I mean in general not here on the boards. I've come to realize IRL I have no friends ahah. I stay home all the time with my family (live next door to my parents, sister and her boyfriend). I have a 10 yr old dd too.

I scrapbook...and sometimes I go to crops. I will spend like 8 hrs in a room with women that have the same hobby as me. Yet, I dont really say much.

I was just wondering who else is a loner by nature?

Definately got company with me here. IRL I have no friends other than my family. We don't ever go out with other couples. When I am at a party or get together I don't usually talk to people unless they talk to me first. I keep telling DH we have to go to one of these DIS meets at WDW so we can maybe meet some people we have something in common with. I am only 26 and we have been married 5 years with 2 kids. Most of our friends aren't even married let alone have children.

I think I am more of a loner as well. I have a few friends that have had for years & I basically just keep them. We do alot with my sil & her husband, but that is really the only couple that we hang out with. My DH was in a fraternity so he has lots of friends. Sometimes I am jealous that he always has people to talk to & do stuff with.

Almost total loner by nature. I have friends but don't spend much time actually with them. I do a lot of email. I don't have a family. I work a lot.

Loner. I really prefer to be by myself. :)

Both, or either, depending on the day. :sunny:

I can be perfectly happy hiding in the house with not another soul to talk to for days, or I can have the time of my life at a party where I have to mingle and meet and get to know every person there.

I'd say I'm a semi-loner by nature. I'm fairly quiet and just enjoy doing things by myself at times.

i tend to be more of a loner--i still live at home while going to college and most of my friends are away at school..i go to school, work , and come home..most of the weekends im doing homework or projects..

I am both. I need time alone each night to be happy, content, whichever. But I also love to go out and have a good time with my friends.

In a small group of people I know I'm OK.
With a crowd or people I don't know I'm a mouse.
No not Mickey. :rotfl2:
Yes I would say I'm a loner.

I'd have to say that IRL I'm a loner as well. I spend most of my time with my family and DF ( and my nine cats of course :rotfl:). I feel that at my age I at an outs with most of my "peers". While many of my past classmates and old friends are just graduating college, partying and figuring out life, I'm at a completely different place ( getting married, focusing on creating a family and my artistic pursuits). I don't really find much common ground with people that I used to be friends with and though it may seem lonely, I really enjoy my lack of a social life  :goodvibes

Im a bit of both. Im perfectly content to stay home and hang out by myself. Do what I want to do and when I want to do it. I dont mind going places alone, like the movies or out to eat. But then there are times when I like to meet new people and hang out with friends. Or try new things just to meet new people or just to get out there. Depends on my mood mostly.

I am a hermit. I always have been. I have a few very close friends, but I don't spend a ton of time with them. I like being alone or just with my family. Also I avoid social situations, I do not find 'parties' to be much fun. One on one is more my style. My husband is even more so that way. Sometimes I joke about us being the Aspergers family...

We are also both INTP on the personality test (forgot what that scale is called, but most everyone has heard of it). That is the one that makes up less than 2% of the population.

My kids are all pretty much the same way. Of the three my daughter is the most social. But she shows some signs of having the hermit nature... I hear about other girls her age getting their feelings hurt or feeling left out, my daughter complaines that the other girls will not leave her alone and everyone always wants to play with her.

I'm a loner too. I have lots of aquaintances but very few friends. And the ones I do consider friends I don't get to see much because they are going their own thing. I am like you Jennasmomma, I can be in a room with a bunch of women with the same interests as me and I get along well with them. But i'm just to shy or whatnot to ask for their phone number to get together again.

wow tons of responses quickly. Im glad to see Im not the only loner. I use to have friends but Im so over the "he said, she said" mentality they had. I also have a lot of medical problems so I dont work.

I'd say I'm a little bit of both. I don't like large groups of people that I don't know any of.... but have a ton of fun with the good friends I do have. I was in a sorority in college and am still close with many of them. I'd say I'm out-going one on one but prefer to stay quiet in big groups (unless I know them all ;) ). I do love going out and going to parties when I'm in the mood for that.

I also love sitting at home alone on the couch and watching a movie or TV though. I like my alone time or just me and DBF time :goodvibes

I'm somewhere in the middle. I can be sociable, but I'm also VERY comfortable with my own company. I have a stong need for time alone. I used to drive my youth leaders and coaches nuts becuase we'd go on trips in school and I'd literally HAVE to go off on my own or I'd go nuts!
