Are we crazy? HHI & OKW

We have always spent a wk. in HH in Aug. We have never gone to WDW in the summer. Last year, we had a horribly rainy week in HH & I'm just not excited about returning to HH (It's not the resort, it was the weather) DH started talking about the "fairy tale" vacation package, where we could pay for 4nts. & stay for 7 night w/ passes included. We discussed adding that trip to the front of HH. But the great prices were for a budget resort & DVC has me (& my loved ones) spoiled so that a wk. in a budget hotel won't work. Also the included passses cannot be upgraded to an AP, which we wanted for our annual March trip. So I started playing with our ressie & if we drop 2 nts. off the end of HH & add it to our remaining 69 pts., we can add 5 nts. in OKW in a 1 BD. Our 6 nt. Aug. trip turns into 10 nt. trip (with the pesky question of where to stay on the Sat. nt. between OKW & HH--maybe Charleston or Atlanta) The real costs are meals & the difference between our 5 day hoppers vs. AP. How do these crazy ideas get started? Are we crazy?

Sounds like a great plan to me! And, if you're crazy, then we are all crazy here!

Although I would recommend Savannah or Jacksonville as stopovers instead of Atlanta or Charleston. It is a 7 hour drive from Atlanta and only about 5 from Savannah. Charleston is 2 hours north of HH, so that would put you in the wrong direction.

There is a slight "glitch" in the plan. I just got off the line w/ MS & there is no 1BD availability for 8/18, which is the second nt. So currently, we are in a 1 BD on the 18th, move to studio on 19th (waitlist for 1BD) move back to 1 BD for 20, 21 & 22nd and then back to a studio on 8/23 before leaving for HH. A little too much moving, so let's hope the waitlist comes thru. We've had good luck in the past!
