Are there plans for more DVC near Magic Kingdom?

I find it hard to believe (or I watch too many shows like Modern Marvels) that building in their swamp land is impossible with today's engineering.
More money than they want to spend (nor would I want to spend $500/point today) or too many governmental wetlands regulations would seem to be a more correct answer.

How about houseboat villas?

It's not impossible, but the expense might be too high to be viable compared to the other option at hand. And, there are a lot of other options which, as SSR has demonstrated, can be developed and sold even though they are not on the monorail or, for that matter, near any park at all.

Doubt it.

The garden wing had about 250 rooms. At max occupancy that's 1250 (250 x 5).

no it was definitely more than that - I counted them before they changed the maps.

think it was 356? some strange number.

will try and find an old map.

you left out my big one - very few DVC members go to the max occupancy rate.

now there are some that definitely do. but they (I am pretty sure) are in the minority.

Once the 4 Seasons goes online....and they take the high end traffic away from Disney hotels....

...and....assuming the economy gets back to growth....

go ahead and count on DVC to be plopped AT LEAST at the Poly....and more than likely at GF as well.

As far as space and land usage.....that is not a problem. They have complete autonomous control over what they can do and where. that was what florida gave them in 1965 to pull them in.

If you use Google Earth or some other mapping program.....you can distinctly see that there is a plot of land that can be used next to the poly. The reports of them not being able to use them because of swamp issues are rubish.....

Did anyone ever see the spot where BCV was before they build it? It was a murky jungle....the same with Wilderness lodge....and Animal Kingdom Lodge......They always find a way around those types of "issues"

Preliminary Test pilings at the Contemporary reported that the construction of a tower there would be financially unfeasible.....
anyone been by there lately?

I would bet good money that if sales continue to grow....they will go ahead and integrate the rest of the magic Kingdom Area.....

I wouldn't rule out further expansion at Yachtclub either.....you never know

What i don't believe disney will do is build new resorts anytime soon. so there will be little opportunity to expand DVC without new locations....which they probably can't do because they don't have the labor to operate what they've got now...

unless they outsource the values and maybe even the moderates.....another very reasonable possibility

though BCV went in the valet parking?

Polyn has a following - that GF does not.

I think that a CRO south contemporary tower is a possibility to have a better convention set up, with some larger “hospitality suites and executive suites. I would love to see a poly DVC

I would pony up the dough for Poly DVC in a heartbeat. When we stay on cash, it is our resort of choice.

You and me, both! Then again... I'd be quick to part with more cash for a GF DVC, too. :goodvibes I know it doesn't have the same 'following' as the Poly, but I do love the GF, especially during the holidays! :santa: :cloud9:

I am more with you on the GF DVC then the Poly. We have stayed there once and I would love to go back. Now we are staying at Poly for the first time this January and I may love that too. But right now GF DVC is where my money is being saved for. I have a 2 yr old DD and this is what I want to leave for her.

I hope they have plans to expand the theme parks as well. It seems as if they soon will have too many places to stay and not enough places to play...
