Are we nuts for bringing a 4-month-old?

My daughter has been going since she was 3 months old. Granted, we are local, but Disney is an easy place to take a baby.

We took DD when she was 4.5months. DS was 4 years old and a WDW vet...we switched our typical trip from September to December because I was worried about the little baby in the extreme heat - but December at 4 months was great!! She was a dream - enjoyed everything, portable, flexible, and didn't require much (no solid foods yet). I nursed her in many places around the world and she got a few bottles a day based on our schedule. The 4 year old was much harder to deal with!! ;)

We dressed in layers because the weather varied often through the day. We also stayed at BLT in a 1bdrm (we are DVc can) and I am sure that improved my opinion on the ease of this trip. I took DSL when he was 11months old and stayed at POFQ - it was a little harder to deal with bottles and solid food but still very manageable.

I am pretty confident that you will be okay (better than okay even!) since he is your 3rd kid!

We took our youngest child at 5 months, and when we go next fall, our newest baby should be about 5 months. As long as it's an easy-going baby, it should be fine. It takes a little extra planning, but not much. Just have a lightweight blanket in case it gets cold, and carry extra socks because baby socks always fall off. Do have a really good baby carrier that you and the baby like. I like my Ergo, but if your baby is a small one, just about anything should be comfortable for you.

I think you are crazy, but in a good way! :) We took our son at 2.5 months and had a great trip. He was very easy, just slept in the carrier most of the time! I have my trip report linked in my signature if you want to read more about it.

We took DS when he was just under 4 months, our older DS was devastated to miss Star Wars Weekends, and baby was easy so we booked last minute. It was fine!! Here are my tips:

-Know where every baby center is. I spent a lot of time there.
- accept that one of you might need to miss some pool time, or night in the park, to give the baby some quality rest
-bring a really good, shady stroller and some Muslin or light cotton to drape over for more shade
- talk to your pediatrician about sunblock and fluids if it's very hot
-bring a sling or some type of baby wearing device, sometimes it was easier to carry him then have him in and out of the stroller, and a lot of restaurants/QS don't allow strollers
- make sure you utilize baby swap passes

PM me if you have questions! If I think of more I will come back. We all Survived, he took his second trip in Sept at 7 months and will go back in Feb!

Not nuts at all! Our 3 year old's 1st trip was when he was 4 months old. He was so easy!! He nursed, hung out in the carrier and slept the whole time. He wasn't sleeping through the night at that age, which I was worried about him waking everyone else in the room, but it wasn't bad. At that time our other kids were 8 and 5...so almost the same age as yours. IMO, the baby is easier than the older kids, lol. Good luck!

Nope! Just be glad Baby is immobile still. 3mo's are very easy to keep happy at WDW!
