I think I would be interested if there were.
I agree with you.if there was going to be a DVC unit at the Polyn in the next 10 years - it would have been done when they did the rehab. that would have been the perfect time to do a DVC unit.
so can't even see one at the Polyn in the next 10 years. Heck we have waited 15 years for the one at the CR.
If anyone from Disney is reading this, If the Poly had DVC, I would buy.
I hope they NEVER build DVC at the Polynesian. For me personally, it'd ruin the already-perfect ambiance of this resort.
Sorry, I just don't like DVC at all and I don't want it at my favorite resort.![]()
P.S. I just want to clarify that I don't think there's anything specifically wrong with DVC per se, but I have absolutely no interest in it, and I would hate to see the Polynesian resort changed in order to incorporate it.
I don't think SeaSpray said anything wrong, it was their personal opnion. They don't want DVC to be built at the Poly for their reasons and it was not an attack against any DVC members.I'm not sure what you've got against DVC. It's actually brought an infusion of cash into WDW to allow them to do a variety of upgrades around the property.
With more and more people buying into DVC who would otherwise be occupying deluxe rooms, it's quite possibly going to become a matter of survival for the deluxes to convert some of their property to DVC. Additionally by selling DVC, WDW is virtually guaranteeing resturant and theme park revenue for decades from people who might otherwise begin to vacation in other places. It's actually marketing genious on their part to convert pieces of each deluxe into DVC to attract DVC purchasers who wouldn't buy DVC otherwise--just look at the early posters to this thread who stated that they wouldn't buy DVC unless it was available at the Polynesian.

You're welcome.Thank you! And you're right; I wasn't saying anything negative about anyone who owns DVC or who would buy DVC in the future. I was simply sharing my personal feelings on a resort that I love. Thanks for understanding that![]()
DVC additions to deluxe resorts have either converted rooms at resorts with lower bookings such wing rooms at the Contemporary (??) and AKL or brand new construction such as BCV, villas at AKL and VWL.
POLY has high bookings and doesn't have a natural location for much DVC construction. A natural location would have been where the Wedding Pavillion is, between the GF and POLY. I guess Disney could consider converting some of the TTC to some kind of hotel construction.
