Hi this is my first attempt at a PTR. I have been wanting to do one in the past but just never have found the time. This time around im gonna make the time for it. This trip report will have info shared by all three of us. Me, my DW and my DSS. My plan is to make this a little different then most PTR's by adding a picture a day from past trips. To get the excitement level up and share pics to all of Dis that we havent shared yet.

The Cast:

My name is Mike i have been to the World many times but only stayed on property 3 times. Once at POP and twice at AsSp. I love everything Disney. My DW and DSS always say that im a great tour guide. I absolutly love the planning process of a Disney trip. From everything to ADR's, resorts, and park touring. Favorite character is Goofy and favorite ride is RnRc.

My DW Kera (mikera329): She has been technically 3 times. But the first time she only went to Epcot for one day and didnt experience the Disney magic. She took her actual first trip with me in 09. In that trip we got engaged in front of the castle in between Spectromagic and Wishes. And procceeded to go back in 2010 and we got married on the beach of the BC overlooking the water and the Boardwalk. Her favorite Character is Mickey and her favorite ride is RnRc.

My DSS Ian (Pluto's Boy): His first trip was this past May. He absolutly loved it. Prior to the vacation it was hard to get him excited cause he didnt know what to expect. Now that he has gone he loves to talk Disney. And is really looking forward to this trip. His favorite character is Pluto and his favorite ride is RnRc.

Here is a picture of the three of us on the beach at the BC.

Coming up next Vacation dates and our Resort choice.

Now for the reason for the title of this PTR. As we all know August in Florida can be very unbearable. And i have always said i would never do Disney in the summer. Well thats until now. When they posted the dates for Free Dining i weighed out all of our options. Most of the dates wouldnt work for us at all. So it was time to brave the heat and humidity of August. So we will be arriving at the world Aug. 19th till the 29th. Yes 10 days of Disney magic!!

With us being able to do free dining it open a new option for us. And that being the fact we could stay at a Moderate resort. This to me seemed like a no brainer. So we will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Hopefully in AB. There is so many things appealing to us at this resort. This was our chance to stay there and not have it be any more expensive then our last trip. Cant wait to hear peoples advice about this resort. We have been over there once last trip to eat at the Spaghetti station and we loved it. Love the fact that we can take the nice boat ride to DD. And the theme is great.

Up next: A few of our must do resturants.

Subbing!! We went in August '09 and stayed at POR. It's hot, no doubt but its also hot at home in August. I would rather sweat at Disney!:lovestruc We are going to be in ASMu in a family suite this August! Maybe we"ll see run into one another!:woohoo:

Yeah the heat with the 4 kids has me a touch worried..but we will make it..LOL

yep first time at Pop ( staying with a group of 22 total).. need 2 rooms so Pop it was!

Holy smokes 22 people!!! Now thats a way to finally get back to the World!!! After a long long long time!!

LOL..well 15 of the group going every year ( some twice a year).. we are the only slackers...

I'm subbing too.

Although we aren't going in August (as per my ticker!) we do love Riverside and have stayed at AB in building 27 which was perfect for us. We return to Riverside for free dining in 13 days!

We loved POR because of:

1) Yee Ha Bob (no one told me about him before we arrived). We heard this tremendous noise near the lobby and came in to be greeted with a tarzan call. Awesome.

2) The boat to DTD. It was long, but relaxing and convenient.

3) The food court. Lots of hot, tasty, fresh items.

4) The beautiful theming. I know it's not to everyone's style, but the theming was very natural and relaxing.

5) The pool was larger than I expected. It has a slide and a hot tub area. Lots of seating.

6) I loved the walk to the bus and the food court.

7) The music! It makes my heart go a little when you pull in on the bus and the music changes.

8) The walk to POFQ for beignets.

Sooo much to love. You'll have a great time.

Subbing!

Love POR! Always wanted to go around the resort in one of the horse drawn carriages at night.. though it would be really romantic!

And if memory serves there is a special kind of snack food there. Ah ha! Thanks to the above PP, my memory is jogged. It's the beignets. Apparently, it's right up there with dole whips and school bread!

You guys should have a wonderful time!

Well babe, it looks like you've got yourself some followers and I know your beaming with excitement! I can't wait for our next trip to the World as a family, sweating with the best of 'em! It seems from others posts, we chose POR for all the right reasons...and the beignets are an added bonus (you know how I love fried dough with sugar). POST MORE OF OUR MEMORABLE PICS TO SHARE, PLEASE :goodvibes
Love, your DW :bride:

Ok since this is my first report ever. I was wondering if anyone could give me any help. I was wondering how to put multiple quotes in a post.. Any help will be great!!

Here is a pic from our last trip. This is my wife's favorite photo. It may not look like much but our last trip was Ian's very first trip to the World. At the age of 11 and being a boy we didnt know what to expect out of him. But this picture is of the first time walking into the MK turning the corner down Main Street with the Castle in full view. His expression is great. He is in awe by the site!!
