ive read somewhere that you can only buy the DDE cards if you have annual passes. Does this mean I can get it with the Annual passes I get in the package? (do they not allow you to because you got them with the package?)

And, silly question but what exactly is the DDE? Ive heard many brides say they used them for the wedding meal and got great discounts.

I know that the AP's you get with the wedding packages are not "full" AP's...meaning they don't include some of the benefits of regular AP's but I'm not sure what exactly is included. I'm pretty sure the DDE option is available.

You can find more information about the DDE if you CLICK HERE

Hope that helps!

we got the dining car in feb for our planning session trip and saved loads on the food and drink we got

The Ap's you get with the package are regular annual passes that are good for one year admission to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood studios. All benefits of the AP are the same, including being eligible for the DDE card, shopping discounts, and free parking. We just got our DDE card a few weeks ago when we were there for our planning session. We did not order it ahead of time, we just went to the Guest service counter at Epcot and purchased it there.

The DDE is great if you are going to be eating at a lot of table service restaurants. It saves you 20% off of the check including alcohol. This year when you use your DDE card they add the gratuity to the bill and then remove the discount so make sure you do not tip twice.

We were given are regular AP's (I assume everyone gets the regular AP's) which include park admission but not water parks and disneyquest. We upgraded ours from regular to the premium annual pass.

We also purchased the DDE which for us is perfect. We rarely eat counter service and have table service lunches and dinners every day with alcoholic beverages. The DDE saved us a ton. We will always purchase the DDE from here on out.

Hope that helps!

I noticed on the disney wedding web site that couples getting married get the APs but they don't offer it to the couples that are renewing their vows at DisneyWorld. Why not, I am spending just as much on the package as first time brides, somehow this doesn't seem right to me.

Vow Renewal couples get them too. Don't believe everything you read on Disney's wedding web site - it's not updated very often. :thumbsup2

Thanks, that makes me feel better. :thumbsup2
I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't when the packages for the escape brides and the vow renewal couples were exactly the same.

We got the DDE when we arrived for our wedding week, and used it to save about $200 on our wedding night dinner at Narcoossee's. That alone more than covered the $60 we paid for the card!! We also used it every day, sometimes twice a day (DH loves a sit down breakfast) the rest of our trip and saved way more money than I can add up! Oh, if you're willing to do one check and separate payments, up to 8 other people dining with you can use it too. At every meal we had family dining with us use the card and saved along with us. Some CM's gave us a hard time, but in the end they all did it. It's really easy at buffets and things to say, put 2 on this card, 2 on this one and 2 on this other card. It's a little harder at other places, but worth the hasle.

Can I use one DDE card for 2 people? Like if I got the card and my DF didn't can I use it for his dinner too? Or only mine?

I just found out they dont give the discount at Il Mulino so its probaby not going to be worth it for me as thats where I want my wedding meal.

Does anyone know if portabello in DTD take the dde card?

Doesn't look like it to me. Looks like the only DTD restaurants that accept it are Cap'n Jack's, Raglan Road, and Planet Hollywood.

However, even if you can't use it for your wedding dinner, it might be worth it to get the card. We weren't able to get ours until AFTER our rehearsal dinner  but we still more than made up for the cost of it during the remainder of our trips until our AP's ran out. If you do the math, if you will spend more than $300 at table service restaurants in the time you will have the card, it's worth it to buy. HTH! :thumbsup2

We were planning on getting the two cards as we want to dine at California Grill and we have 17 guests (although three are under 3s who will most likely sleep through it all after the excitement!).

As long as we state at the very beginning (i.e. as soon as we check in or before we order) that we will require two bills, will this be OK? We could then put 7 adults on each bill, and still get the discount.

Yes, just designate which adults to put on the bill :goodvibes The DDE is well worth it and usually last about thirteen months.

Be sure to look your bill over carefully to see that the gratuity is added because our excellent waiter at Raglan Road did not put in a gratuity and can you imagine how terrible we would have felt if he got nothing for his excellent service???!!!! You really have to just look over each bill and assume nothing :teacher:

Thanks for the hint re tipping - we had great service last time at CG and tipped double what we normally do! (Not sure we could afford doble with this many in our party though!!)
