My DS is into the Superheros, but we will only be at US. Do any of them appear there? And if so, where is a good place to look?

No. You need to get a two park one day ticket......there is lots of stuff for your son to do (sorry, I refuse to do the stupid D thing) even though it is "filled" with 2 coasters.
USF is a movie park and does not have rights to the superhero movies. They do however have characters walking around on stilts have the flintstones Nick characters and other movie face characters. Oh, they have Shrek and Madagascar characters too. Super heroes are strictly IOA.

Scooby doo is at US - a 'superhero' in some ways perhaps? :)

:( Okay, well thanks for telling me. I guess I will try to NOT tell DS about the superheroes then, but at least he will get to see Scooby! That he will like.

Do try to get to IOA to see the Superheroes. They really interact with the kids. The whole presentation when they arrive on their ATV's is great.

Spiderman noticed that my DD 10 was "too cool" to be in a photo with her brothers. He left his photo area and went over to her in the gift shop and coaxed a smile out of her which I caught on camera. It was priceless! All the while he was chatting with us. Made us feel special and a great memory to be sure.

SPIDERMAN--YOU'RE THE BEST!!!

Even if you go on no rides at IOA (which there's plenty to do for all ages!), if your DS is into the superheros, just a quick walk and whatever price difference there is is sooooo worth it.

The characters are about a five minute walk from the entrance of IOA. The stores in Marvel "World" are top-notch. Everything from cute underwear with a different superhero for each day of the week (yes, I proudly wear mine -- 34-year-young woman) to limited-edition collectibles and comics.

The character interaction is like none I've ever seen -- and I love Mickey and his pals with all my heart ... but Spidey, Captain America, the whole gang just really chat it up.

Our family went this past September. DH & I hit IOA our first day, headed straight over to say hello to Spidey in the shop where he hangs out. He made a comment about my Mickey hat, something about that needs to go and I need to get a "real" hat in his store. Ha-ha, "Will do, Spidey."

Shopped, hit a few rides, left the park, did Disney for a few days, USO after that. Well, we hit IOA again our last day, a week later, headed right over to Spidey to say goodbye until February. He friggin remembered me and my hat. Gave me quite the lecture, made me take it off to get my picture with him, LOL. He even said, "Betcha thought you were safe, and I wouldn't remember you."

For you, OP, make sure YOU get to interact some with Captain America. He seems to really enjoy, um, the ladies, LOL. And that's all I have to say about that

The superheros are the best!!!!!!!

the entrance the superheroes makes when they enter the area wows everyone.

we all loved seeing them drive in with the sirens blaring.

i was as big of a fan of this event meeting the super heroes as much as my sons were.

if you are all the way in orlando and you go to universal studios, how can you not go to IOA and see the super heroes?? :confused3

Is there a particular time for the entrance?

They generally come out about every hour or so. If you're anywhere near the superhero area (sometimes I can even hear it from Toontown or having a drink at the bar at Confisco's), you can hear it. An announcer gives a five-minute warning, then all the sirens start up, more announcing that the superheros are en route, cool music, etc.

Hmmm...I guess there are no other court reporters or scopists among my fellow DIS buddies?

I shall translate, then:

Court Reporters Always Get the Last Word.

I'm not the journalist type of reporter; I'm the stenographer who sits in a courtroom or deposition, writing my tail off at speeds in excess of 260 words per minute on my trusty writer, my steno machine. We take every word down, the first, last and everything in between (as well as a speaker indentification so we know who said it), to preserve a verbatim record of a legal proceeding. Hence, court reporters always get the last word ;)

It's a pretty common phrase -- or pun, at is may be construed -- among us reporters. I've seen it on bumper stickers and t-shirts at conventions.

What you see by my avatar is what would come out on my paper in my little steno code, or language, if I were to write that phrase on my machine -- well, minus the little smiley face. Our machines can't do that ... yet.
