Are you a T-Mobile and AAA customer?

This is all great information...

Many of the retailers have special promotions that double the discounts...

For example Reebok doubles the 20% off to 40% 0ff 4x per year. The next one is Sept 2-6 at Reebok outlets only.

Also at Disney you also get the Free Disney Story time Experience where an Unmasked Character comes and reads their story and then spend quality time with those that are registered for the event. You can only get the voucher when you book with AAA. Also the Diamond discount card gets you 10% off at The World of Disney store along with other great discounts on dining backstage tours and mini golf and the like. In our area Memberships start at $56/ year and the average family of 4 saves over $200+ on every Disney booking. Plus if you have a pin code you can use that and get the AAA benefits as well.

If you are interested I can help you find you nearest AAA office. Most of the time there are additional local AAA discounts as well. In Chicago you can get BOGO skyline lunch cruises off of Navy Pier, discounts on museum fees and the like.

Thank you for posting the number!

We just added Ohio State University for a 15% discount and they gave me a refund of the activation fee we paid back in June!

That's $35 for the activation fee and then the 15% too; which almost pays for my data plan I just added!

:woohoo:

I have the AAA basic membership. What is the Diamond discount card?

Donna

It comes with your Disney package when you book it with a AAA Travel Agent. Page 10 of the AAA Disney brochure has a pretty comprehensive list of what discounts are included with the card in your package. There are discounts under the catagories of Dining, Recreation, Spa, Merchandise, Disney Tours, and a discount at the AAA car care center for repairs and service. Discounts range from 10-20%

I'm not a happy t-Mobile customer. If they'll resolve my issues, I'll definitely sign up for this credit (and I'll probably do it anyway to get retroactive credits to my account. HA!)

It seems that T-Mobile has ceased to allow their phones to hit the cell tower that's nearest my home since it's an AT&T tower and they apparently were paying too much for the rights (This according to a T-Mobile rep). If they'll comp me the T-Mobile at home, I'll keep their service. If not, I have to move to a different service.

My phone used to get full-bars reception at home with no dropped calls. A month ago it abruptly changed, now I'm lucky to get one bar in the house for a max of five minutes. I can't send or receive text messages at home. I go literally two block away from my house and reception is great.

SO, not real happy with T-Mobile right now. Still waiting to get that resolved.

ok, deep breath, I didn't mean to turn this into a TMobile gripe session!

I love my AAA membership. I use it on purchases from New York & Co (often can stack a AAA discount on top of their other sales, few limitations). We've also used it at LensCrafters for a significant discount over any of the coupons they were offering. And of course the books and maps! I know some think the travel book and map are becoming obsolete thanks to handheld GPS devices and web-enabled cell phones. But I carry maps, an atlas, AND a GPS in my car! I like the big picture sometimes. :) And a book is MUCH easier to browse than a website. Especially when you're in the car!

The AAA towing plan is NOT GREAT. They cover something like 7 miles towing on a basic membership. But you can usually get a towing rider on your car insurance. I think ours is $6 every six months. And they'll come out and bring you gas and change a tire -- I had to take advantage of that last year.

I am happy to hear they have a AAA discount!

First, thanks for all the ideas for using my new AAA membership!

This happened to me once several years ago, it's extremely frustrating - sorry you are going through it too.

AT&T would keep boosting their signal and then T-Mobile would boost theirs and it went on and on. Finally some kind of complaint was filed and both companies had to agree to keep their signal strengths the same on the towers so they would pick up their own customers. It's regulated somehow in many states to avoid this, the same way gas pumps are checked for accuracy, etc.

I think the answer you got from customer service wasn't enough info. as I doubt they give up tower locations very often, I would bet its another signal boosting war since you can go 2 blocks to get good coverage. This tactic works really good as people will get mad and switch to the competing company.

Have you taken your complaint directly to your sales office? My husband is a T-Mobile engineering manager and they get requests all the time from the sales department to look into service problems. They will send out an RF Engineer to drive test the area and see what the problem is. I hope that helps you.

Thanks mgulsvig -- I did visit the retail store yesterday and they were very helpful. I've gotten three or four different stories when I'd call local or national, these guys actually knew what they were talking about for a change. Coincidentally, everything is working fine today -- after being offline for 7 weeks, our local tower has been turned back on.

Now about that AAA discount!!!

If you add towing to your membership I believe they will tow 100 miles per year. The basic membership is just that, basic and I don't believe it's that expensive. Just the cost of having them unlock my car is worth the membership to me! One time I was traveling and they were there within 10 min of my call that I had locked my keys in the car!

I have used the Target.com discount several times. We stay almost exclusively at Hilton properties an average of 2 times per month and have found that the AAA rate is usually the cheapest booking option.

With the AAA Gold card you get free towing for something like 200 miles. I forget what it is. You have to be a AAA member for a certain # of years before you can become a gold member. Incidentally, you can get AAA Diamond parking by just buying park tickets there. You don't need to get the whole package. The tickets are discounted there by the way. In addition, I also get discounted movie tickets and several restaurants around me offer free kids meals with a AAA discount. Go to their website and it will list discounts. May parks (i.e Six Flags, Universal) also have AAA discounted tickets. Well worth it IMHO.

Yes, you can upgrade to AAA Plus and get 100 miles of towing.
But for me it's cheaper to add the towing to my insurance than upgrade to plus.

I just added the discount to my TMobile account, it took less than five minutes! yay

I called 877-453-8824 -- you will need to provide your AAA account number and a phone number from the back of your membership card.

Called tmobile Thursday to add this discount, since the billing is under my husbands name and the AAA was in my name, the rep. said I could get another AAA card in my husbands name(could have changed the Tmobile biilling to my name but seemed much easier to just get another AAA card to avoid all the hassle) She said I could then add the discount to the Tmobile account , which would be a flat 12%, just by having my husband call in with his new AAA. So I called AAA,paid the extra for the rest of my membership term to add my husband and I drove over and picked up his card. Today, he called Tmobile and they said he already had the lowest rate available, and that the discount could only be added for "extra features"????????Has anyone had this happen....or do you think my husband had a newbie rep and that we should call again?thanks

Definitely call again and I would ask for a supervisor if they give you the run around again.

Does he work for a certain company that allows discount which he might have used when he opened the TMobile account? (Like city employees, etc.). If so, it might be they only allow one discount.

Good luck if you call again and keep us posted.

Just as a FYI---EVERY AAA HAS DIFFERENT POLICIES! The towing is different from club to club. I know mine is 100 miles with the plus, but somebody in PA could have a completely different thing! :)

Also, there are always local discounts available too with AAA---check out their website for more details and you can search by zip code.

THANK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION!

I called and it was so easy to have the AAA discount applied to my TMobile bill. So starting my next billing cycle, I'll be saving 12% every month. Every little bit of savings helps, and I really appreciate the OP for posting this!
