April 5, 2012 5 Night Bahamian Cruise (Dreamfinders)

Just booked this cruise....and once I get over the cost increase over the April 1st cruise...I'll be celebrating!

It will just be me and my DS (12 but turns 13 on the 18th, so we are pretending a birthday). Since our last (and only) cruise was the 2010 DVC member cruise with few kids his age, I am hoping that there will be lots of sociable kids in DS' age group for him to hang out with. Also, if there's any single parents on board ...that might be nice for me too. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Greetings to everyone!

We just returned from a 10-day Mediterranean Cruise aboard the Magic. With two cruises each on the Magic and the Wonder completed, we are excited to check out the Dream over Spring Break.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and preparing for this exciting voyage!

Our family (my husband and I, Brandon (15) and an older son and his wife)will be on this cruise. This is our first Disney cruise; I've been doing a lot of research and have learned about decorating the door and the fish extenders. I'd love to get any suggestions to help make this a great vacation. Thanks

I've been busy lately: trip to WDW early July, 2 birthdays, DH & kids went to his mom's for a few days. Finally able to post again!

Welcome to all the newbies! As I said, I am making a list on the first page of who's who on the thread. It helped tremendously on our last cruise!

It won't be long before we will want to be setting up some meetings.

In the meantime, for the new people with teen/tweens, I am reposting the link to the thread one of the girls started. My daughter just uses my log in. Have the kids jump in and say hello!

I live in Takoma Park...the other side of DC. I definately think trying to get a meet ahead of time with people in the area would be very nice...especially considering once on board there are 4,000 people to wade through.

I'm just glad, since I am trying to keep this trip a secret, to have people to communicate about the cruise with.

I was looking at the port adventures...I never realized that we would have the opportunity to see Atlantis! Wow...Everytime I try to price that vacation, I return to Disney instead. I feel like I'm getting a 2-fer.

Is the "fish extender" still on?? I thought the door decorating/fish extenders were adorable when I saw it on the Wonder. Eli will really love the idea that we can do it this time. Searching our magnets now.

For anyone who ill be going to WDW prior to cruise...anyone interested in their kids attending/setting up a group for the Youth Education Series? We could also take advantage of discount ticket pricing. They haven't posted the schedule yet for April, but if enough people were interested for the same class then maybe we could have one created. Maybe the Ocean themed one.

Just a thought.

I booked this cruise last October 2009 the day after they opened up the 2012cruises and I have been keeping it a secret from my DD9 DS6 and DS3 ever since.
It has been so hard and I have almost been busted a few times.
My dad lives in Cocoa so we we should be able to pull off the surprise up until the end. We will go to breakfast on the 5th and then as we are driving we will point out the boat, " Look the disney dream is docked lets see how close we can get to it?" well something along that line, hehe! We will be cruising on DS6 and DD9's bdays! : Cant wait!!

Tammi - we're from Mt. Airy, MD (but I work in DC).

My daughter doesn't know about this cruise (and its gonna kill her b/c she keeps asking to go on the Dream)

While the Med cruise was an awesome experience, I think we all missed the opportunity to visit CC! Probably my favorite DCL stop. So looking forward to two days of chillaxing!

As time gets closer, we'd love to meet up - i agree that finding anyone among 4000 people could be a challenge!

finally our school district put out the schedule for the year! We have been holding off, booking the rest of our trip , not knowing when spring break is. ( we don't want to miss too much school) we just booked AMK Jambo house for the 6 days before cruise, and one day after! ( it's our home resort DVC) we may change, but this was what we could book so far in advance.... As soon as we book airfare it will really start to feel real!
So very excited !

This will be our 6th DCL cruise...we got off the Magic on Saturday...where we booked this
We had half planned to do a 7 night Mexican out of LA...but the trip is to celebrate eldest DD's 18th...and she really wanted to go on the Dream...the Double Dip Castaway Cay is just an added bonus

we would like to take part in FE gifting...but think any pre cruise meets may be a bit ambitious from the UK
I will read the whole thread....sometime soon...and check in quite regularly

I will also be on the April 5th sailing of the Dream- woohoo!!! This is our second Disney cruise and we are super excited. I'm Wanda, 38 and from NY. Joining me will be my hubby Mike, my 2 boys Jayden (8 at sailing) and Tristan (15), and my mom. We are Dis-fans and have been trying to get other family and friends to participate on Dis-trips. Unfortunately, no one is biting. Time to make new friends to share my Dis-love with!! I'm hoping to participate in some pre-cruise or cruising meets!

We will be on this cruise. We are from Maryland. It will be me,DH,DD14,DD15. We are going to surprise the kids for Christmas-YAY!! This will be the first time both are teens on a cruise so I know my daughters will be looking forward to meeting other teens.
