Are condos through SkyAuction possible at peak times?

I was just wondering if anyone has had luck getting a condo through SkyAuction at a peak time such as Christmas or Spring Break. If you did, what did you get, how far in advance were you able to book, and how much did it cost? If you couldn't get anything from SkyAuction but got a condo from somewhere else, how much did it cost?

I'm also interested in people's experiences with SkyAuction during other high-season times, such as summer or Thanksgiving week.

Thanks in advance! :wave2:

Well I just won a few weeks ago a 2 bedroom condo for 8 at Sheraton Vistana for spring break 2007, 3/30 - 4/6. I won the auction for 463+ fees =$678, last year I won Cypress Pointe for same time but it was a last minute deal that I got for 283 total. Good luck

Thanks for the information, Runwad! So, was $283 Cypress Pointe a "Ready, Set, Go" auction with the $678 being an auction specifically for Vistana?

And, does anyone else have thoughts? I'm interested in hearing from people who couldn't get anything during peak times, too.

The getawayweeks that you can buy a certificate for on Sky Auction are very rare in the summer in Orlando. But some can be found as early as August 5 and today I checked August 26 and there were quite a few.

They are also very rare in Jan-April. But I used one starting the weekend after Thanksgiving day because Disney was all booked up starting Dec 1.(at least for DVC)

If you can travel during the 'off season' you can certainly save a kazillion bucks using Sky Auction for Orlando.

Both auctions were for each respective resort, but for Cypress Pointe I literally won the auction on Thurs and we left on Friday hence getting it so cheap, last minute. This year w/Visatna they've had auctions for Vistana for lots of weeks in 2007, I won one of those and picked our spring break week. I've looked at the ready, set, go auctions and I don't ever seem to find anything as big as we need or the time we want to go.

Thanks very much for the responses!

OK, I think I get it now, Runwad -- neither of your March timeshares were from Ready, Set, Go auctions. They were both stand-alone auctions for that particular property, but the one in 2006 went for not much money because it was so close to check-in.

So, it sounds like Ready, Set, Go is hardly ever available during peak times -- Christmas, Jan to April, and most of summer. This was what I was trying to find out, thanks!

Any other thoughts are still welcome, of course.

You got it Judy :thumbsup2 , as far as Ready Set Go I've just not had any luck but maybe others have. :confused3
