Are Moo Moo's And Boo Boo's Doomed?...Part 5

Right?!?!?!

It's not a plan for data storage (we have bunkers in different places in the country for that)... it's a plan for work continuity. So that we can make sure we still get work done even if our office, house, etc burns down or the government collapses. Because working will be my first priority... :confused3

Hahaha that's so sad it's kinda funny..... But not really. They honestly told you to bring it? I mean in theory it shouldn't be that hard but just that they're making your work the priority and not your safety is absurd.

Yes my boss did. Then my coworker asked if that was against our emergency evacuation procedure and she said she would check because she doesn't want to get yelled at if we are in the parking lot holding laptops.

I can see you all huddled around your laptops and watching the fire trucks arrive...

Ugh I am getting ticked off. My work is doing this "emergency preparedness plan" to keep business rolling in the case of an emergency... because you know the company is the most important thing. Their solution is to take our laptops everywhere. Just got an email from my boss to grab it if we have a fire drill/fire. WTH!

My coworker asked if HR was ok with that and I asked what if we drop it outside and she said "Don't"

We have the same policy in place. The laptops are to be taken home every day, etc. But the fire drill part...um, nope. That is taking it a step too far.

Right?!?!?!

Yeah, I understand taking the computer home with you so that if something happens to the building, you can be up and running quickly. But I don't agree with having to take it in case of a fire (especially a drill). First priority is to getting employees out safely. We aren't even supposed to grab our purses, etc in case of fire (even a drill). We just get out. Our earthquake drills are the same way. After the "shaking" part of the drill is over, you get out immediately (not stopping for computers, etc).

Which tour did you do in St. Maarten? I've been looking into the Bernard's Tours since we'll be a group of 9.

We used Bernard's and I highly recommend them. Our driver was Guillermo and he awesome. We booked a private tour (also 9 in our group) so he changed things up to match what we wanted to do. Ex. Orient Beach was a little rough for the little ones in our group so we stopped there just to see it and then moved on to a different (calmer) beach where the kids could enjoy the water more. He had a great way of being right there with us when we needed him (to explain things, check the times the planes were landing, etc) but then once we were settled, he would hang back somewhere and just let us enjoy each place. He also provided great narration when driving from place to place. Plus he had a cooler of refreshments....the Rum Punch was mighty tasty :drinking1 :rotfl2:

Great, we'll book it! What time did you start your tour? Is the ship time different than the island time and what's the difference?

Yeah the taking it home with is a pain but I am ok-ish with it. The "ish" Is because they keep telling me to get a roller bag but so far won't pay for it. And this is a Fortune 500 company... Ridicois!

The fire thing is insane!

TGIF, Boo Boo's!! :cool1::cool1:

I am taking a half day today (which starts in 10 min - woot!). Then my husband and I are going for lunch and he's taking me to get my eyeliner touched up. I hope it goes quickly and my eyes behave a bit better this time! Have a great Friday all! :yay:

For us, the island time was the same as the ship's time. I think it changes in the Winter when we are no longer in Daylight Savings Time (I don't think they use DST so they are an hour ahead in the winter but the same in the summer).

We booked our tour at 9:30.

Thanks, this will help us decide what we're doing!

Happy hour was fun! Lots of "free" drinks. Good dinner too!

I'm glad you're enjoying yourselves! Have fun!

My coworker and her husband came over and fixed all of our electrical woes! Woot! 4 issues fixed!

And the pool guy showed up finally. The pool is not swim able for a few days but at least it's blue

Glad to hear you are settling in Tiff!

I'm about to hop in the shower. It's formal night tonight. We're only going down for one hour of happy hour, too easy to get drunk if we're drinkinfg the free drinks for two hours!
