Just got back from Target... 1/2 the slots were empty.. but I was able to pick up the cupcake surprise bakeshop and one more set of them.. so we're set for christmas and birthday now, Older dd will get the display case and 1 set, younger dd will get the cupcake thing and 1 set.

Then think i'll just give them the zoobles carry case as a combo gift, and each of them will get a two-pack of those.

And while I was there, I saw "farm in my pocket" (http://www.amazon.com/Farm-Friends-...e=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1282932426&sr=1-3) and "ocean in my pocket" (http://www.amazon.com/Ocean-Pocket-...e=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1282932360&sr=1-8) animal trio's... i'm sure those won't be a big hit this year, but they were too cute to pass up, so got each dd a set of those... they absolutely love tiny animals like this they can carry around and play with. And got those for $4.99, so don't order off Amazon, lol.

Can't believe I'm doing Christmas shopping already, but at least this way, I'll have it outta the way before the craze hits,

My MIL just gave DD9 and DD4 a pack of Squinkies this week. I'd never even heard of them. Girls loved them. Sure enough, they wanted to see if Target had the gumball machine - or other packs - completely sold out.

I guess I will keep an eye out for these for Christmas!

Are Zoobles like girl Bakugans? DD was telling me about something yesterday but I wasn't completely listening. I also wonder what are Squinkies?

DD is 10 but still loves her LPS & the Zhu Zhu. I guess I will pick up one or both of these in anticipation of needing them later. I thought we were done w/the fad toys but maybe not quite yet.

Yes, Zoobles are very similar to Bakugan.. they're kind of a cross between Littlest Pet Shop and Bakugans. And squinkies.. are.. umm.. just squishy little animals/people, lol!.. they really don't do anything.. other than they would be good for pencil toppers.

Thanks! That is really cute! I'm going to keep that in mind for my niece! Unfortunately, DD is 10 and has never been much of a pink fan. I got her the red/black & white house set a year ago and she has loved that, never put the roof on & the LPS go there to visit. I think I might try the beach house or house w/blue shutters.

The Zoobles tree house is really cute & right up her alley but not sure I want to invest in them that heavily! lol

I just asked DD(12) what these are. Apparently she has one! I had no idea! My DS(7) thinks they are cute but has no interest. They both love the Zoobles and want them. I really think these will be really hot this Xmas season so those who have gotten them already are really smart!

There were fewer Zoobles here in WI than Squinkies. My 11-year old DD just bought a pair of Zoobles with her birthday money.

I just bought DD a set at Target the other day...on clearance for $4. It was a gumball machine w/ 6 squinkees. She LOVES it...been asking since she saw the commercial a week or so ago. I may buy her more...but only if they're on clearance again. No way are they worth the original price Target had on there!

So if they're the big thing for Christmas this year, I'm off the hook, right?? LOL

Squinkies are 25% off here this week at Toys R Us. We stopped by Target yesterday and they actually had a few on the shelf. That's the first time in over a month we've seen them. DD has a few she bought over the summer, but I'm still not sure if that'll be her 'IT' toy for Christmas or not.

If it's the same big box that I'm thinking I've seen at our Costcos, those are tradeable erasers I believe. DD showed no interest in those, so I think that's one fad that's not popular here.

Well after reading this thread yesterday I decided to "hedge my bets" and bought both a pack of zoobles and a pack of squinkees for DD10 to put up for her birthday or Christmas. If she doesn't put them on the list I can always put them in the toys for tots box. From the looks of them I think she will want them. She likes all things that are a collection! We have silly bands and erasers already! They trade them at school. I am thinking they will trade these squinkees too. thanks for the heads up!

My DD(6) has 5 Zoobles already. She loves them. She takes them to her room and night and puts them in their happitat so they can "sleep" on her nightstand next to her bed. She loves LPS so this was a no brainer for me.
I was looking at the Squinkies and I felt Zoobles are a better choice atleast for my DD. They do more than the squinkies. She can make the animals blink by pressing their head. I will be looking for the playsets and more Zoobles for christmas. She has also introduced her Zoobles to her LPS's.
IMO I think Zoobles is the way to go!

I guess I know what I'm buying once dh gets paid. DD has seen the zoobles on tv and asked for them. I've never even heard of squinkies- sounds like a good stocking stuffer. She just discovered silly bandz last week when school started back.

DH and I went to Toys R Us at opening yesterday and I walked to the section where I thought they would be while my DH went to customer service to ask. I found an empty shelf where they are normally stocked and an employee was putting up the 25% off stickers. I asked her if she had any play sets in stock and she scoffed and said "they go the minute they get off the truck, but there is a truck coming in on Friday". I thought "oh well I guess I'm out of luck b/c I work on Friday". I went to find DH waiting at an empty customer service desk and told him what I found out. He said the customer service woman said there was ONE in the back and she was going to get it. I wasn't going to hold my breath but lo and behold out she came with one under her arm. It rang up for $16+change. I find it hard to believe they only had 1 in stock though. Not sure what the deal is but I'm happy to have one for my DD.

OUr toys r us wasn't open yesterday so DH went today. they had the larger cupcake and gumball sets. as well as the smaller gumball set. DH got one of each of the larger sets. one cupcake for my neice and a gumball one for my cousin.
