS at work.

Just that one time that I started the Victoria & Albert's thread. I thought it was harmless, but it turned into a firestorm.

I remember that thread. It's not often you go to the Restaurant forum and see the little "locked" symbol...what that turned into was just...wow...

I too have perfected the "write, read, delete" technique...

Nah...I don't worry about it.

I don't think I've ever said anything so blatantly horrific that it would warrant banning. At least, the mods have never told me I have!!!!

Yes, you click on the little exclamation point on each posters sig box and you can report the post.


As for being banned. Well, I would have been several times if I was not very adept at using my delete key. There are also a couple of posters who I have to simply not read what they say because they make me too mad and I will just not be able to resist being a bad word to them.

There was that thread on the Restaurant board about being fat if you wore a size 12 that really got to me. I am pretty sure I edited appropriately but I know my first response was borderline. That one got locked too.

And.....yeah....I think there have been a few when I flinched after hitting the submit button. I try my darndest not to get involved in stuff that just isn't fun but sometimes the really stupid people get to me.

Yes, I worry sometimes. I've known people (as in more than one) who were banned with no warnings. I feel you aren't allowed to support or ever mention someone unfairly banned either for risk of being banned yourself. You have to pretend they never existed.

So for that reason, sometimes I fear being banned for simply posting. Sometimes I just never understand why some people were banned.

I'm another who tries to NOT post what I would really like to say...just so I can stick around.
