If you are, you can get a 12% discount off your T-Mobile bill (any reoccurring monthly charges).

I just signed up with AAA last night, called T-Mobile Corp. Migration Dept. today and not only was the 12% discount applied to my account, they are giving me a $76-something credit for 2 previous activations on our family plan. It takes a billing cycle for the 12% credit to begin appearing on your bill.

Call 877-453-8824 between 8 am-6 pm (EST) to request.

If you google this phone number: 877-453-8824, you might find other discounts for students, employees, etc. if you do not belong to AAA. My yearly membership cost $54.95 and I'm more than $20 ahead the day after paying for it :)

do you get discounts with others carriers? how do you find out?

I don't know about other carriers, that's a good question!

I didn't see anything about the T-Mobile discount on AAA's website, I read about it on a BlackBerry message board.

Maybe search for forums for your carrier and then discounts?

Thank you, thank you ...you just saved me $20/mo and my mom $ too!
Who knew! Apparently you did

From what I understand this just started about a month ago. I know AAA has promoted TMobile for quite a while now and they waive the activation fee. This is a great deal also. :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting this. I just had it applied to my account also.

i'd never do biz w / t mobile.

I wonder if you have the "family" plan if you get it off the entire bill or just the 1st line?

I have the family plan with five lines and myfaves. The discount is on the entire bill. I love TMobile, I have been with them for years and they have great customer service. There are never any hidden charges on my bill.

Good to know. We keep saying we are going to get AAA and we never do. Yet another incentive.

Great, thanks for the info. How did you find this out?

I just called TMobile number on my account and they transferred me over. All done, thank you so much.

The only change is the billing cycle will be on the 27th (instead of my 23rd date).

Thank you so much! I just applied this to my account. The rep said that this is a variable discount worth up to 12%? So I guess I'll see how much I get when I receive the updated bill. But any discount is good!

Why not may I ask? I'm considering getting T Mobile for the kids, we currently have Verizon but I feel we pay too much because we never use all of our minutes......

wow- thanks for that post. that was quick and easy. we have had tmobile for years- never a problem (we have 4 lines, and have the 5 faves thing). the only thing i don't like about tmobile is they don't have the iphone. but for the poster who is thinking about going with tmobile- we really have never had a problem.

It started in June and I found out on a BlackBerry message board. I knew about it right away but didn't get around to getting AAA until the other day.

We have 5 on a family plan with unlimited family text and Hotspots@Home (so we can make unlimited free calls with our phones using wifi) so the savings is a lot for us.

I think the reason they say "up to" 12% is that it's only on reoccurring charges. It wouldn't be on text charges for those without a plan, any charges over the minutes bucket, downloads, etc.

My daughter wanted the iphone so she bought one on eBay (paid the same as she would have for an itouch), then followed some instructions online so she can use her t-mobile sim card in it, works just fine.

She does all the internet/app stuff on wifi, and then only sends texts and calls when she isn't connected to wifi.

My husband I got new BlackBerry phones free at Walmart for 2 year contract extensions and we don't have a data plan (but as of today, only the Pearl and Pearl Flip are exempt from the data plan requirement). We can do web browsing, etc. free on them while on wifi.

I've been with T-Mobile since they were Voicestream. I've never had a problem with customer service or service. Last month they even sent me a $100 Visa gift card and all it said was "thanks for being a loyal customer." I also got $50 checks for recycling old phones when we got the two new BlackBerry phones, they provided a pre-paid mailer to send them in - we sent in my kids' old Virgin Mobile phones.

We've made all the kids pay for their own pre-paid phone plan for 2-3 years before putting them on our family plan so they would learn how to manage minutes and realize that cell phones cost money.
