Are these dates good?

Are the dates, August 25 - Sept 1, a good time to visit US/IOA?
Will we be dissapointed by not seeing the fireworks and the parks closing early?
Do many people visit during this time?
How is the weather typically?

I searched on the trip reports board and didn't see many people posting about trips during this time.

It's one of the best times to visit, as the kids have gone back to school.

The place is a ghost town in the morning, with light crowds in the afternoon.

Yes, the parks close early, and there are no fireworks, but you'll get on all the rides with no waiting. You may wonder if the park can stay in business, and whether anyone shows up. Yes, they can, it's just that late August and February and the slowest times of the year. Don't let the light crowds fool you, enjoy your time and be happy you have the entire park to yourself.

We have visited Universal/Disney the last two weeks of August for the past 3 years and its a great time to go. Rates are lower and crowds are very light in the morning. It picks up a bit around noon. It stil get very hot in the afternoon with the daily afternoon thunderstorm between 4:00 and 6:00pm.

We usually hit the parks when they open and hit all the good rides. After lunch we hit the shows and are in the pool by late afternoon when its hot.

A great way to beat the crowds and save some money if you don't mind the heat.

I know this may sound weird, but I'm afraid the parks will be to dead. I think things would be more interesting with a little crowd. I don't want the rides and entertainment to be diminished because the folks that run the park know it is a slow time of year.
