Are you ever worried about getting banned?

about a week later i posted to another thread wherein someone wanted info. on some item-i tried to post the name (only) of the company i knew carried the item but it kept coming up as a link (which my understanding of the boards is a no-no to post) so as a solution i posted it as "companynamedotcom" (actualy spelled it out that way)-BINGO! the "professional" sent me a pm saying i had "knowingly and with malicious intent took action to attempt to override the internal security mechanisms of the dis"..."any further actions we deem inappropriate will result in loss of posting privledges"

We aren't supposed to post links to other websites? Is that it? That happens every hour of every day around here. Am I missing what the real "problem" was?

on the link stuff-i thought it was not supposed to be done and tried to post in such a way that it would'nt (some brand names pop up that link weather you want it or not)-don't know if you are or are not supposed to. just know to never ever ever put the words "dot com" after a brand name or the wrath of the mod will befall me

I'd show you a thread I started, but it literally DISappeared after 70+ views. Not "closed" no -- ---'s. Post's I've made are now edited/partially deleted per the advice of a WMaster. YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO POST IN FEAR OF a MOD.

I've been here almost since this site began. I have to admit that I take a certain smug satisfaction over the fact that I haven't been banned here when so many others have. (Ha ha to a few of you who are on your third, fourth or many more DIS usernames! )

That said, I'm not sure why being banned is a big deal here. I see so many new usernames that obviously belong to old time DISers. There are many people who get banned and come back time and again, so apparently, bannings are not forever.

I've been warned and had posts removed, but I think it would be unusual to not have that happen at least a time or two when you have as many posts as I do.

If they haven't banned you for that picture of Chachi by now I don't think you have anything to worry about. Unless of course you replace it with a beaver who thinks he's a hamster but looks like a squirrel. That might do it.

Yeah, I was staying in a pup tent at FW with no hookups and I just meandered over to POR and took a dip. You don't have a problem with that do you?

Not yet. I did start a post a few years ago and someone else got banned because of her replies.
I can say that I have typed a lot of heated replies and then deleted them. Those trolls sometimes lure me in - especially when they keep changing their user IDs.
