I am thinking of getting our dd (6) a game card to use at the arcade. Since the search feature is gone, I need to re-ask this question. How much is the game card? Do you put a "lock" on it so kids can't charge up tons of $$? Can you punch a hole in the card and string it on the lanyard with your childs room key? How much are the games to begin with?

Sorry for all the ??? but we are leaving in 5 days and we are trying to tie up as many loose ends as possible before leaving.

Game cards can be purchased or recharged in increments of $5 and $10. These cards are separate from the Key to the World (KTTW) cards that allow you charging privileges elsewhere. If you purchase a soda mug and a game card for your DD, you may find there's no remaining reason that she'd "need" charging privileges, so you can turn off the charging privileges on her card.

As far as the room key, yes, you can punch a hole in it. Just make sure you don't punch a hole in the magnetic strip. And remember, "Mickey goes in first", so you'll want to punch the other corner so she doesn't even need to take the card off her lanyard.

Have fun with your last few days of planning and excited anticipation!

Game rooms are so frustrating for me even @ home. Grandma loves to dole out quarters - I won't. I'm the meanie. Maybe you can just let DD6 know she will have time on the computers on the days she can go to the Oceaneer's Lab. That's free. She'll be in the Club due to her age but my DS7 only cared to go to the kid's programming when they were in the Lab. He's beyond the climbing stage (kind of). Definately have her make Flubber!

HAVE FUN!!!! I'M MAGIC HOME-SICK ALREADY.

I don't know who is more excited, my dh and myself or my dd!! She hasn't asked at all about the arcade, but I had figured I better prepare myself.

Thanks for the info - and Dave - one more question - do we need to bring a hole punch or do they have one on the ship?

Does the arcade give out tickets when u play the games. (Like Chuck E Cheese or All Star Musics Game Room) Or is it more for the older kids. Would like to know as I have a 6 and 10 Year old.
The 6 yr old likes the tickets she can trade in for prizes ( we all know the prizes are garbage) But she LOVES them.

What is the difference between the computer games at the lab and the games at the arcade?? Are they near each other or can I get away not even telling the kids about the "paying Games"??

Just have to ask....will my kids live without the arcade??How are the games at the labs(besides being free!) Is the arcade near the lab and do you think they will know about the arcade if I don't tell them??

I can't tell you about the computer games in the lab, but Quartermasters is 4 decks above the lab, and is very discreet. My kids never realized what it was, and I sure didn't tell them!

The arcade cards are charged to your key to the world cards and are only available in $10. (they have stopped using $5 cards)
