Are these dates hard to get?

We just found out we passed ROFR and I can't wait to start planning. Our contract had 150 banked points which have to be used by 9/30/05 (October UY). So while we can't use our points for our upcoming November trip, I was thinking about the following:

BWV - studio - either Memorial Day weekend (four nights) or five weeknights at the end of June/beginning July

and

HHI - one bedroom - early to mid-August

Do you think I will have a problem with any of these?

Why can't you use them for your November trip? Those points are good toward any stay from 10/1/04 to 9/30/05.

Availability might be limited, but it's at least worth a call to MS to find out if you can use them toward some of your Poly days. That is, unless you're really convinced you want to pay cash for that trip.

You didn't say which resort was your home. Regardless, I don't think you'll have trouble booking this at 7 months. I booked a BWV studio for almost the same dates about 4 months out earlier this year.

Why not just call MS and see if these dates are available at your 11 mo. window? It's hard to say otherwise. I have found the normal crowd size they list tend to be off for DVC folks. I know Nov. is hard to book under the 11 month window. I am sure others here can give you other dates that tend to be busy as far as DVC goes...smjj

You don't mention you home resort (congrats on passing ROFR tho, and Welcome Home!). You should be able to get Memorial Day or end-June at BWV, provided you don't have your heart set on Boardwalk or Std views; still these might come thru on waitlist. You will have a better chance if you are able to reserve before the 7 month window opens (provided BWV is you home resort). But you should certainly be able to get something at BWV for either of those times, as these are high points periods. Now HHI in mid-summer has tended to be problematic, and to fill up quickly. If your contract is at HHI, you might be able to snag your dates easily, tho if you have to wait until 7 months out you might have to rely on the generosity of the waitlist.

Kind of depends on which resort you are talking about. I too think you should be able to get something for this year.

Unless you own at HHI, this one is likely to be a problem. First, the DVC at HHI has relatively few 1-BRs compared to 2-BRs. Then, summer is prime season, and HHI owners compete for the summer check-ins at 11 months out.

Our home resort is BWV...and since we just passed ROFR, I am assuming we won't close until early October. Therefore, I shouldn't say we can't use our points toward our November trip, I just think it would be almost impossible to get our dates (11/1-11/9) on such short notice.

I am planning on calling MS as soon as we are in the system to book both trips. So, I guess for the June/July trip, we will be at around 8 months (still within home resort advantage) and for HHI, I will try to book at exactly the seven month window.

Does anyone know if studios are easier to get at HHI? I know studios will be fine for us at the BW b/c other than quick meals, we don't really cook while we are in Disney. I just thought having a kitchen in HHI would be good, as there are no full-service restaurants on-site.
