Are the closed dates for refurbishments always right?

I was just reading the latest allears newsletter & see that I'll be in refurbishment "heck" when down there in Sept. I'm pretty bummed that the Magic Carpets will be closed, since they're new since my last visit.

But, what has me totally freaking is that Festival of the Lion King will be closed on one of our AK days. It's only supposed to be closed for 3 days, so I can catch it on our 2nd AK day. But, if they go over, we'll be out of luck.

So, are my chances good that it really will only be closed for 3 days?

No one can say. Sometimes the dates are extended, sometimes I've seen them pushed ahead for their start time. All you can do is check once you get there. Once I've seen the dates changed from one month to another.

If it's only being closed for three days, chances are that's on target. Longer rehabs are the ones that can tend to run over or shorter. The "only a few days" things generally keep to their schedules.

They do change. We though we were going to miss the Dinosaur ride at AK, and at the last minute the dates changed and it was open.

If I hadn't read that here, I would have missed it, because it never occured to me that WDW would change the dates.

Check just before you leave, you never know.

Contractor changes the date, parts don't come in, or enough guest complaints.

I'm curious as to where in the newsletter it says the carpets will be closed? I see the Jungle Cruise cosed until the 5th, but that's the only Adventureland closing I see.

Maybe you misread, and will be able to ride them afterall! Or maybe *I* misread and am giving you false hope!

The newsletter says the magic carpet ride will be closed from 9/13 - 10/15. It was added down near the bottom of the letter.
