April, May, June AP Watch. Let's Get it Started

Hello from Central Ohio. I am going in Feb and it can't get here soon ENOUGH. I'm also going in May Can't wait. Stay warm

Hi everyone,

I can't wait either. I keep pricing WL again and I just can't accept that I have to pay $189 (as their "discounted" rates) when I paid like $109 during value season (when we went in Dec.)...I know...I'm so cheap. :guilty:

But I'm hoping the AP rates will be ok for May since it'll be "regular" season. I hope, I hope, I hope! (We're planning on going on DCL, and if the AP rates are good for WL, we'll stop there too!) :worried: (oh please oh please oh please, I want to go back to WL!)

;) ;) ;)

leighe, I think the AP rates are out for your vacation period. Call and ask since we're not going then so I'm not positive.

Unless AP Rates were just released today, they are not out for May :(

Leighe is going from March 26 to April 2 so the current AP rates would apply for her trip. They end on April 17th.

Leighe call and get that AP rate now! The sooner the better. Good luck.

Hello everyone,

I have ressies at CBR for May 1-8 and last year at this time or later I received a nice surprise when resort room codes came out for my exact trip time, I am hoping and watching for AP or room codes rates for my trip, This board is Brilliant, and makes me even more excited.

Just got off the phone with CRO to check AAA rates. I told the CM I was an AP holder and AAA member if that made a difference. She gave me the AAA rates and said that AP rates hadn't been extended to May yet but that she "expected to see them in the next 2-3 weeks." I'll have my fingers crossed that this is the case! :)

Lollipop Mom, Thank you so much for that post...it really gets my hopes soaring.:teeth:

I have heard conflicting statements, can I purchase a annual pass for my child and use it for discounts towards my room, I've heard some people say yes and some say no.Can someone please help answer my question?

TIA,
Peylog

Peylog - This has been debated on these Boards a number of times. All I can tell you is that we used a Childs AP to book our room in May 02 and had no problems. DW asked the CRO when making the reservation if this was okay and was told that it was done all the time. We had no problems. It can not hurt to ask and if you can save some money, why not? Also, we were never asked to show our child's AP during our stay but were still given the discount. I hope this answers your questions. Jay

Peylog, when we were trying to decide if we wanted to get APs or not I called to ask about a child's AP and room discounts. I was told it would be fine as long as the child had the same last name as the adult who reserved the room. The room has to be in an adult's name, but as long as one member of your party has an AP, you should be fine.

Thank you JayCT and Lollipop mom for your reply's on a childs AP rate. I've heard I can buy my annual pass after I get to WDW but before I check in my Hotel is that correct? I already have ressies,I'm just hoping a room code will come out, so I don't have to purchase the annual pass, Unless it's somehow cheaper in the end..

TIA,
Peylog

99 more days to go!

bumping..........and after the release of the discount on the Fort Wilderness cabins and campsites maybe ours will be coming soon!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Peylog - When we were there in 02, we found it was cheaper to go with an AP than a straight code. I think that this is particularly true if you a staying at a deluxe resort. Again, you have to do the math. As for when to purchase the AP, we bought an AP voucher (plus our other passes) at our local Disney Store. We did not actually get the AP until we went to the park the day after we checked in. We never had to show the AP at the resort. I am not sure if the resort knew we had a voucher since we purchased it at the Disney Store or what. I do not think that you will necessarily need to purchase the AP before checkin, but most likely before checkout. Anyway good luck and heres hoping for good rates to come out soon. Jay

Does anyone know which day of the week AP rates typically come out??

peylog: i just wanted to add one thing to jayct's post. i have heard equal number of posters on this board say they never had to show their pass at check-in and others that had to show it each time. when i contacted disney, they said that their position is that you must have an activated pass at checkin. they told me that if i didn't, i would need to leave my lugguage with bell services, take the bus to downtown disney, and go to guest services to get it activated. seemed awfully silly to me but that is what they said. posters here have suggested to me that i just be ready to do all of this is asked at check-in.

i think that it is a roll of the dice and many have been lucky enough to get a checkin person that didn't ask. i am going in august and have already prepared myself to go to downtown disney if i must. i just hope that there are some rates for august as well!

Thank you for your info, I planned on getting my annual pass when I stop at Ocala Disney Center before I get to Disney, I am one of those people whose over prepared and organized, and like to have everything at check in. I'm just not sure the difference the AP would save me-- If the room codes came out too! Is there a sizable difference in price? And are there always AP room discount's in May?
or are they few and far between? I thought when you bought a AP, you received year round room discounts but after reading different info, it's confusing.

HELP!

TIA
Peylog

I have friends who just got back and stayed at the CR w/ an AP rate. They arrived with just a voucher for an AP from the Disney Store. When the CM asked to see the AP, she showed the voucher and the CM told her that was fine for right then but at some point between then and check out she needed to come back by the desk and show them an activated AP or they would have to change her rate to the rack rate. They were there for a week and it was 3 or 4 days till they were passing through the lobby and saw no lines at the desk. They showed the AP and the CM working there noted it in the computer. They did express checkout and still had the AP rate. :)

CindysGusGus-last spring the AP rates for this time of the year came out on a monday. i remember because i had to rush home on my lunch hour to book:p not sure if they always come out on a monday or not though.
