Are the Tower Club rooms all castle view?

Just wondering if you pay for Tower Club conceirge at the CR, do all the rooms face the castle or is it by request only? And what is the difference between the 2 conceirge (tower club and 14th floor)? Thanks!

Roliepolieoliefan, it is by request. The two CR Tower views are Seven Seas Lagoon (MK view) and Bay Lake.

I have a few photos of a CR Tower Club room (Seven Seas Lagoon / MK view): click here. And a few photos of the Tower Club Lounge: click here.

The main difference between the Tower Club and the full concierge is primarily that snacks and CM staffing continue on into the evening for the full concierge floor but end in the afternoon for the Tower Club floor.

So you can only request views, not actually purchase the views like you do at the Poly (lagoon or garden)? I am wondering if this is true at the AKL too. Is the Poly the only hotel that allows you to specify/purchase the views in concierge level rooms?

I thought I would post what is on the official WDW website in regards to the CR Tower Club concierge rooms:

Room Type: Tower Concierge Room

The Tower Club offers limited concierge service, Continental breakfast, midday snacks, and refrigerator (upon request). All rooms have two queen-size beds or one king-size bed, day bed, table and chairs, ceiling fan, and large bathroom with private commode. Tower Concierge Rooms offer views of the Magic Kingdom® Park and parking area, or Bay Lake. Non-smoking and disabled-accessible rooms are available. Amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port on lighting fixture, phone in bath area, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Coffeemaker and refrigerator are available upon request.

Chamonix, I have not stayed at the Poly yet (will do so one of these days) so thank you for mentioning how concierge rooms are booked there. I found that information very helpful.

I have stayed concierge in a few other resorts (GF, AKL, YC, CR) and all my concierge rooms' views were by "request" only. From what was stated on the WDW website in regards to a CR Tower Club room, that still holds true today (I was curious to see if Disney had changed their booking policy but it appears that they have not): "Tower Concierge Rooms offer views of the Magic Kingdom® Park and parking area, or Bay Lake. "

I thought I would also post what the official WDW website mentions about a CR Tower full concierge room:

Concierge-level Guests also receive these special amenities:
* Comfy robes available in your room
* Staff available prior to and during your visit for reservations and vacation planning
* Access to the exclusive Castle View Lounge featuring Continental breakfast, snacks and evening wine and cheese reception

The full concierge lounge offerings mention an evening wine & cheese reception. I bet the view from the concierge lounge on the 14th floor is marvelous during the Wishes fireworks show, sigh.

YC also divides their concierge into garden view and water view. Maybe the CR should consider doing that, since the MK view is so popular.

Thanks janet. While you were replying, I was looking at your photos. (hope you don't mind) Wow, great pictures!!
I would love to do the private dining event, that would be a wonderful surprise for my family next trip. I assume that was arranged through GF Private Dining--wonder if the other hotels would also offer similar events. Did they suggest the dock, or did you think of it? I guess each resort would have ideas for this, I'll have to make some phone calls.
We are planning a stay at the AKL, so your AKL suite photos were very informative too. I want to book a one bedroom suite, so as to be able to do the Sunrise Safari, as well as have access to their wonderful concierge lounge. I hope that the one bedroom suites all have savanna views, perhaps that would solve the dilemma of booking concierge but not being secured with the view...? Oh, and one last question--was the VIP Safari you went on different than the Sunrise Safari? Was it the new late afternoon/Sunset safari I have heard about--or something you set up through the resort independently? (like the private dining event). If you want, I will delete this message after you read it, or you can pm me your answers.

Thanks Janet 2k for all the info. I couldn't get full conceirge with my airline employee discount. Wasn't sure of the difference between the two. We decided to go with just the plain tower room. We are going to stay at the CR for 2 nights then switch to hopefully the YC for 6. Right now ressies are a BWI waterview because again thats all I could get with my discount. Thanks again!

Roliepolieoliefan, sounds like you have everything worked out. Make sure your room reservation has your request for a Magic Kingdom (Seven Seas Lagoon) view if you want to see Cinderella's Castle from your balcony in the Tower. As to getting a discount on a full concierge room, it is very difficult to do. I've been on the Dis for a few years and have only read once or twice about someone getting some sort of discount on a 14th floor room.

Chamonix, if your resort doesn't offer a Private Dining event, you can always book one at the GF (you don't need to be a guest to eat their food ;) ). My Concierge Pre-Planning CM actually suggested the Water Taxi Dock as the venue for my dinner. He knew I wanted something unique and he thought that would be a perfect spot. He was so right.

Good question about the suites at the AKL -- do they all come with savannah views? I *think* they do, but a simple call to the resort's Front Desk or its concierge should answer that question for certain. (The two-bedroom and one-bedroom suites that I have stayed in certainly had savannah views.)

The VIP Safari that I went on was something very unique. My GF Concierge Pre-Planning CM set it up for me. He told me it had never been done before but was something that the AK Theme Park had been thinking about possibly offering in the future. I have heard about the new Sunset Safari that the AKL offers and if I were you, I would book either that one or the Sunrise Safari. Either one of those should provide a memorable experience for your family. I can't wait to stay at the AKL again and I will definitely be booking the new Sunset Safari when I do (my family went on the very first Sunrise Safari during the resort's Opening Week over two years ago and it was wonderful).
