April 5, 2012 5 Night Bahamian Cruise (Dreamfinders)

Yes, let's introduce our boys! My by-then7-yo is pretty tall and (relatively) mature, so he should get along with your 9 yo. He loves science and is looking forward to the science activity. And my 4 yo is all boy ;) I told them that they can do their own activities, but they need to look out for each other. It'd be great for them to have friends in the kids' club in case they want to do something different -- there are so many choices!

Also, we have 2nd dining (waitlist for 1st dining). So if you have it too, then they can do dine and play together!

Lydia

Hi Lydia,

That sounds great. My 4 year old is all boy too:), but he is pretty shy around those he doesn't know very well. Hopefully we can get them together the first day we sail. Also, we have 1st dining right now, but I am planning on switching to 2nd dining as I find having 2nd dining to be more relaxing getting back from ports / CC. I like using the dine and play too. It is nice that they offer it.

I will also have a 9 year old boy too, so maybe he can hang out with yours and Dedee's boy too. :)

Vicki

Hi!

We have a then 12 year old boy. He likes LEGOS, video games, swimming. We also have a then 10 year old. He also likes LEGOS and video games and playing in the sand at Castaway Cay. This will be our 3rd cruise and both have loved the kids club. Our older son is looking forward to hanging out in the Edge and younger is looking forward to not having his older brother in the kids club with him:)

Both our looking forward to meeting new friends on the Dream. So our their Mom and Dad:)

Sara, sounds like our boys should meet up. DS then 12 loves video gaming and swimming as well. He is so excited to have more freedom on the ship this trip, as well as being in Edge.

Still hoping we get some 10yo girls on the ship too.

Anyone flying in from East Coast? Right now flights from NJ to MCO are $250 -- reasonable, esp. since it's spring break, but I'm wondering if I should wait for a good deal since it's still so far off? I know, it's like predicting the lottery :rotfl: I'm tracking flights on Yapta, but just wondering what others thought.

Also, I'm torn on 1st vs. 2nd dining -- I've read the boards, and folks seem split. We plan to stay on board during Nassau, but definitely want to enjoy CC (hence the double dip). But my boys are early risers - like 6am. Thoughts? I figure I could ask my 'personal' Dis board :flower3:

Hi Soccermom,

We are flying from EWR to MCO - Flying in on the 3rd, and staying at the BC. We paid $184 round trip - I booked the first day flights were available. That's about the cheapest I've seen in years, so we booked. We did the early dining. We've cruised DCL several times, and like the earlier better. My twins will be 6, and my son will be 10 so they are a bit older, but we decided to stay with the earlier. We are doing Nick All Access this summer, and frankly, the whole "freestyle dining" scares me. There is nothing like going to dinner, and having your table ready (no beepers!!!)

Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I've been on so just wanted to check in. I'm glad to see that there are twin girls age 6...my daughter will be 6 also!

Does anyone in the group live in Michigan? Just wondering about airfare.

Also, is anyone planning to stay in Cocoa Beach for a few days before the cruise? If so, maybe we could meet for dinner.

Can't wait! Getting very excited!!!!

Hey everyone! Glad to see everyone making connections! I haven't had time to get on much, but I get the email updates!

I posted a list of who's on board on my first post. If I missed anyone or you have details (eg husbands' names, kids ages etc) let me know.

Already Dreaming of the cruise!!:cloud9:

Thanks,for updating!

Bellingham is a couple hours north of Seattle, and out of the convergence zone, so hopefully you will get some nice weather. The mountains around that area make it so very pretty on a clear day.
Can't wait to hear about your Alaskan cruise. It truly is God's Country and Amazingly beautiful.

Hi Dee dee,

We are excited for our Alaskan cruise in August. :goodvibes I am glad to hear that the Bellingham area is nice. We are staying there for 2 nights. Have you ever been to Alaska? My husband and I have wanted to go there for a long time, so we were very excited when we heard that the Disney cruise was sailing there. :woohoo:

I have been to Alaska, it's been sometime since I was there last ( 15 yrs) but from what I understand it doesn't change much. My boss just got back from a month long trip there, and looking at his pictures and talking about the culture it doesn't change. It has got to be the most breath taking scenery I have ever seen, pristine beauty everywhere.
Living in such a cold climate( Seattle) I can't ever imagine wanting to take a vacation to some place cold. We are always Sun deprived and seeking any amount of warm weather and most importantly Sunshine-lol

I think the only way I would consider is the way you are doing it- on a Disney Cruise, Top notch and first class all the way!
what are the port adventures that they are offering, or you are considering?
What are you most excited about seeing or doing?
Do you have activities planned while in Bellingham?

P.s. People can explain the daylight and how it is light out all day and night but you just have to experience it. :wizard:Magic

Hi Dee dee,

I didn't realize that Seattle was so cold. :confused3 I knew they got a lot of rain, but I didn't know about the coldness. Did you cruise when you went to Alaska or did you visit the interior? My husband and I would like to see the interior someday, as well as Denali National Park, but it will probably have to wait for awhile.

Disney is offering a lot of different excursions. The ones that we are most interested in are the White Pass Railroad and Trail camp in Skagway, as well as the Lumberjack show in Ketchikan. In Juneau, we plan to walk around and go on Robert's Tram. What did you all do when you visited Alaska?

We are excited to see the scenery of Alaska and hopefully see a lot of wildlife. Plus, we are really excited about the train ride up White Pass in Skagway. Just being on a Disney cruise is fun in itself though. :goodvibes

In Bellingham, we are hoping to go to Whatcom Falls Park, drive around the area and hike some, as well as go to the ocean. Do you have any suggestions for us?

In August when we go, what time does it usually get dark and the sun rise? I am sure that it will be dark some of the time that time of the year, but still lighter that it is here in Wisconsin.

Vicki

We'll be driving down from Maryland and staying the night before the cruise in that area. I would love to meet for dinner!

Our family (my husband and I, Brandon (15) and an older son and his wife)will be on this cruise. This is our first Disney cruise; I've been doing a lot of research and have learned about decorating the door and the fish extenders. I'd love to get any suggestions to help make this a great vacation. Thanks pirate:

Greetings to everyone!

We just returned from a 10-day Mediterranean Cruise aboard the Magic. With two cruises each on the Magic and the Wonder completed, we are excited to check out the Dream over Spring Break.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone and preparing for this exciting voyage!
