I should also say that being large beach front resort must be difficult to keep things sparkling clean...with wet and sand walked in constantly. I wish they had a little vacuum in the unit though. I would have ran it a couple times and felt a little better. I did go out and buy Clorox wipes to wipe everything down. Others in our group, two were pleased with their rooms and one other was not (they even had roaches in theirs). The two of us unhappy were in same building and the two happy were in another (the main one). Might be the difference as well. DH and I fell even more in love with our DVC HHI after this MB trip. We like, even more now, that the beach is separate and folks leave the sand and wet there (pretty dry by the time you get back to Villa and no need for elevators with just three level buildings). And HHI being more low key and quiet (not so built up). That's more up our alley.OT but from years of going to MB, will say the overall quality of properties is well, we call it up to beach standards to be kind.
A property like Baywatch, being so large & condos (privately owned units) run by several different management companies, can certainly be hit or miss. One condo can be perfectly satisfactory, the neighboring one in disrepair. Not there for a competition, we are able to pick from a handful of resort properties we know that are family-owned and have high standards
Shocked they did agree to early departure/refund of monies. Leads me to think it wasn't the first time somebody complained, yikes.
To stay on topic, I guess we more prefer clean and updated to things all being in working order. We don't cook in the kitchen or care if light bulbs are out unless it's DD-18's bathroom mirror light because that would be a disaster, lol. I suppose a TV not working or the internet not working would also stink. WiFi has been a problem at times. That's irritating especially when you need the MDE app to do everything. It has gotten better though. Another frustrating thing s arriving to find no sheets for the pull-out sofa. That has been that last few trips. But a call to mouse keeping and they bring them. May take 30 minutes but they come relatively quickly. We just roll with punches. If it's something we can live with, we just tell them at check out. I suspect then it just never gets taken care of since it's like the telephone game and message doesn't make it to the end person.
