ibouncetoo- wish we were going with you on the TA. It was fun last time. See you on the Hawaiian cruise. Have a great time.

I wish I was going on the TA too! :lmao: I'm the Repo/1st Alaska...in just a few days! :woohoo:

Hope you are able to keep the 12/15/12 cruise too!

.

They do have strollers on board you can borrow throughout the cruise. I believe there was a deposit, which was removed from your account when you return the stroller.

Thanks, I'll check it out :thumbsup2

We have always brought our own umbrella stroller. The Disney strollers are joggers. We prefer the smaller stroller, particularly when site-seeing. Ours has been on 4 cruises and 2 trips to Europe.

I agree the umbrella type strollers are so much easier to travel with, I'd just like to bring my big one for day sleeps and stuff, ie: if baby is having a sleep we can eat lunch in peace or something? Those smaller ones aren't comfy enough for sleeping in. What do you think? :confused3

Great.. Thanks for clarifing...Because here we have the a yard, and then we have "gardens".. :rotfl2:... In which we grow our veggies, flower beds etc.. Sometimes you just have to ask dumb questions, because your curiosity gets the better of you!..

It's kind of like we take a vacation, and you take a holiday. To us, a holiday is something we celebrate, Christmas, Thanksgiving.. etc. I try to decipher!.. :cool1:

There are no dumb questions! :thumbsup2 I love all these differences/similarities in our language too...... We may have to resurrect the English/American dictionary, ladies! :goodvibes

Have a great trip, We'll be following along

Toys R Us was clearancing out last year's Mclaren umbrella strollers earlier this month. We almost bought one for our niece who is due any day but deceided to get her a full size one instead. You may want to check your local store to see if they have any. They were 30% off so it would have been around $100.

I'm sure by next spring, I will have full-blown DCL cruise fever, causing me to start piling suitcase items randomly around the house, use phrases like "it's on 2nd deck," when I'm referring to the location of a store in a 2-story mall, and then the cruise dreams will take over my sleep! Dreams that I always have where I can't find my stateroom, or I'm frustrated because I haven't done it all and I have to get off the ship before I've even had time to sit on 4th deck!!!!

Finally found time to sit on deck 4...eeyorelvr10 & I sat up till 4 in the morning talking, watched them set up for Panama Canal day, when we realized what time it was:rolleyes:

At least everyone here understands. As, my extended family has just given up on asking "why another DISney cruise?" (don't forget the noses in the air)

it's not that hard to understand!

And as far as weight gain goes, you can count me in! I will be walking 4th deck to work off a small percentage of the calories that I consume. How many calories are in a tiny chocolate volcano? (lava cake) Hhhhhmmmm, must research this. I might have to be a blue-chair lap-counter on some occasions though, only to help others out of course. :)
Erica

Well I would think the blue cushions will be new & comfy, after being in dry dock

Hi Lori,

May 1st works for me. You're about 1/2 hour from me. Anyone else?

Bev

Bev, where would you like to get together....it would probably just be me, dh is on call, never fails he makes plans to do something and then gets called out to work

Thanks for the tips. I found that I overpacked for the girls on our last cruise, I will really have to be careful when packing this time, especially with 3 kids. Luckily the girls are nearly the same size so they can share some stuff.
Didn't need to wash once last trip, but I will this time. Less packing = more shopping space in the luggage! :thumbsup2
Food, Hmmm...I suppose I'll just have to see where we are when it's cruise time. I have read that DCL will make you mashed veges for babies if requested, so that's always good to know.

I do have one question I can't seem to find an answer to, Did you take a pram / stroller? Did it fit through the stateroom doors, was it always it the way? I will take our Baby Bjorn carrier, but was wondering whether I will need to buy a small umbrella stroller as I have a Bugaboo and it may be too big to fit some places? :confused3

Thanks for you help, I really appreciate it! :flower3:

I wish I would have known that they would make smashed foods!... Oh well.. We lived thru it..lol..

We took a Joovy Sit and Stand stroller, they are larger than your normal fold up stroller. It would fit in the doors, but it did get the way just a bit, but, if I remember correctly it also fit in the closet. We just didn't put it in the closet much because we were in and out often. If you can get away with an umbrella stroller, or even a single regular stroller I woudl recommed it. We had 2 young kids, so we NEEDED the sit and stand, and it did work great for the 2 kids.

Maybe we need and English/American dictionary... Like they have spanish/English..:rotfl:.. Then I would know that a garden is a yard, and a holiday is a vacation... and a loo (spelling) is a bathroom... I am savvy to a few things...:woohoo:

I'd love to, but I live in Australia. Everything is so much more expensive here. I was in Las Vegas last month for a quick pre-baby, no-kids vacation and picked up the Bugaboo Chameleon stroller for $800 LESS than here, yep, I saved $800! Crazy!!! We might just travel to America without a stroller and buy an umbrella stroller when we arrive, before Disneyland. :thumbsup2

As for differences in language, we came across this many times when we were chatting on the 2010 WBTA thread. Here is Australia we take the 'english' and the 'american' and mix it up and then add a little 'occa' to it. Please fell free to ask me if I ever say anything weird! ;)

and a diaper is a nappy, and candy is lollies and don't even get me started on thongs, undies, flip flops, jandals, bums and fanny packs!!!! :lmao:

This didn't work that way for us on the Dream last month...! :confused3

Maybe it's a Dream thing since they only do brunch on some sailings (?), but they told us before we went (phone) it's always for dinner ONLY. I would love for it to be brunch too, because we usually skip dinner there...not any interest after a couple hohum ones.

I'm definitely going to check on our ebta next month!!!

.
Thank you for this answer as well. We agree with you, Palo is not worth missing out on the dining room and my servers for dinner. If worst comes to worst, I can ask the Palo manager. If the manager says no, then oh well, we will not use this perk.

Hope everyone that celebrates Easter has a joyful day.

We are heading for DW today to pick up some last minute gifts. We hope to see the shuttle on the 29th and the next day begin our drive back to CT. We will miss our Disney freinds here in FL.

Yes, don't get her started!!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I would love to get her started!.. I find this kind of stuff facinating... Mostly because it's not really having to try to learn a new language, but learning how others use our current language, we all understand what each other is saying, but, just don't get some of the words!.. Now I would be interested to know what you call a thong....I personally call it an uncomfortable waste of good material! :lmao:

I didn't quite quote the last message like I thought it was going to..I am new to this whole board thing.. I think I would have a harder time deciphering Aussie, that I do English..lol.. Because, I would probably NEVER get that a nappy is a diaper, here a nappy is a kiddie version of saying NAP, as in taking a sleepy nap.. And as for lollies, that to me would be a plural form of a shortened form of lolly pop, which is candy on a stick.:rolleyes1

......and then there's the whole jumper/sweater, sidewalk/path, pants/trousers......etcetc......:rotfl: and as for knickers...:rotfl2:

Oops forgot that part about you being in Aus.

You are all giving me a good chuckle here this morning! The conversation brings to mind one that my mother had with my DD's when they were young teens.

My mother still has 1960's terminology that she uses at times.. This time it was using the word "thongs" in place of "flip flops". Back then that is what thongs were, flip flops! So, this one day my mother was telling my girls that she had just returned from vacation and she had forgotten to bring her "thongs". Well the girls were rolling on the floor laughing hysterically as they were picturing their grandmother packing thongs (abbreviated panties) for her vacation! and even worse...wearing them! :rotfl::rotfl: One of the funnier conversations I ever heard them having, lolol.

Diapers are nappies here too. We still take naps. Lollies are candy on a stick, or flavoured ice on a stick, which I think are popsicles in the US??? US candies are just sweets here, candy can be a particular kind of a sweet though.

I love the first time I heard someone from the UK say "What's for pudding?"

I thought the obvious answer would be.....pudding. :confused3 When the response was "Apple pie" I was VERY confused.

Growing up the the Beatles generation, I was (and am) a devout Anglophile, but I had never run acrosss that one till later in life.
